  • Recognition Day is a milestone in each freshman cadet's leadership development at the Military College of South Carolina. Recognition Day also is the first step in their journey of learning to be leaders. The strict regimented lifestyle -- short haircuts and walking fast paced in single file -- end. Ahead is the Ahead is the expectation that members of freshman class will adhere to the values of integrity, respect, duty, and accountability as they become upper class members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets.

    I graduated from Airborne School in summer 1973 with a Citadel cadet, and he was a terrific guy. I wish the Fightin' Texas Aggies and the Citadel Corps folks could get together more........ great schools, great programs.
    That first year, tough as it is, is WORTH IT.

    My son grauated the Citadel in 2008. He is now a major. IF they can make it through, the Citadel is worth the pain and the money. Great school. And, if you have problems, the school will work with you.

      @@icatchsmallfish2150 Well, because of COVID, we didn’t get to experience all of it. We had it earlier in the morning and there weren’t any spectators. We also didn’t have any of the parades or anything. Just the workout. Really sucked but it is what it is.

      @@3RAG0NSNIWAK For someone who’s wanting to have a military experience, become disciplined and potentially become a United States Marine Corps officer would you recommend this school to someone like myself?

    • @3RAG0NSNIWAK
      @3RAG0NSNIWAK 2 года назад

      @@claynog101 Absolutely. As a junior now, I can tell you that it is definitely worth the experience. It’ll suck at time, especially your knob year, but it’s just what you need to get your life straight and get the connections and abilities to proceed with your future goals. As for becoming a Marine officer, the college has one of the top Marine programs in the country, and I can speak from personal experience that it is exceptional as I was in the unit for a time (had to drop due to medical reasons).

      Hey, if you're out of state it will be more expensive, but there are many ways. If you're planning on doing ROTC they do scholarships for that, you can also apply for other regular scholarships (I'm sure you've started.) You'll have to look on their website to find out what other types of scholarships they have (they have a couple, I know.) If nothing else you can do loans and the FAFSA and ROTC for the scholarship but you'll have to serve, not a bad idea if you ask me. Hope everything works out!

    • @thecastorbean
      @thecastorbean 5 лет назад

      Google The Citadel Military Academy Admissions. First link should give you info. You can go down to Charleston and request a tour in Admissions (scheduled or walk-in, doesn’t matter. But its better to call ahead and schedule it). Cadets give the tours and they’ll answer as many questions as they can. They are honest too. If you’re a junior you have plenty of time to figure the details out.

      Those tears are not produced because of this smoke sesh, they have nothing to do with the PT that just occurred. They, however, have everything to do with the hell that these young men and women endured for an entire 9 months. You obviously have no understanding of what these knobs just accomplished in this video-a current knob

      +MakeitDont08 This is probably the dumbest comment I've ever read. It wasn't a "slight" smoke session. It was three times longer than Army Basic Training. And they aren't crying because they got smoked, they're crying because they never have to get smoked again.

    This is vanity, putting a body through such crap to prove.......what? In the end, the body breaks down and you have to use ‘depends’ in the end . Know how does your brilliant military training work when you’re soiling your bed sheets because you were loyal to the Cause. What crap!
