The aa is soooo annoying, especially on golmud railway, they just sit out there in the open and you cant cross half the map if you are in a jet/helicopter
I am a really good AA operator. But I can honestly say that I have had no shortage of hotshot pilots (mostly jets more than helos) just totally dominate me or avoid me altogether. (Especially on Golmud Railway) The most annoying way to die in this situation is when I get JDAM'ed to death. Usually two does it & regardless of how fast you jump out & repair if the pilot is really good there is no way you will survive. If they somehow keep hitting you with JDAMs then your run in the AA is ending soon. Nonetheless some of my best plus 20 killstreaks are in the AA.
That feeling when you inspire jolly cooperation in the enemy team with your 69:0 MAA... to such extent that they synergize in coordinated attack of 2 sneaky C4 buggys, 2 tanks, 1 IFV, Attack chopper, both Stealth Jet AND Attack jet with the little bird, while being locked by 3 javelins... somehow, someway I survived that through epic cooperataion with my buddy in a tank, F for his sacrifice ... at the end, when I popped up to repair my burning AA, I got instantly Headshoted by sniper that was locking on now dead javelins... he stole the MAA and boasted in chat - which got him banned since stealing enemy vehicles was against servers rules... I kinda feel bad for him, they did hella of good job...
Thank you for explaining really well that true AA drivers are not sit in the base pansies. I have a slightly different set up. I use the 20mm because they make hitting things from a distance especially planes very easy. The 20mm also has a longer sustained fire time. I don't use prox and instead use belt loader so I can fire the 20mms for more time. It does leave me a little vulnerable when I enter more infy heavy areas, but it's worth it I think. Aps and zunis are the same. If you get good with them, you can hit tanks from quite a distance. Also the second you get in the aa, switch to the zunis and fire a rocket and reload.
I love the MAA simply because it's just about the only thing that can actually deal with attack helicopters before they can run away. Fuck your 20 killstreak, fight like a man.
Most cancerous (aka effective) loadout in my opinion is 30mm, active radar (even after the nerf they're still ridiculously good), APS, thermal optics, reactive armor. No need for zuni because the 30mm has enough splash damage to deal with hiding infantry, and you can drive away from enemy tanks if they meet you head on, then unload 30mm at them from the sides later. APS for obvious reasons, and reactive to increase overall surviveabilty against critical hits. However, replacing reactive armor with radar isn't a bad choice, it will make sneaky c4 players completely powerless against you so that's nice. With this loadout you can still be aggressive, plus have your OP active missiles always with you. 95% of the time even good pilots won't be quick enough to react.
Used this but with active radar missiles so if I wanted I could sit back for a sec and target aircraft and when I get bored, free fire the active radar at tanks. Worked like a charm! Many hate messages from the sweaty pilots who didn’t get many kills or even much flight time at all.
Subbed! Also rarity of the prettiest of unicorns! Its funny how people hate it, but nobody ever seems to like use it properly and all of the people who do nothing but hog the Attack/scout helis(who lets be honest are often terrible infantry players) Always complain about the Mobile AA since its the only Vehicle that CAN counter it and unlike the Attack helicopters/scout helicopters the Mobile AA actually has some weaknesses that take a great deal of skill to conceal to master it. Personally I always thought the Scout heli was the Most OP/infuriating vehicle to go up against in BF4, its the smallest target in the game(besides infantry), but it moves really freaking fast AND it can easily change directions AND to use it effectively(I just started trying to use it/understand it and im already getting easy kills) And frankly its a lot easier to get kills with a scout heli than playing in infantry. This was an issue I always had with BF4, honestly it was a LOT worse on the 360, As siege of shanghai and a lot of maps that have Mobile AA on PC DON'T On console.
@@veliki_dlek I mean if you drive out of your spawn aggressively hunting for air vehicles and getting your hands dirty that’s fine, MAAV players shooting out of their spawn on the other hand…
@@natusMCMII Yeah it's annoying especially on the Langy Dam map they can just plop their fat unemployed butt down and spam across the map right at your base
My style of M-mutha-f-in' AA, 30mm and Zunis. I'll try Zoom and Proximity; I completely forgot about proximity scan as a driver upgrade in BF4 which is why I default to FLIR to check for mines. That said, it's a vehicle of opportunity for me to pick up and lock down the middle flag. Not something I spawn in at base. I unlocked all the upgrades in less than a handful of games on China Rising with cannons then Zunis only, felt so dirty.
Love rushing aa.. Always pick thermal and thermos camo... Or maps tight packed, active protection.. Being a nub lvl 40 and getting 59 8... That was playing for pure fun at end getting killed
Precisely, you run an identical spec as I do on the MAA, and for the same reasons, however I only attack aircraft that are attacking me most of the time, because I'm spotting and stalking enemy armour and infantry.
Passive radar missiles are the bomb, fire while not locked, wait for the missiles to pass, acquire the lock and the missiles are moving so fast they give the pilot zero warning to flare
There are different ways to use the MAA, but i use it the way it's used in real life: an anti-air vehicle. I've never played agressivley with it. I don't use reactive armor or zuni rockets. I equip passive radar, 20mm cannons, zoom optics air radar and APS. Then, i sit directly next to my spawn's AA gun and supress infantry and destroy air vehicles. I don't think it's made for close range supporting fire.
passive air rockets wait for them to get low on a gun run and make sure you're close to them so they dont have time to deploy counter measures and the mobility hit will cause them to crash
ya I know what you mean you can do more with zuni and more damage but when there is pro heli with pro TV missle that snipes all your armour I take em out with rocket at range thanks for your comment PS my way your fucked if a tank shows up :) lol
Im 4 years late but i must say this is the most helpful AA video for bf4
Glad it helped ya!
MetroBoomin326 #1 hi
The aa is soooo annoying, especially on golmud railway, they just sit out there in the open and you cant cross half the map if you are in a jet/helicopter
It's not so much that the effective range is too far, it's that there's nowhere to hide or mask your movements on Golmud like with the city maps.

As to Jets taking out all the tanks
Helicopters suffer the most against that stupid aa tank
LOL, he killed a guy named, "EmployedBlackMan"
Guess he's unemployed now
What I find funny is that the main complaint i hear about the AA is that it's so powerful when it sits in spawn, which is completely untrue
Well I always play defensive with the maa, but in zavod I play aggressive

"One second against infantry"
Please... I dump 100 rounds + rockets into someone and they still get c4 on me
But that wasn't a second
Keep up the good work!
Thanks!

One thing to mention is to be close to a friendly tank that way you both can take down armored threats.

Think they should replace the 4 barrel guns with 4 minigun a.Now that would make it effective as well as add more rockets.
This vehicle is a plague.
I shudder to imagine more players using it in an aggressive role, instead of the usual 2000 meters away from everything.
***** I do that when I use it, frequently beat MBT's with it but man I hate it still.

To passionate BF Pilots the MAA is missing the V in the name...that's right, the MAAV (mobile anti air virgin)
Lol
Pilots also known as massive virgins that cry when their magic wand is countered

Its ok but when a tank or Lav comes for you thats it your done.
satisfying hit markers and points #STONKS

Fantastic vid! Thanks!
My main problem why AA is not the good players, but when bad players keep using them on my team.

Nice job wasting the vehicle for your team.
Clearly a noob.
Iron wolf's dad True lol
wow people get so mad
uhhhh yea.., the MAA with Prox-Scan and Zuni-Rockets to get hostile armor to bugger off
guess i gotta try it
I can't even use an anti-aircraft vehicle
I love using this on hardcore golmud, sitting on a hill and melting aircraft with 30mm cannons
Honestly, I am surprised there is no video on how to counter really damn good pilots.
passive air rockets wait for them to get low on a gun run and make sure you're close to them so they dont have time to deploy counter measures and the mobility hit will cause them to crash

Is it bad that whenever I get it I always clean the air of enemy aircrafts?
Nah cause its easy to do. Really overpowered cause you can pretty much shoot down all aircraft without moving from spawn.
Id say No to zuni rockets as this vehicol is ment to take out air rock the homeing rockets they waste air
+savagex466 Taking out aircraft with guns is pretty easy when you're not in the base. Hence the swap to Zunis.

Those aa tank are more annoying than people think they are especially since there’s other things we have to worry about while flying too
Still no nerf for the AA’s? no wonder every pilot has left the game...
You been ingame lately? lmao
you gonna keep crying or l2p?
I keep trying to practice jets and the pilots just swoosh behind me in less than 10 seconds
well I'm here now
This is why mobile AA can't be a MOBILE AA because it gets fucked by JDAMS and other launchers and vehicles
I love this dude (no homo)
I am new to bf4 and I wanna be a good helicopter pilot but aa fuckers me want to die
I never go aa but Jesus so many cod scrubs park there ass near base
i despise AA
