- Hi everyone. Here is a quick tutorial on how to decrease and cuff a Granny Stitch Sleeve. This can also be used as an extra add on for The Granny Peplum Pattern which does not have a cuff sleeve option.

Thank you so much. This is all I needed to finish my cardigan.
You’re welcome 😊
This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you so much! I'm freehanding a cropped granny stitch sweater right now and realised i don't have enough experience with ribbing to make the sleeves do what I want them to
You are so welcome! 🤗
This video is just in time!!! I was worried about how to add a cuff to my granny cardigan. Thank you!!!’
You are very welcome! 🙂🎉
Thank you your so helpful
Thank god for you ! I have made 2 hexagon cardies and hate the big sleeve and you have saved the day ! Thank you you are a crochet goddess 🌸💖🌸💖
Aww thank you so much. I actually have a hack to stop the dreaded wide sleeve that a hexi Cardi can give. It's in my new tutorial for a solid hexi cardi but it's the same principle for the granny stitch one as well. That section is also time stamped in the description of the video so you can head straight there for future reference!

Thank you! You explained this in a way that's very easy to understand. I'm not so nervous about attempting to cuff a cardi now.
You are very welcome 🤗
YAY for a video with front and back post version rather than the SC in back loop back and forth rib. Saving this in my playlist of videos for how to for others. Many thanks.
You're very welcome!
This video was perfect! Thank you for your wonderful explanation and for being true to yourself and laughing! Absolutely loved it!
@@pink_panda_arts aww thank you so much!
I cannot thank you enough! I have been working on a hexagon cardigan and I could not follow the OPs cuffs and very nearly packed the whole thing in all together! I happened to stumble on your video and am now the proud owner of a fully functioning beautiful cuff (one to go 😅) thankyou so very much ❤❤
Ahh amazing! I'm glad to have helped in your hour of need!!
Thankyou for this fab video. Have never done a crochet rib before. You made it so easy to follow although I will probably have to watch it again when I do the se on sleeve.
Glad it was helpful! 🤩🤗

Thankyou so much for posting this!! It was super helpful I couldn't find any cuff tutorials that explain it as well as you anywhere! I finally was able to finish my 8 year old daughter's sweater with your cuffs😊

@@kristi285 no worries 🥰❤️
Awesome tutorial on cuffs. The best I found. 🎉
Thats great to hear, thank you so much!
Thank you so so much just finished my first cardigan and realised i had no idea how to cuff
AHH amazing! Glad to be of assistance!
Thank you so much for this! I was following a hexi cardigain pattern and just felt that the bagginess of the sleeves makes it too 'in the way' and annoying to do much wearing and these cuffs are perfect. Have only done SC BLO for ribbing before but I love this version, gives it so much more texture!
Glad to have helped! ❤️☺️
Excellent tutorial

Thanks for a very clear and easy to follow video.
You are very welcome ♥️
Your explanations were very easy to follow & understand!! Did you / can you, do the ribbing all around the edge of the cardigan? Wasn't paying attention at that part. Am going to try my luc!!
Yes you can do whatever you wish to the edging of a cardi 🥰
Thanks for sharing! I just finished the sleeves of my cardigan with beautiful cuffs. 😊

Is there a way to create a thumbhole in the cuff with this type of ribbing? Amazing pattern nearly finished mine 😍🥰

I’ve come back to say I’ve used the method and my cuffs really pull my cardigan together. Your tutorial makes me even more proud of my hard work 🥰🥰
@@MrBiskit66 thank you so much for coming back! ❤️

@@cnking38 you are very welcome 😀
Glad you did this video I just wish you did in a plain colour
Can you switch to knit rib for the cuff where you start the double crochet back and front posts
Yes of course!
Can i do a back loop songle crochet ribbing or does it have to be this when im ribbing my granny stitch work?
You can do whatever ribbing that you desire!
Cool, I’ll use this tutorial. P.s…are you from Suffolk?
Thank you, no I'm from Norfolk 🙂
This video is great, ok, yes entertaining as well. You explained it perfectly.
Do you know the name of the multi-colored yarn 🧶❓❓
Its lionbrand ice-cream but someone over on Instagram has just said that it's been discontinued 🙈
Hey girl. Your awesome. How much would you sell your sweater like this one for . I have made several.and people want to buy them. It takes me about 25- 35 hours to make one. Not totally sure at this time. Will time next one. Thank you and i share your videos with everyone that crochets!! I call you blessed!!❤❤❤
Thank you! I really have no idea how to go about pricing your makes. I think it all comes down to your own decision on that, definitely don't under sell your work though! Are you on any Facebook groups? Sometimes people can help give you a rough idea on there as they regularly sell their work. I dont as I'm super selfish and keep everything for myself 🤣🤣🤣
I have very big sleeves would I just do the same thing? I’m kind of confused
Are you saying to make it tigher, repeat the first row by doing 1sc, 2tog???
You could do that or you could add more decreases on the first row 🥰
Thanks
You're welcome 😊
2:33 i understand that the chain is just for height .. so does that mean that you start your first sc in the slip stitch with the chain one?
I so needed to know how to do this!! Would this be used for the waistband of a granny square skirt?
I'm not sure about adding a decrease round as you may not be able to pull the skirt over your hips but you could definitely add the ribbing and then weave in a little tie made up of a long chain. 🙂
@@CraftandaCuppa Thank you 😊!!
I followed this tutorial for the first cuff and it seemed to come out perfectly fitted. However I started the second cuff and it’s slouchy. Im honestly at a loss on why. I’ve pulled the stitching out 6 times now to try again and get a tighter fit but it’s not working out. Any advice??
How do i keep ending up the 2 more stitches in my double crochet row than i have in my single crochet single crochet two together row? Im lost
Ooh I'm not sure but I wouldn't worry about it! As long as you have an evening number of sts for the ribbing and it's a nice fit then it will all be ok! Just make sure you do the exact same thing for the opposite side ❤️
🤗🥰🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
I want to do this at the bottom of my hexi cardigan. How would I do that?
@@lydiabacon8719 I wouldn't make any increases and then. Just go along the bottom with a SC row and ending on a odd number, then do a DC row, then you can do fpdc, bpdc all the way across and you should end on a fpdc 👍🏼
@@CraftandaCuppa and then just flip it? I’m struggling to figure out to not do it in the round.
@@lydiabacon8719 yes you would turn your work after each round! I've just remembered that I added ribbing to my Solid Hexi Cardi. Here is the link and the bottom ribbing is timestamped in the description of the video. If you click on it, it will take you to that part of the video. I think it was 1hr 30mins in..... ruclips.net/video/LZYYg60JmhA/видео.html
Hope this helps 👍🏼❤️
@@CraftandaCuppathank you!!!
Love the colours of the yarn ❤
What make is it?
Thank you. Its lionbrand Ice-cream ❤️
8:49 lol just need this for myself
somehow i did the decreasing for a tighter fit and end up with an odd number
That's ok you can either skip out the last stitch or add one extra stitch so it ends up a odd number 😊 Sorry for my late response this comment seems to have slipped past me 🙈
"Little bit chunkier"...I'm crying because I'm using chunky wool as it is 😭
Hey, can anyone on here please tell me why my sleeve would be hanging over my cuff please? Thanks
Hi that would be because your sleeve is long in length before adding the cuff. You can frog back some of your sleeve and then redo your cuff 🥰
@@CraftandaCuppa thanks!
🦇
I dont really understand the explanation what do i do if my cuffs are too loose. You said "instead of single crochet, two together you can single crochet, two together"
I managed to figure it out myself, i did two together all the time without making the single crochets and i got half the amount of stitches so it came out perfectly because i had so many stitches in the beginning
@@natonaa9681 I went through all these comments to find this one!! Thank you so much, I had to rewind and listen over and over for the instructions and I knew I heard her say the same thing as the first instructions. Your a life saver!!!!
