I stopped at that site when I did the coast to coast in May, it was my favourite site of the entire 10 day hike! It has everything a walker needs. The host was fantastic, she made us breakfast butties at 7am to set us on our way. The pub was quirky, I bet your table was booked for 6pm? Locals go in at 8pm. And yeah, don't mention chips 😂😂😂 It was the best thing I've ever done in my life, I would recommend doing 12-14 days and stay in pubs and hostels, the 16kg backpack was a killer! I highly recommend it.
Firstly well done you for completing the coast to coast - respect ! It’s a brilliant site isn’t it! I couldn’t get over the little shop and campers kitchen! And yes the host was so friendly. Quirky is it - and yes 6pm but do you know what I loved it! Everyone was chatting about their journeys and it was so great to listen to them. Hi guys another cracking vlog, you go to some really nice places,we dont like grass pitches as we have a motorhome but they seem ideal for you. Keep up the good work, see you soon x
Thank you - we tend to avoid the grass pitches when we get another month or so on or after periods of sustained or heavy rain. They have a hand standing pitch which would be great in those times when it’s been raining. See you soon - all the very best, David & Rachel 👍❤️
Yes, I did the coast to coast in 1997 and stopped off for a refresher at the Swan pub, but I did the walk the opposite way round, from Robin hood bay to St Bee's. It took me 13 days and it rained for 12 of those lol. But it was great anyway, loved it.❤.
Well done you for completing it! How did you cope in all that rain for 12 days??!! We loved the pub - very different and quirky but a great atmosphere and we loved listening to everyone’s update on their walks I’m so glad you enjoyed it and what an achievement Rachel & David 💗

Hi guys . Checked out the site for a night and found it very good indeed . All you need is there . The White Swan pub is very quiet however .. no music or any other modern age distractions ( on one table a game of scrabble was in process) . We had a very nice meal however . All in all very worthy of a visit .
What a shame the church has no name but at least I know where Elvis is. You really made me laugh with the Fenton reference. Never done Coast to Coast but admire those who have. Great drone shots. Take care Gill
