Consultants are hired for 2 main reasons.
1) Because the company lacks a certain set of skills and doesn't need those skills full time. The problem with this is that you won't be able to assess if the consultant is capable because you lack the skills to know the job you are hiring them for - and the most important skill for a consultant is getting new work - so they will lie about their capabilities - or bring in relevant experts to get the deal signed, who will never work on your project.
Or 2) As a scapegoat for your idea as a manager. If anyone tries to change, improve (omg then you have to share credit) or stop your ideas - you smack them with the report. Then, if the idea turns out to be bad (or you bodged the execution), then you get to blame the consultants (assuming you hadn't already quit that job to move into a new role, using the consultants praise of your ideas and progress reports from the consultant glowing up your work)
I didn't even know I needed this kind of validation that I felt after reading this comment.

Consultants are hired by governments to deflect blame when the consultants recommend what the government wants to do, but doesn't have the guts to admit they want to do it. Mind you this was a while ago before the whole Trump lawsuits but I heard that apparently the polls said Americans don't want either Trump or Biden. I want to hear others opinions but I think the average American has kind of realised both parties are like our Liberal party (all be it one more extreme than the other) and there's no longer a party or candidate large enough proposing good policies.

The writers are striking because they have hugely unsafe work, and are coming up with brilliant ideas and story boards, creating pilots and entire first seasons, getting fired, replaced with a single part time worker who draws the threads between major plot points and edits and screws everything up (hence why shows are chaotic and crap) and he's laughing at their concerns because shows suck now. OF COURSE THEY DO! The writers who created it get fired and replaced! No writers on set anymore, to help guide the feel and production of a movie/show. Being paid less for TV shows, on services like Netflix, despite these being the new premier way of watching shows and movies ect.
It's his crap, ignorant takes like this that make me think twice about his 'good' content. I am a labor voter too, but he's so hard to trust on big issues when you know how much BS he talks super confidently when he knows nothing about issues like this.
It's the same with Ali, any time they discuss something that I have a decent awareness of he gets certain things so objectively wrong (I mean facts now, not just shit takes I disagree with), that it fills me with doubt about the subjects they discuss which I'm not so informed on. I think it was in the last ep he spoke about when Australia moved from a "second world country to a first world country", which shows such a deep misunderstanding of those terms and how they have been used. And I thought economics was supposed to be his thing?

My old man decided to work as a consultant 15 years ago. Did it successfully for about 10 years. But for all the right reasons. He is totally blind, has lead a full life.
But yeah so many of these BS consultants are just BS, money for doing nothing.
But there are some good ones out there.

Rent Seekers and Sweat Shop Workers.
The rent seekers tend to work in the upper levels, potentially are partners. They tend to walk in, talk smooth in meetings, sell what ever the new flavour of the month is to every client and for many companies are snake oil salesmen which result in Companies swapping Consultancy firm every 3 years. Hire Deloitte to fix problem A, then hire Accenture in 3 years to fix the issues Deloitte caused, then hire EY to fix the problems Accenture didnt fix AND the ones Accenture created, then in 3 years You hire deloitte and rinse repeat.
The sweat shop workers are the ones that are usually working on the physical projects or being attached to low value SMB clients where good consultancy is make or break, they are generally paid less than full time corpo's in similar roles but fuck do they work for it

Hey guys, You guys should look into the reason why Adhd Diagnosis in austraila is getting more and more expensive. Like its now explicitly excluded from psychiatric rebates and to get a diagnosis your looking at around 2000 dollars or more.... Sure seems that the people who manage to get a diagnosis are probably to one who need it leased as the adhd is a motivation disorder more than an attention disorder.

The guys are out and out leftists, i love them for that, but i dont get why they are both leftist and believe in meritocracy? That kind of ignores all class issues. Of course women perform better when the entirety of society is built around protecting them, getting them cushy jobs and making sure theyre well educated purely so men can be in the manual labor sectors where they can be used like disposable wipes and the women can have enormous amounts of money to spend to keep the economy and the corporate oligarchies going. Pretty much everything wrong with the world can be explained by gender imbalances. Too many men working? Look at the incel nations of india and china. Too many women? Look at us, we suck. I dont want women to stop working if they dont want to i just want a more egalitarian society where people dont have to work two jobs and the genders share the same amount of labor rather than pawning off undesirable work to the other one. Hence why guys should do housework and women should do plumbing lol

I think what is a shame about the boys underperforming is I feel that education systems are very much geared to getting well-off girls into cushy jobs at the expense of boys from poorer backgrounds for example this could be due to more female teachers but punishing rowdiness more and having lessons that are based solely off fitting a designated mold when it comes to your grades is what I would guess has left these boys behind. Its also frustrating because we had these gender quotas and encourages more female teachers because the opposite was unfair but no one wants to suggest that maybe the adult women teaching them dont understand young boys? Thats a problem with these kinds of things, they underestimate the empathy of the group theyre railing against and overestimate the wisdom of the group theyre advocating to be in more positions. So now boys are now going to grow up to be a permanent underclass who can only get the manual jobs that coincidentally none of the women advocating for more diversity were encouraging women to get into lol
