You are the first person who I’ve ever seen actually explain how to sew the piece together, instead of just saying “sew the pieces together” And I’m always like but howwww 😭😭 thank you so much!!!
Can’t wait to try this. I’ve made my first cardigan ever and it’s turned out very oversized so I’ll be making a cuff and this was very easy to follow thank you!
Great tutorial I was struggling with this on another tutorial. I’m getting it now you are a great teacher. Great close ups to really see how to stitch it ❤❤😊
Thank you so much, very informative, easy to understand with very clear instructions and showing us too. You can’t go wrong as even I’ve done it and nailed it first go. So now I’ve completed my Cardigan and even put lovely cuffs on it that it didn’t have, as well as a couple of rows around to neaten it up a bit and it’s a star..
I am so happy bcs of u I was able to make it in one day . And the ribbing part instead of being perfect I made it extra loose but you are the best and I'll try to Improve my mistakes.
Thanks. Making a cardigan pattern for ribbing was front post and back post. Thought it looked untidy this looks so much neater. 1st cardigan I've made for myself.
This is a great tutorial. I completed my first sweater (for my dog) and really wanted to trim it out with cuffs on the bottom and on the cuffs. Your tutorial really helped me kick it up a notch! Thank you so much!
This video was super well made and easy to follow 👍 I'm making my first cardigan and the first video I watched showed ribbing attached separately and I was hoping there was an easier way
Can we just appreciate her liking and answering all our comments also ty Soo much for making this video and I love how u explain soooo well u earned a new sub ❤
thank you so much for this! i’m currently sorta free handing a sweater and realised that the opening at the top is far too big so i wanted to make a collar that isn’t super cinched, but couldn’t remember how many slst per row turn i had to make. this is just what i needed to get back on track❤
Made a cardigan and the sleeve pattern they had (even the biggest) was too tight. This was soooo easy to follow and has now helped make my work complete. TYSM ❤❤❤
thank you so much! i´m currently knitting my first project ever (a sweater) and honestly i think i made a mistake by using fluffy yarn since i´m using smaller needles for it. i tried knitting the cuff but it was just hard for me to do the changes of stitches with it. i find crochet easier since it´s what i´ve known for years now but i never tried doing an actual thing i could wear. thank you!
I now see where I went wrong making my first leave today I didn’t do a second slip stitch when attaching the cuff, it still looks good and functions, but I know what not to do next time so thank you!!!!
I’m so glad I have found this pattern. You approach and directions are so easy. I do have a question though. How can I use this pattern to add buttons?
Thank you so much! To add buttons on a cardigan for example, you’ll need to create button holes on one side. So mid-row, instead of doing a sc, you do a ch1, and the next row, make a sc into the ch1. If you need a bigger button hole, do ch2 then the next row, 2scs. So on and so forth. I hope this answers your question.
This is such a great tutorial! I used it for the sleeves on my cardigan and now I’m using it for the full trim, but I’m hung up on how to make a corner with it. Can you recommend a technique?
I'd just work on one edge first, then move on to the other if that makes sense. It's possible to make a corner with a nice-looking slanted seam but I think it's way harder compared to knitting.
@@CherilynQ I’m a beginner and I’m trying very hard but please can you explain what you mean by doing it 3 or 4 times for a chunky look? I’ve watched this video 4 times and I understand how to do the ribbing it’s just the attaching it 3/4 times im confused about
I’d love a tutorial about what you mean about the slip stitch because I just don’t understand and I do want my sleeve to look like the one you didn’t do
Im not the creator but since you didn't receive any help i hope this clears things up a bit: So when she did it her way she endet her row (when she was down by the sleeve) with one slip stitch, and then startet her new row upwards with another slipstitch in the "yellow" stitch next to the end-row-slip-stitch. Right? So when you want to go smaller together, you do a third slip stitch, so one slip stitch between, where no row ends nor starts. It should then look like this: end row slip stitch (1st), slip stitch in stitch next to it (2nd), slip stitch in stitch next to your 2nd (3rd) - > this 3rd slip stitch is your start of the new row
I really appreciate the tutorial and I really needed it, but I don’t quite understand what to do after I sew it. Like what should I do so it doesn’t ruin in time?? How do I secure it??
Will this work for shell stitches as well? I want the second type of cuff, the one that becomes narrower, and after a few tries I think it isn't going to cut it for shell stitched sleeve. Will I have to increase the number of slip knots in bw?
This is a great video. I am planning to use this to add bottom ribbing to a sweater, but I was wondering if this method causes a decrease effect, or if it stays the the same size as the sleeve/edge
Thanks! It does have a little bit decrease effect because the "BLO" makes the rows pull towards each other. If you want it to maintain the same size, the only way, as far as I know, is to make the ribbing separately, get it to the same length and then join it to the sleeve edge.
When you do this, do you turn your garment inside out or keep it the right way? I’ve started the cuff both ways and can’t figure out which is the right way
Heyy I was hear after I was working with the help of your other video on making fingerless gloves! I was trying and um for some reason my rows kept getting smaller. Is this normal cuz i dont see the same happening to yours and im kinda worried if i should continue cuz im afraid that it'll keep getting smaller 🥺😓😥😢

I am Japanese and you were very helpful in explaining it to me in detail with subtitles. Thank you very much. However, my comprehension was not good enough to understand how to open the small cuffs you explained at the end. If you don't mind, may I ask you to explain it again? I am using a translator. I apologize for any incorrect wording.
Hi! I'm sorry. The translation can be confusing sometimes. So for the brown cuff, each time you get back to the edge of the sleeve, work a slip stitch in each of the next 2 stitches. For the purple cuff, you would work a slip stitch in each of the next 3 stitches. A silly question, would it be possible to make a whole sleeve like this, in terms of making it ribbed?
No it’s not silly at all. And yes, you can make a whole sleeve with just back loop single crochet.
Hi ! Tk for your work. Could you put me the vidéo to make this with smaller exemple please. Yo make thé smaller wrist with decreases ? Thank you. Sorry for m'y english
Hello! The instruction to make the cuffs smaller is near the end of the video.
THANKS SO FREAKING MUCH🩷
Hi, if im doing a double crochet ribbing and i want the cuff to be smaller, how many slip stitches do i have to do?
You should probably do 3 slip stitches
To attach the cuff would be okay if i used 4 slip stitches instead of 3 to make my cuff tighter?
It’d be really really tight and there’d be a hole at every 2nd and 3rd slip stitches. I don’t recommend it but you can definitely experiment with it.
@CherilynQ ohhhh ok. Thank youuuuu 😁 I think I'll just stick with your way. I appreciate your fast response 😁
No worries ☺️
Can I use this for jacket ribbing or is it just for sleeves?
You can use it for any ribbing.
how do you keep track?? i always add one or miss one and it turns out uneven, or worse it starts rolling up
@@nataliesanchez3281 It happens to me too. Working under bright light helps me see the stitches better, so I hardly miss. Hope this helps.
Do you have a tutorial for the cuff where you do three slip stitches? I am a visual learner, and am a bit confused haha! Great video!
I figured it out! My cuff is EXTRA wide, so to make a more narrow cuff, should I add more slip stitches when working on the sleeve side?
3 slip stitches makes a pretty big difference already. I don't recommend going more 3, otherwise your cuff could be too small.
I'm making half double crochet ribbing, it's still quite big after skipping 4 stitches and when I'm skipping 5 there is gap between ribbing and base slip stitches😢
