Things you need to know about this pattern...
1. This pattern is made to measure. (A tape measure is essential. All of the measurements are provided below, you just need to measure your garment as you progress through the pattern).
2. As it is made to measure you can use any weight yarn and any size hook.
3. There is an option to stop wide sleeves whilst making the hexagons.
4. You can make it as long as you wish.
5. It includes a thinner sleeve option, hood, buttons and buttonholes and pockets.
Here are some yarn estimates based on a short length version in DK yarn and a 5mm hook...
Please note the yarn measurements are estimates and it all depends on the yarn/hook you are using and the length that you go for!

This is the first video I’ve seen. I’m glad I found you. I love this cardigan and your enthusiasm. You make it so fun. I’ve subscribed. This was an excellent tutorial. I forgot to say that the colors are pretty. Thanks 🫶🏼
Thank you so much 😍🥰
I love what you doing in everything I knit or crochet I use color I love bright colors. I wear scarfs that have many colors jumpers color are good for your health and your mind.
Thank you, yes I couldn't agree more 😊
Ow I absolutely love this, much prefer it to the granny square stitch type (sorry for the lack of technical terms.) 😂
Aww thank you so much!! 😍😊
Love the blag it attitude. Spent literally years popping back to crochet and getting overwhelmed with never finishing anything as I was always off with my stitch count. Now I very rarely count but i know the score so it’s usually down to a pattern 9/10 and so I appreciate you saying that to anyone new cos honestly I didn’t hear it enough lmao. x
Yes blag all the way! I'm also not a fan of patterns with stitch counts as I like to chill on the sofa and watch TV when I am crocheting and if I have to count then I need absolute silence 🤣
What an awesome tutorial! Thank you so much for addressing so many different options for the hexagram cardigan. I especially wanted a non-granny option, because the solid one just looks so much warmer. Also, many thanks for putting it in US terms. (I've tried before to convert it from English terms and have been hopelessly pathetic at so doing). Am looking forward to seeing many more of your videos! :-)
You are very welcome!
Thank you for this awesome tutorial! I loved how you cinched in the bottom with ribbing! Also, thank you for making it so easy to understand how to crochet rows for buttons! I love my cardi so much that I'm making another!

Once i finish my jumper I will get onto this, bless you lots for taking the time to show us all

Honey you could put a small button on back to to secure the big button from stretching (?)
Hi! Love your videos, I've already made the granny cardigan and I get compliments on it non stop. I'm working on this one, but I feel like it's screaming at me to be turned into a proper hoodie. Any tips/suggestions for closing up the front? I think I can wrap my head around the pouch part, but closing the front, knowing where to stop and how to finish it off is doing my head in 😂
OMG this one has a hood
Ha ha yes it does and a narrow sleeve option if you don't like them getting too wide ❤️😊
Hi Kelly love your hexagon card's please can you make crocheted trousers 👖 💕x
Thank you!! ❤️
Your voice reminds me of Jodie Whittiker. Kinda a kick to feel like I'm getting instructions from Dr. Who ;) !

Hi Juan. I love the color you chose for the tutorials. Are you able to add the written instructions in your videos? Also, can you link the yarns you are using in the description box? I love the simple pattern. It will come in handy for Christmas gifts! Thank you for sharing!

It's the best way to be 👍🏻🤣
Thanks for all you do. Will there be a written pattern for this as well?
Thank you so much I really appreciate that!! Yes I will be working on the written version shortly ❤️
I was wondering have you ever used the yarn called Crafters secret Big Ideal yarn...& if you did is it good yarn to work with.
Hi no I haven't. I haven't heard of it either! 😀
How do hexagon cardigans look in one color? My yarn situation now is the reason I ask. Have never made one and I love multi-color - just wondering ....
I think they look lovely in one colour. I would love a mustard one but I always get side tracked and start adding in extra colours 😆
Hi I'm sorry is there a written pattern for this ?
I love the look of it all together so much
Hi! Yes there is a written pattern, here is the link 🥰 www.craftandacuppa.com/product-page/the-solid-hexi-cardi-children-and-adult-sizes
I'm also on Etsy and Ravelry 🥰
@@CraftandaCuppa thank you so much I'm sorry if I was daft and missed your link!
@@clionakelly8741 you're absolutely fine! 🥰
When you try on the jacket, there is a hat and a wall hanging (mandala) in the background. Do you have tutorials for those? 😊
Yes it's the Free Spirit Peaked Cap and I have a tutorial for that.
ruclips.net/video/2mGc8ks9nJc/видео.html
The wall hanging was a free pattern from Mijocrochet I think it's the Frozen Lotus. It's been a few years since I made it. I used scheepjes cahlista which is like a worsted weight yarn, that's why it came out so big. I need a bigger frame for it really as its a bit droopy 🙈
I really want to try this, but I can never decide what colours to use!
Do you have any scrap yarn? That can be fun to use!
So the front and back panels grow as rhe sleeve grows? If that question Makes sense
Yes they do 🥰
Hi there love this cardigan…is there a written pattern I can purchase. I don’t see it on your website. thanks
Thank you!! Not at the moment but I will be working on it soon! 😍
Can you make this longer in length ty
Yes you can make it as long as you wish! ❤️👍🏻
Hi Kelly
I would love to have a try at this gorgeous pattern.
Would 890 yards of chunky yarn be enough for a M adult size do you think? Would use a size 8 hook rather than the recommended 6.5
Thanks so much
Lindsay
I honestly would not like to say in case I get it wrong 🙈🤣 Yes you can use any hook you prefer! Sometimes I even use a 10mm with chunky. Usually to speed the process up 😆
@@CraftandaCuppa no, I understand it’s difficult to assess. Might be safer to get some extra yarn in a different colour and do stripes. I just fancied doing one colour but the yarn has been discontinued and can’t risk running out 🙊
Love your tutorials ❤️
@@user-mz9em4id3h it's so annoying when they discontinue yarn 🙃
why don't we count our stitches at the end of each round to be sure we have the correct number or/and if we start with the sevne (7) does that mean each row increases by 2 or 4?
Hi I do mention in the video how to keep a track of the stitch count 🙂 so basically each side goes up by 4 sts on every round. Round one has 3 sts in each side, Round 2 has 7 sts on each side, Round 3 has 11, Round 4 has 15 and so on and so on. I hope this helps 😊❤️
So I'm not changing colors (using Loops & Threads Northern Lights), so once I put my stitch markers in and start on the width, do I still chain 3 and then continue to DC or do I just DC in same stitch and continue on to corner to 2DC, ch 2, 2DC and so on to the next corner to DC and turn? (Does that make sense?)
@@bridgettel8217 ummmm, I'm struggling to think what you mean 😆 you will always start each row with a ch3 then continue with your DC 😬❤️😆
Got it. That's what I did. 😊Ch 3, then continued on with DC. Thank you! I can't wait to see the finished result! However, I need to order more yarn to finish. The yarn that I have was from my mom's stash before she passed. So this hexi-cardi, once finished, will be like she's hugging me when I wear it. 🥰
@@bridgettel8217 that's beautiful and will be such a nice garment to treasure ❤️
I love this pattern and I’m trying really hard to make it right now. It’s very easy you’re directions are really good on how to make it, but my problem is I don’t know the metric system and I don’t know what 710 g are for 3X. I’m feeling kind of silly, but I don’t know how you convert because you can’t convert grams to inches. Can you explain this to me otherwise I’m going to have to find a different pattern I guess. I am in America and we don’t do grams and centimeters here so it’s kind of hard to follow patterns that use those measurements. Thank you for listening and your help.
Hi no that's just much yarn I used. So here in the UK the DK yarn often comes in 100g skeins, so if it's 710g you would need 8 skeins of DK. Does that make sense. The rest of the pattern is measured in CMS but you can easily use inches by looking at the other side of your tape measure ❤️
Sorry I mean *it's how much yarn I used*
@@CraftandaCuppa Thank you!
Don’t feel silly. I use google to convert cm to inches. And I think you can convert weight as well. I never thought to turn my measuring tape over. Duh. 🙄
Thanks! I will learn the differences. Just getting old enough to not keep up a bit. Lol
At last a british voice, phew what a releif.Love the tutorial,am following along, just need to find the measurements i need.
Hello! If you are following on your phone, then you need to click the title of my video and then click "more" and it will bring up all of the measurements that you need to make this cardigan ☺️
