      Cheers bud 😊 shes a beaut alright, the real wood bed gets me everytime 😂 I seen these for as low as £65 on BG today 😲 I dont know how they can sell them so cheap. Some people are paying more for 1/12th diecast models.
      I love this location the trials are carved out by sheep and have a real scale look ❤

    Nice leisurely little trail. (They call this a 1/16th scale,but it's actually a mix of 1/12th and 1/10th in it's dimensions).

    • @THYC
      @THYC  4 года назад +1

      Yes is a perfect chill trail ❤ and I dont know why they are still labelled as 1/16th myself😂 mn actually label theirs at 1/12th.

      yup, I'd guessed its really more a 1/12. most of the manufacturers ARE kinda bizarre about scale.

      Cheered bud, I might take my mn99 up there soon for some static footage as opposed to driving at filming at the same time.

    The weather we are having at the moment in this country is just suberb. Very picturesque little run. 👍

      Yes its smashing weather, another nice one today 😊 its easily my favourite trail, being carved out by sheep makes the trail seem more scale.

      We don't have sheep here...just loads of cattle and if I tried to crawl those paths the Truck and I would both be covered in cow pie 😝

    • @THYC
      @THYC  4 года назад +1

      @@JDLightnin 😂 cow and horses fields are no good they trample the ground and leave massive divits behind, not ideal for trailing 😂 there was plenty of sheep shyt on the trail I can tell you that 😂

    nice video of the c44km. contemplating on getting this rig (as my 2nd car) in the future. i am new to the rc world and i got myself a mn99s (still awaiting for it to arrive). don't want to break the bank (yet), while i explore this new hobby and find out if it suits me or not.
    learned a lot of things from your videos (and also from the comments)
    thank you 😁

      Thanks for the awesome feedback 😊
      This is a great platform to explore the hobby without breaking the bank, they are so fun for such a low cost! MN99s I'd say is one of the best rtr you can currently get so you've done well there and should have a really good experience with it. The C44km by WPL is in another league. Side by side the 44 makes the 99 looks like a toy, and the 99 is actually really nicely moulded. I highly recommend building a WPL km kit and adding your own electronics for a hobbygrade experience.

    Any way you can provide links for a battery / ESC / Receiver and Transmitter that will work with this model?

  • @modelnutty6503
    @modelnutty6503 4 года назад +1

    nit pick time! (not you who didn't create the model!)
    love the body, but to be accurate, it really should be a front motor+gearbox, into a 2 gear central transfer case, and riding on shackled leaf springs, would be SO very cool!
    motor and battery weight up front would make it climb pretty awesomely too.
    WPL is a little funny about calling any/everything "1/16" but they sure aren't. first C-24 broke out the tape measure, hood is 4-1/4" wide... to be 1/12 scale it'd be 4-1/2" meaning actual size width 54" (pretty sure the real Toyota was 56" wide), so the C-14/24 are about a 1/13 scale... where MN D-90 really is about a 1/12 scale and kinda dwarfs the C-14/24. the B-1 (aka B14) is more a 1/18 scale, a 1/20 figure next to or in it is just a little too small. its not just WPL, the NewBright Jeep body I used says 1/14 scale, but looks correct sitting next to MN-D90. OK, enough rant about what's scale...
    next... pop open a JJRC axle the plastic bevel gears are FAT, not likely to fail at all.
    different story about the tiny planetary gears inside the casing. just saying maybe WPL could go big fat plastic bevel gears like that and straight live axle no diff for future lower priced models, and do away with the old style too small plastic bevel gears. it might be possible to offset the input for larger diameter larger tooth bevel pinion, and same size ring gear but larger teeth... would be a higher axle gear ratio but that's kinda taken care of with the B-36 lower ratio tan gearbox anyway, so the rest of the molds wouldn't have to be changed any (upper+lower axle casings and pumpkin cover), it'd just be the two gears and the new offset input to accommodate them.
    and now back to "scale" (hehe), I have a suspicion the C44 doesn't look dwarfed sitting next to an MN-D90.. but I don't own a C44 to put them side by side to make that call.
    my little thoughts for the day... whoops!

    • @THYC
      @THYC  4 года назад +2

      Thanks for the info, I knew they wernt 1/16th. The c34 and 44 look perfect next to a d90 so I'd say they are 1/12th. The drift release is a accidental 1/10th 😂
      I've had no experience with a jjrc rig yet so I cant relate to that part sorry 😂 I have seen metal jjrc style diffs for sale, very pricey though.

    • @modelnutty6503
      @modelnutty6503 4 года назад +1

      the JJRC axle casings are built heavier, the pumpkin is centered, and they're about 7 mm wider with same spacing for WPL suspension+shock bridges. before metal gears were available cheap, you could lock the JJRC diffs and put the axles into a WPL for about 11 bucks, is what's in my "budget beast" C-14. appearance wise its like comparing a mini truck axle to one from a full size Chevy, everything is a bit bigger. if you do pick up a pair and intend to lock up the diffs, open them up and de-grease well, then fill them with 5 minute epoxy and put them into the axle casing halves to rotate them, ensuring that they'll be straight when they become solid.... doing it with CA is pretty hectic! (but managed it fine doing 2 sets of those axles).
      those are some of the"tricks" of the budget beast, the extra beefy slightly wider axles, plus the extra width of the Fayee rims and their soft tires made the C-14 a full 3/4" wider than stock, its definitely harder to side tip it.

    • @THYC
      @THYC  4 года назад +1

      @@modelnutty6503 good to know there's extra width from a jjrc axle using the same truss dimensions as wpl, I might get a q65 to upgrade one day. The diff being centred could help my spares drift build out, be of centre isnt helping the driveshaft.
      Did you raise your c14 to cater for the larger fayee wheels?

    • @modelnutty6503
      @modelnutty6503 4 года назад +1

      yup, the longer shock rods lift it about 3 mm is what my buddy's copy got, mine now riding on A285004 oil filled shocks, lower eyelets shortened 3 mm and much lighter springs from the local hardware store. the JJRC diff inner casing stuffed with thick grease does make a pretty fair limited slip action for drifting.
      for even tighter limited slip maybe try packing the casing with ChapStick would be a good option... heat it up some then pack it full+tight. one of my random thoughts from over a month ago, because ChapStick is so easily available anywhere and inexpensive too. hadn't tried it here yet, but the texture+consistency of the stuff should be about ideal considering the leverage ratio between wheel diameter and diameter of the diff's ring gears that the planetary's are riding against.... it'd be like trying to swim in Jello, lots of internal rotational resistance!

      @THYC  4 года назад +1

      @@modelnutty6503 I'm still waiting for wpl oil shocks......😂
      My thoughts on chapstick is it melts at a low ish temperature, and would just leak out when it get to hot 😂 I think Overland_RC used vaseline in his gearbox once upon a time and it just leaked out everywhere.
