Wow it never crossed my mind that the character who Impales you with his tail, blows up spaceships and is literally called the cunning god of death is the most dangerous fighter.
The scary part is that we cant account for how much Ridley himself is pushing down into the asphalt, because it's one thing to let your body "fall" onto someone but it's another thing to also use your muscles to really mince them into nothingness, and also Ridley's slouched so he would also be taller therefore adding even more weight

Ridley was the character i wanted most in the game. Hearing he could impale using his tail was enough and then i saw his side B and my brain went "Damn, Theyre dead." Makes me love the guy more to be honest. Id love to hear how fast Ridley can fly, We know he can fly in space which would have way less forces acting on him, we know he can fly faster than F-Zero and Samus`s ship. How fast can he truly go? Near speed of sound in an atmosphere then he be tearing through space or foreign atmospheres.
The best part is that this isn't even his final form. Ridley literally flies through space with his wings. Imagine a literal spaceship grinding you against the floor. Which makes me think... If Samus is able to combat a creature with strength and speed comparible to a space ship, how strong is Samus?
According to some comics i've heard about TOO OFTEN on the vs forums, she's continent levels of tough. As in, explosion that reduces Asia to a crater, doesn't hurt her. So i'd say that checks out.
Honestly a good mayority of the cast could be able to survive this... That's why the topic of powerscaling (determining in a tier list sort of way who is the strongest) every smash character is pretty appealing to me.

And this isn't taking into account Ridley's OTHER ridiculous abilities. He is capable of surviving in the vacuum of space for extended periods, his skin is durable enough to withstand numerous hits from high-explosive missiles and directed energy weapons, he has the ability to project streams of high-intensity plasma from his mouth, his regenerative capabilities are incredible, and he's an extremely intelligent tactician and naval commander. His title, Cunning god of Death, is well earned.
There's a slight mistake here in this calculation, MatPat. I can't guarantee you'll see it, but Ridley actually is crouching during his "standing" animation. To get an accurate estimation of his full height, one of his taunts actually shows him standing up straight. I'd recalculate this myself for you but frankly I'm tired and lazy. As far as calculations go with what you've used, it's solid, however it's likely much more damaging.
To be fair, in Metroid we're seen Ridley physically traverse from planet to planet with nothing but his own two wings on several occasions, hell he even does it in smash during his final smash. He's even seen outspeeding Samus' gunship on several occasions (albeit he usually has a headstart which means he's at least keeping pace with the ship). So the breakneck speeds that we see him moving at here are to be expected. In fact it's probably on the lower end of the speed feats he's got under his belt.

As a rule for hypothetical math undershooting is usually better and has less hyperbole than overshooting it, and worst case scenario, add to the numbers. So all in all, most characters aren't upwards of 7ft in smash, and with full height and weight it only gets worse presumably.

i just realized matt didn't measure ridley standing up, he was still slouching.
There's a slight mistake here in this calculation, MatPat. I can't guarantee you'll see it, but Ridley actually is crouching during his "standing" animation. To get an accurate estimation of his full height, one of his taunts actually shows him standing up straight. I'd recalculate this myself for you but frankly I'm tired and lazy. As far as calculations go with what you've used, it's solid, however it's likely much more damaging.

To be fair, in Metroid we're seen Ridley physically traverse from planet to planet with nothing but his own two wings on several occasions, hell he even does it in smash during his final smash. He's even seen outspeeding Samus' gunship on several occasions (albeit he usually has a headstart which means he's at least keeping pace with the ship). So the breakneck speeds that we see him moving at here are to be expected. In fact it's probably on the lower end of the speed feats he's got under his belt.

As a rule for hypothetical math undershooting is usually better and has less hyperbole than overshooting it, and worst case scenario, add to the numbers. So all in all, most characters aren't upwards of 7ft in smash, and with full height and weight it only gets worse presumably.
