    Polvoron has become a favorite gift or pasalubong to give to friends, family and even to friends overseas. It's easy to make and only need a few ingredients. You can also make it into a business.
    Polvoron is a popular delicacies here in the philippines. It's like a crumbly cookie made of toasted flour, sugar, powdered milk and butter or margarine.
    Aside from the traditional polvoron recipe other variants from the basic polvoron recipe adds pinipig (pounded and toasted young green rice) and nuts. There are also several recipes made from this well loved filipino treat. There are cookies and cream, chocolate coated polvoron, ube (purple yum) and many others.
    But my polvoron recipe that i'll be sharing includes crushed graham. And i add some sprinkles, rice krispies and nips to make it more colorful and to add some twist.
    I'll never get tired of this sweet treat. Hope you like it!
    Polvoron Graham
    Ingredients
    1 cup all purpose flour
    1/2 cup powdered milk
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 cup melted butter
    1/2 cup crushed graham
    Rice krispies
    Nips
    Sprinkles
    Material: Polvoron Mould
    Procedure
    1. Sift flour. Toast flour in a pan in moderate heat for about 15 minutes or until light brown. Stir constantly to avoid burning.
    2. Transfer the toasted flour into a bowl and let it cool.
    3. Then add powdered milk and toss for a couple of minute.
    4. Add sugar and melted butter. Mix well.
    5. And lastly , add crushed graham. Mix throughly until well combined.
    6. Divide mixture into three equal portion. Add rice krispies, sprinkles and nips or any colorful candies of your choice to give your polvoron a modern twist.
    7. Fill the polvoron mold with the mixture, press it hard by using spoon, then release it.
    8. Place polvoron in an airtight container then chill in the fridge until firm. And its ready to be wrap in japanese paper or colorful cellophane.
    Keep the polvoron refrigerated until you want to eat them.
    55-60 servings

    what a great idea ... 💓💓💓 definitely will try this out but here in US I don't know where to get the polvoron mold so I might use a silicone mold instead.

      kaya lang kung condensed milk pa ang iaadd mo mas tatamis yung polvoron, magbawas ka siguro ng sugar kung gagamit k ng condensed milk.

      Yun kasi yung alam kong ginagamit sa paggawa ng polvoron. Instead melted butter you can also use margarine.

      okay lang po skim milk ang gamitin nyo at tsaka hindi na siya niluluto yung arina lang po yung niluluto.

      hindi ko na po matandaan kung magkano ang gastos at kung ilan ang nagawa depende na lang po sa nagastos nyo po.

      Suggested price:
      (Total Cost of Ingredients x 3) / Number of polvorons made = Price per piece.
      You may sell it retail (per piece) or wholesale (packs of 10s, 20s,...)
      ========================
      Multiplying by 3 covers the costs of:
      a) Total Cost of Ingredients;
      We need to recover the cost you have invested in making this product
      b) Labor Cost (Worker's salary);
      When someone works, someone needs to get paid; If SELF-EMPLOYED (BOSS is also the WORKER), the Boss can use the Labor cost to add it to the capital (or investment) to purchase more ingredients.
      c) Profit.
      Of course, business needs profit to survive and thrive
      ========================
      You may then adjust (add / subtract) the retail or wholesale price depending on the quality of the finished products.
      Also, survey the competitors' market price to give you idea of how much should your product be.
      Aside from the competitors' price, you may buy some of theirs to give you ideas of texture, taste, size, packaging, target market, etc. KNOW YOUR COMPETITORS TO KNOW YOUR OWN BUSINESS, AND MIGHT AS WELL IMPROVE YOUR PRODUCTS

      My suggestion of Multiplying it by 3 is just a formula I have in my chocolate hobby from time to time that I make them... And using that formula to be used in polvoron is only a suggestion, a guideline that you may adjust... not a rule, not a law.

      I-base mo na lang sa nagastos mo at saka kung ilan yung nagawa mo kasi ginawa ko lang ito para pang-dessert namin sa bahay.

      yung grahan crushed 30 pesos po yata
      yung all porpouse flour 18 pesos samin un eh
      yung powdered milk 12 pesos po sguro bearbrand po ginamit ko eh

      Pag gumawa ka na lang i-base mo dun sa nagastos mo sa paggawa ng polvoron at kung ilan ang nagawa mo. Depende kasi sa dami, yung ginawa ko kasi dito pang-dessert lang sa bahay not for selling.

      We only cook the FLOUR.
      Without cooking, we can readily consume all the other items in their present state... except for the flour which is the ONLY UNCOOKED ITEM within the list of ingredients.
      We toast the flour over low heat, constantly mixing so as not to burn the flour. The flour is ready when it is light brown in color. Turn off the heat.
      Then mix in everything when the flour is still WARM.
      Mix in dry ingredients.... then the wet ingredient.
      Let it cool, then mold it.
      putting it in the refrigerator (NOT THE FREEZER) helps to stabilize the shape
      The butter within the polvoron hardens the polvoron's shape because of the cold environment. (its like putting a little water in the sand to make sandcastles tall and hold its shape)
