    Breaks my heart to see it now, so glad to have lived there when I did don't think I'd like it now. Reminds me of the song tourist tourist tourist Island

      It can be real disheartening sometimes , I agree. When did you live there? I'm glad you got to enjoy it in the golden years. 🌺

    I live on Maui. Paia is almost always congested. The traffic you see in the background only occurs early early in the morning. Paia is also loaded with transients from the mainland who have money that allows them to live "hippy" style. Paia has a SERIOUS meth issue and it is best to stay FAR AWAY from Baldwin. The stores are worth a gander, that is all. It used to be a quaint little town, no more. Most on Maui avoid it like the plague.

      I'm so sorry you feel that way about Paia. I personally love Paia and spend loads of time there with friends and family. We walk Baldwin Beach every Sunday and love our time spent there. You're right it can be congested as there is just a two-way street leaving in each direction. Just like any place, it has its pros and cons and I'm sorry the pros for you don't outweigh the cons for Paia. I appreciate you taking the time to write out your input. 💙

      @@IndieBrassingram I don't "feel" that way it is that way. Good luck on Maui, maybe venture out and meet the actual Hawaiian locals who only go that way to surf or go to Hana. It is easy to see you are new to Maui. Been living here for over 15 years it is the locals that make the islands great not the transplants. I do hope people listen as you have to see the methed out hippies there, there are tons! But hey, hope your eyes open soon. Good luck.

      @lajuanaraye * I couldn't agree with you more. Paia changed immensely in the 60's & 70's.

      You are incorrect.
      She was born in Haiku, not a transplant.

      I know I was so bummed out when I realized this. The wind and my basic microphone made for a bad combo. Apologies for that.

    Paia is a cute town that should mostly be avoided. Always super congested and always aggressive meth heads wandering about.
