- Cirstyn on the Rizom-Lab team walks you through a new script which auto-unwraps based on one set of edge cuts, speeding up your workflow even more!
Grab the script here! rizom-lab.com/freestuff/script...
Feel free to come and ask questions in our Discord! / discord
PLEASE NOTE: In order to avoid virus trigger warnings, we left off the .lua extension - so after downloading the script, please rename it Cut_and_unwrap_script.LUA - thank you Наука
You guys are amazing! Thank you for sharing this with us.
Excellent presentation, and I particularly liked your comments re: the UV map in use e.g. in Substance Painter. Some tutorials never go farther than click this, click that. Hope you will do more practical usage-driven tutorials.
I appreciate your informing us about the substance...caveat. I think that boosts the value of this video for those of us that are just getting into this.
Cirstyn is an extensive Substance user herself and sometimes it's just easier to have a nice canvas - and we're glad you appreciate the Substance caveat yourself!
That was very helpful. Such a good tutorial. Thank you.
Wonderful! Just checked, at the time of writing this, the tutorial for making custom UV grids isn't loading - it's saying the page doesn't exist. Really enjoy working with RizomUV! Thanks for all of your hard work!
Thank you for your kind words - and i am so sorry to hear the page is not loading. I checked and it loads for me. Incidentally, there is a video for that as well, it just needs a voiceover. There is a lot of traffic on the site right now - www.rizom-lab.com/news/creating-a-uv-grid-2/ also loads slow for me, and it loaded fine yesterday. Retry in a bit, maybe?
Thank you for that! It will be very usefull :3
Thanks for sharing, good tools!
Excellent!
That's really amazing
THANK YOU YOU ARE AN ANGEL!
Thanks for sharing. A tutorial for Lua could be helpful. For example just how to import from a path as a first example.
Awesome! Thank you for this video. You were saying something about Auto seams, where can I find more info? I just watched all kinds of tutorials, and probably missed it.
If you hit F2, you will enter Edge mode. When in Edge select mode, you can look to the right - if you have a default setup, and there will be a menu called Auto Seams - explore it, it's easy and fun to use :) !
Hello, any idea of why this plugin doesn't work in the new versions of RizomUV?
Nice! but how do you install or use scripts in RizomUV? I'm kind of new to the program.
This script doesn't seem to run in 2022? Says error in line 58
ERROR: Error: The variable is not found: 'Prefs.Similar.Mode'
ERROR: Please check script line number 58
Same, Can't get it to work :(
Thank you
how do i install the script? i click the link but is just all word came out and not a download link
i wonder how to get a custom UI size like you !
Hi guys. I hope you reply. I've copied the script from the website but when I run it in Rizom I get this warning: Error: The parameter 'WorkingSet' is not recognized.
-- Lua message for line number 58: Error: The parameter 'WorkingSet' is not recognized. Why is this happening I don't understand. Thanks in advance
@4:04 how did you select all the similar parts at once to unwrap them at the same time?
CTRL + M :-)
I downloaded the script file in the link you provided, but it wasn’t a .lua file, it just ended in script. How do I load the in the software?
As shown in the video, you load the script file by pressing ... in the Script Panel - the lower part of i.e S0
Then you press i.e S0 in the script panel to use it
@@RizomUV Thank you for the response. I figured it out. There was no file extension at the end of the script, so I just added a .lua at the end and Rizom found it.
@@dannyortega1527 Great! Glad you figured it out :-)
Hi, needs RizomUV Real Space tutorials for more accuracy please
Is there any reference for scripting on RizomUV? I mean a sort of book or material?
Currently no - we have a channel for scripting in our discord, but the current learning materials are mostly the scripts themselves - we hope to change that post-summer vacation
the script is not a .lua format , had to open the script and save it as a.lua one... and viola lol..
The video shows how to load the script. The Rizom scripter is Lua based, and was tested before release. The testers had no need to resave the script as a Lua script. But glad it worked for you if you had an issue :)
@@cirstyn its WORKING great.
Thank you very much..
Cheers!!
awesome cool
?
Not working in 2019.1.14 only unwraps the island with cuts and actually adds cuts in strange places. I can see why you rewrote and renamed for the watch tutorial.
Actually, that had ZERO to do with the scipt, and everything to do with the fact Cirstyn felt she could do better by adding the autoseams part.
The script has also worked since it was published on all versions - you may want to visit our Discord to see if we cant help you solve your issue.
Also to be clear - the script renames in the watch video have to do with the fact Cirstn wanted to edit in a lightmapping section in them - again - nothing to do with the scripts not working. So come on over, let us help you get this solved :)
@@RizomUV I didn't mean to upset anyone. ALT C, C, F4, U, ALT G works just fine for me I just noticed she was using a different build and wondered if that is why she rewrote script, my build had issues and all the comments here are from months ago.
@@godzoookie No offence was taken :) However, you phrased yourself in such a manner that we deemed the clarification was necessary. And seriously, if you have issues, come talk to us, if something is misbehaving, we want to know about it, specially if something works for others, cause then it's either bug or technique and we're happy to help with both- Even made a Discord link just for you :)
