Hi Donna, happened to chance upon your video and I have since been following your tutorials. Btw, I am a elderly male in my mid 70s and I do not sew. Nevertheless, I find your instructions explicit and marvel at your skill in transforming fabrics into beautiful beautiful quilts. Also the final machine quilting is an icing on the cake. Watching your videos is therapeutic and calming especially during this pandemic period. You have my admiration for having such devotion to your skill. Keep up the good work and stay safe and healthy. Cheers from 🇸🇬
David, I agree with you completely. I just started quilting during the pandemic and spent hours watching RUclips videos. I watch my granddaughter during the day and when she was about 3 months old sitting on my lap I would watch Donna's videos and as soon as she heard Donna's voice she would watch the video with me. Now at 9 months old and teething, all I have to say is "lets watch Donna" and she is so happy. My future quilting buddy. Donna, Matt and crew, please keep making your videos, I watch them over and over!!!
David, I am the same way. I do sew but have not really done quilts. But watching Donna is a treat and I, too, find her videos inspiring and relaxing. Someone else you might want to take a look at is Beth Shibley @ “My Sewing Room.” Her videos are short, sweet, and utterly stress free. They are like meditation for me. Just relaxed, perfectly imperfect quilting with lovely music and a calming, welcoming tone. Different from Donna, but very enjoyable.
It's never too late to take up the fabric arts! Even just sewing up a block or two to make a pillow or centerpiece or small wall hanging is quilting- it doesn't have to go on a bed at all. You can literally make a little piece of art in a day and yes, it is very therapeutic.
Everything about this quilt is beautiful. It's great Donna that you use fabrics from different manufacturers. I enjoy your videos because there straight forward NO DRAMA. Your son does a great job as your videographer.
I’m going to give this a go. My Dad has just been admitted to hospital again so I hope to have it finished for when he goes home again. I’ll post a pic once it’s done. I’m a beginner quilter (started last year) and this will be my seventh quilt
I'm praying for your Dad RIGHT NOW!! You and I started about the same time!! Most of mine are baby quilts. I joined a group at church that makes baby quilts for the Hope Pregnancy Center here! That's when I started quilting! I have my first one on my wall because I see too many mistakes to donate!! 🤣😆😂😆🤣
I LOVE watching your videos while I'm quilting. I've learned so much from you and I've been quilting for 30 years. Quilting with a friend is always a joy. Thanks Donna.
This is one of my favorite quilt patterns that is still on my to-do list. Donna, how you come up with these patterns is just amazing; you have such a talent and skill to create beautiful pieces of art - even if they’re just to cuddle up with! Thank you for what you and the Jordan Fabrics team do to teach, encourage and support those of us who weren’t courageous enough to start a quilt on our own.
You are the best. I have a very small quilt shop (more like a hobby shop now that I’m 82) in Bellevue IA and I always tell customers to check your videos for great quilts and ideas.
I have watched this Roundabout Training Video at least 6 times, I LOVE the Illusion Pattern Design. I will definitely be making this Quilt. THANK YOU so much for this gorgeous Pattern. I LOVE your work. Rhonda - Gold Coast, Australia 🇦🇺 💞
I’m going to make this in red white and blue fabrics to raffle at the veteran’s breakfast my town does on the Fourth of July. I love this pattern. Thank you!
Our quilting group has a member who does so many quilts a year & donates one to be raffled off from May to Dec. the Money with our meeting donations of cash is then sent to a local college to give out for a nursing student scholarship. We do this to honor a former quilt member from our quilting group who suddenly passed away and was a retired nurse. Pat sewed & quilted small to twin size quilts every day using all her retirement showing children hope & love in which she was paid with smiles & thank you love letters from these children in foster care & hospitals.
I love Donna 's videos! I have learned so much from her! She makes everything with ease with great directions and easy to follow her. I love to watch on my TV at home.
Just beautiful! Thanks for the free pattern, this is the first time I've seen this design without paper piecing and i hate paper piecing 😉 now i think I'll be able to make a quilt like this 🎉
Thank you very much for your wonderfull way to show us what to do, you make me believe, that I can make patchwork! I just have to make this, thank you from Denmark, Inger Reich
@@staceyfranks01 You can, but not necessary. As long as you scale all your blocks to the same size, it will look beautiful. Work out how many blocks before you start, as I have oodles of both sizes left over ready for more quilts lol. Also you can chain sew the 4 corners on instead of keep stopping and cutting thread, using 3 blocks at a time (sew one corner, place another corner on the next block, sew that, same on next block, then take blocks from the back of machine to sew the next corner.. Incidentally I found the measurement of my corner sections was the same measurement from the top of the template to the bottom, ie the 3 inch template used 3 inch corner and the 7inch template used 7inch corner etc.

I made this quilt years ago for my granddaughter. I did all the piecing by hand and then machines quilted it. It was her first and I saw such very happy young teenager. I just love the optical illusion it creates. I hope to make it again someday.
My next big quilt is going to be using the kaleidoscope ruler (Marti Michelle's) with Kaffe Fassett fabrics. I'm pretty excited about that one. That's a great tip about ironing the corners of half the blocks in to lessen the bulk at the seams. Definitely going to plan that into my project, so thanks!

I just started quilting this year and have jumped in with both feet because of you and your videos. You are amazing at teaching and showing all of the tips along the way. I have 4 quilt tops made. Now I need to get courage to quilt them!
Good for you, Angela!!! I have a couple tops as well, but I take them to a quilter to be quilted for me. This will be the case until I can afford the large quilting machine which I would LOVE to have!!! But in the meantime.......😏
@@rhondajohnson39 oh but I just got into embroidery as well and I plan to see if I can quilt my tops with it. I bought a Brother XE1 and it can take hoops up to 9 1/2 x 14. My birthday is in December, so I always call my big spending my birthday and Christmas presents. LOL
@@angela-sanders, embroidery is another great skill to have!!! My quilter also does that for me for the tags on my quilts.
Well, Happy Birthday 🎂 and Merry Christmas 🎄!!! I hope you get all your heart desires.☺️
Love your class you make this so. Easy. For use just learning thank you
Love the roundabout quilt. You make it look so easy Donna. Love love love the giveaway quilt. Would brighten my master bedroom so much. Anything made by you Donna is of quality for sure.
This looks so complicated but you, Donna make it look easy to sew, love to watch you work! Thanks for doing such a fine job!!
Always a nice evening when Donna posts a new video. This pattern is fascinating. Thanks Donna.
love this...i watched a video from 2017 using the same pattern only using dark corners to get a totally different look. Now to choose which to make... maybe both? Thank you Donna for making each of your tutorials that inspire people to be creative!!
