You didn’t talk at all about the removal of the shutter system. What effects do you think that has? Any codes thrown because it’s not there? Maybe that’s why the temps went up so drastically when you let off the gas? Maybe the shutter system plays a roll in keeping the “not under boost” line more flat/consistent? Think it would be possible to rig the shutter system onto that cooler?
Great point. I believe the shutter system is there to aid with fuel economy. Denser air requires more fuel. In the video I show that I keep the shutter motor connected to the wiring harness to prevent any CEL issues. So far, so good. The Bronco is running better than ever and I suspect once summer comes the Intercooler will help even more. Also, the Intercooler is too thick to allow the shutter system to be installed.
Oh I may have skipped over the part where you plugged the shutter motor back in! I was wondering why all that work on the shutters if you just left them off 😂. Have you started keeping track of your fuel economy to test that hypothesis? I thought they were meant for heating the engine by keeping the charge air a little warmer until the engine reached operating temp. Wish we could talk to the engineers sometimes.
Has more to do with the temp of the air that goes into the combustion chamber. The colder the air = more power. I haven’t tracked MPG as of yet, as I’ve been beating on her pretty good this past week. I’ll have a normal week soon enough post an update at some point.

Man this is a good channel/vid. Seriously thank you for all the work you put in on these. I’m greatly enjoying both short and long formats.
Thank you!
Another great video. Thank you!
Thanks for the help installing it 🙏
Thanks. Really tempted by this, but not sure about ditching the intercooler shutters. Seems like Mishimoto's design allows you to retain them...
Both are great options 👍
