The father does an excellent job showing he means business and doing whatever it takes to protect his family. Mary simply has a bad attitude and shouldn't be hanging out with losers who smoke pot and have no values or class. I really hate how the producers treated Mary after season 4 simply because they were mad at the actress, Jessica Biel, for that stupid photo-shoot thing that she got tricked into as a teenager. The way the writers derailed Mary’s character and ruined her life simply because they were mad at Jessica feels so wrong on so many levels especially since 7th Heaven was supposed to be a show that preaches grace and forgiveness. No wonder Jessica didn’t want to do the show anymore.

What did you expect? A loving father HAS to show tough love to his son/daughter to show that he cares for the safety and well-being of his children. Parenting is a major responsibility and it is the job of a mother and father to teach their kids good morals, values, manners and life lessons. It is VERY important for kids to face consequences when the kids break the rules or disobey their parents. Need I say more?
