So, I compared his game in the tournaments he did well at (Mallorca, Washington and Wimbledon) to get him that incredible ranking. The huge difference that I saw/see is that he has stopped accelerating into the court on his service motion and moving his feet to get into optimal position. That was part of why he was able to set up his shots as cleanly has he did. I sent him a DM about it - with no response. When his serve is firing, it is because he is moving into the court and really maximixing his serves complete potential. The foot movement is critical for him to be in position to his his shots because his technique demands it - his backhand especially. I like the guy soooooo much. He has weapons that are huge. I wish him the best.
I don't say this to be mean....I like Chris Eubanks. I hope his pro tennis career is almost over. I'm sure he loves playing, but he is far better as a color analyst than he is as a tennis player. I mean...he is REALLY, REALLY good as an analyst. I route for him, and I wish him all the success in the world, but I hope we get to one day here his analysis full time on the ATP/WTA tours.
