A group is a container for islands that can be packed, a trim cannot be packed. A trim is a destination for islands that get hotspotted, a group is not.

@@RizomUV I have a couple of software suggestions: 1. Ability to save group settings in a separate file, similar to how you save the palette for trim sheets. If I find an error in the mesh and fix it in blender, I lose all my group settings because the fbx is overwritten. 2. Add the ability for the initial scale factor of the island to ignore the group. I want to have a separate enlarged island, but I want it to be packed with other smaller ones. 3. Hide locked islands from view even from unhide function.
Well, we update every year or two, so that's why it happened. In regards to what got updated, it's a product of requests being made from our community. With the exception of the UI, I've been whining about that for a year or two, then input from our beta team pushed it over the edge, into the realm of something that needed to happen. So in short, no, it was inspired by our users. Having said that ZenUV is great.
It never left, it was just presented as a range. But in answer to your question, yes. We now have a dropdown that allows you to just have the simple "Autofit" on or off, or if you wish, a scaling range.
This video just gave me a headache with all the zooming in, zooming out, and panning all around. Someone over at Rizom needs to learn some presentation skills.
@@RizomUV i mean in most cases while unwrap complicated meshes with many elements it is easy to pack them as non unwraped elements in 2d view ... then operate that elements in 2d view ...as they arranged there separatelly it is easy to select cut etc edges or faces orbiting elements in 2d view while in 3d view these parts may overlap another and so its difficult to acsess them through faces
@@RizomUV another brilliant idea was to make rollout`s titlebar the same color as its body...genius, now I can strain my eyes even stronger so they pop out of their sockets....have you heard of "color coding"? ring any bell? no lets just paint everything in dark grey, let the user suffer
Why hide buttons that are constantly used? I don't want to search for the menu I need every time. It's easier to have all the buttons in a visible place. Also, the ability to rotate in the right window was removed.

Are you talking about moving all islands in a stack (except one) outside the UV space for the purpose of baking?
@@RizomUV Yes exactly ! I've tried many things but have never found what I'm looking for.
@@romain_rbs - If you look under the attributes for "Similar", you'll find a button called Stack offset. That's what you want.

Check the last build you can now customize which tools you want to be on the top tool bar. Also I'm curious you did use to rotate the UV view ?
