This song never stops to amaze me. Incredredible story telling wrapped in a song. The crime, prison, the Court, the sentence, the regret, the anger, defiance and finally resigning to his inevitable fate. A beautifull piece of art indeed!
Their manager did not want them to record this. He said it wouldn't be a hit. They did it anyway and it's the most popular and well known song of theirs. It's just genius. Freddie Mercury's baby for sure. He was incredible.
The aesthetics of those years were incredible, compared to these times it is so superior, musically great obviously, everything about these guys was incredible.
This is an iconic song by an iconic band. Here on RUclips alone, this song has over 1.6 Billion views. I love it and have for about 50 years. I never get tired of it. Thank you for your reaction to one of my favorite songs from my favorite band.
Radio stations wanted them to cut it down to 3 minutes and they refused, so it became popular off the grid, so the radio stations played the full version. It is truly unique as are your responses to it, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
See? Us "Old Folks" knew how to rock! No one is making music like this anymore. I don't honestly know what's better in this song....the vocals or that insane guitar. Watch the movie about this group. Freddie Mercury was an enormous talent.
I absolutely ❤ listening to Bohemian Rhapsody, each and everytime is a musical pleasure that can’t be possibly described in words, it’s that amazing. Freddie’s writing and vocals are just incredible.
This song describes how people facing death, natural or by execution, experience all the stages of personal grief. It perfectly shows the emotions felt from denial, to anger, bargaining, depression, and then acceptance. Superb writing.
@@LeChaunce Especially talking about how his mama just killed a man (meaning his mother did not agree with his bisexuality), the 'pulled my trigger', etc...
Queen, Supertramp, ELO, Moody blues, King crimson, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, YES, Genesis, Emerson Lake & Palmer all do similar complex music tracks from the 70's it's called Progressive rock or Progressive pop commonly called prog.
👏A timeless masterpiece! The talent and skill level of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon was astounding and they always gave 1,000% on stage with no Auto Tune or Pitch Correction. They had so many mega hit songs over the years. Many such as "We Are The Champions" and "We Will Rock You" are still sung today by huge crowds at sports events around the world! Rock🤘😎
Freddie has always & will always be the best ever to me. The thing is, most people who have listened to him... and all of Queen truthfully... agree he's one of the best. If not THE best. Even other singers! Garth Brooks, a Country music legend, saw Queen and Freddie when they toured in the early 80s in the USA. Brooks said Freddie was so charismatic. Garth also runs all over the stage, wants people to sing along, wants people to interact. He said witnessing Freddie Mercury performing like he did, he was going to do exactly what Freddie did. And he has. Garth is a country music legend because Freddie Mercury inspired him to be legendary!
I'm 33. My dad played queen alot and other 80s music. I always loved bohemian rhapsody. I'm happy to see u enjoyed what music I did as a kid who was raised by 70s/80s kids/parents. The most incredible part is they made that song without a ton of the equipment voice stuff today. They recorded over n over again their own music to get the musical affects. They were ahead of their time in music. ❤
Rock /Opera a story like Opera with Genre music changes going through the emotions of the story. I livd you reaction and bedt of all you get 8t ! Ty and please continue with Queen you can't go wrong ! Only 1 Queen and only 1 Freddy RIP you are missed. .
If you want to see how much this song was loved, google the green day gig when the crowd sang this song in unison. The crew were playing it while setting up. It was amazing
Actually not - the stage was empty - and there were loudspeakers in the middle of the audience - but not loud - - the crowd sang it all - - and does in several occasions still. It is called the second National Anthem ❤❤.
Great reaction. This group rocked for 20 years only stopping at Freddie's death from Aids in 91. They are touring again today with a guest singer. I suggest Liar from the rainbow London 74. Its from their first album and each member has a solo do you can see the talent. This album made me a fan all those years ago and that hasn't changed. I promise youll enjoy your journey. This is a band you have to watch live. No autotune or tracks playing just raw skill. Have subscribed.
I grew up with QUEEN, and as a Brit, you should be so proud that this Group is still relevant Today, This Song is one of the most well known Songs EVER, I saw them Live in Canada, in 1980 and have all their Albums. Greatest Concert I went to. You should watch them from LIVE AID
Don't know if you'll see this Queen request since I'm a little late to the party; but: White Queen - Live at Hammersmith Odeon, 1975, and You Take My Breath Away - Live at Hyde Park, 1976 are both spectacular performances - the first featuring an incredible guitar/ piano duet section, the second just Freddie alone at the piano, shushing a rowdy crowd with his confession of obsessive love... Both are absolutely magical in their own way, and having watched a few of your reactions now, I think you'd love them.
First time on your channel, and I genuinely enjoyed your reaction, so thank you! Other songs by Queen? Start on their first album, Queen I and listen to each track in order. Then on to Queen II and repeat. Then Sheer Heart Attack, then A Night At The Opera, etc. There are no bad songs by this band and thriller range is so far reaching you will not believe it!! Enjoy the journey!!
When this was released at the tail end of 1975, Freddie's friend DJ Kenney Everett said it was the greatest song ever recorded. He proceeded to play it every other record on his radio show.
The version I read about was that Kenny Everett was specifically forbidden to play the song because of its length, so he played it by putting it on after every other record "by accident" in 15-second bits and apologising profusely for the "mistake" every time -- until he'd played through the whole thing.
It was wonderful to see the constant smile on your face listening to and watching a song of my generation. Keep on exploring the music of the 1960s and 1970s - you will absolutely amazed...
Ahh so you’ve discovered Queen and Freddie Mercury’s masterpiece, his magnum opus! You should also watch Queen’s live performances. They’re even better live! Somebody To Love Montreal 1981 is a good place to start.
Thank you for appreciating one of the greatest rock songs of all time from one of the most amazing bands of all time. I remember seeing this for the first time as a young child in the '70s. At the time, this was the most amazing music video (called ' film clips' back then). There had never been anything like it before. If you like complex, well-written music, that goes in a variety of different directions, played by incredible musicians and with a 'supernatural' vocalist (6' 1" Dutch Valkyrie Goddess - Floor Jansen), try listening to 'Ghost Love Score' from the Finnish symphonic metal band 'Nightwish' (they sing in English). The band is older than you (late '90s), but I think the song was first released in 2004, although I'm sure it existed long before that, so it qualifies as being before you were born. The best version is the live (always) performance from the 2013, Wacken festival in Germany. Make sure you search for 'correct speed'. The original Blu-Ray version of the concert was recorded at a slower speed, so some videos on-line are slow. This is the usual 'gateway-drug' to the Nightwish rabbit-hole. Be prepared. Once you react to a Nightwish song, you will probably be invaded by the the Nightwish army (fans) led by their ever-so-polite and informative 'herald', Gabriel Bardac, with a massive info dump.
Welcome to the Queen rabbit hole. Your channel will grow. Queen’s live performances are almost always better than studio and usually different. They will vary from concert to concert as well. Here are some suggestions. Somebody to Love and Save Me live at Montreal 1981. Also from the same concert Keep Yourself Alive and Dragon Attack. Now I’m Here, Love of My Life and Under Pressure live at Wembley 1986. Who Wants to Live Forever official video. White Queen live at Hammersmith Odeon 1975.
Maybe try out/react to: - March Of The Black Queen (also referred to as the 'older brother' of Bohemian Rhapsody) and - My Fairy King Best versions for both in my opinion are the official lyric videos. For me these two songs have a lot of art and complexity inside... :-)
LOVED your reaction! The LIVE version of this song is STUPENDOUS… (It is minus Freddie Mercury’s five-part a capella harmonies at the beginning, but otherwise I actually PREFER - as with everything - seeing Freddie perform this live because his vocals are even BETTER than in-studio!) To hear it live, you should see it at MONTREAL in 1981 Freddie ‘s songwriting was GENIUS. He also wrote and recorded an album of OPERA with Spanish operatic soprano Montserrat Caballé (her nickname is Montsey); the album and title track are titled Barcelona. (Freddie & Montserrat were actually the FIRST professional musicians from two different music genres, to ever collaborate on a cross-genre album together. Pavarotti initially called their collaboration “The dumbing down of opera”. But then when the album was so well-received… Pavarotti was soon doing his own “Pavarotti and Friends” project!)😉
For your off-line listening pleasure, there’s a great vid of this song floating around the InterWebs. Bands routinely play songs from other bands before their concerts begin. Sometimes it’s to get the crowd pumped up, other times it’s just to kill the time before their show begins. Either way, there were tens of thousands in the crowd at a Green Day concert when this song started playing. INSTANTLY, the entire crowd started singing along, and gave a TRIUMPHANT performance of this song. You know you’ve made it, when the entire crowd at another band’s show starts singing your song, because EVERYBODY knows the lyrics, and it’s a Great Song!
You should the Live Aid gig. Personal fav is "Love of my Life" - Wembley 86 for how he interacts with the crowd. Freddie died in 1991 - but watch the crowd Singing Bohemian Rhapsody in Hyde Park in 2017 - perfectly. RIP Freddie.
Talk about poignant, the line, as a summation to the entry, "some times I wish I'd never been born at all" is a refrain to so many young men, across the world, caught up in violence and a sense of not belonging to their world. So powerful.

Everything about this song was INCREDIBLE! And Freddie Mercury (Farouq Balthazar) was THE Best vocalist of our time. It took me a long time to get onboard with Queen - it's kind of embarrassing. Awesome band - probably the best of our time!
back in the 70's when there were no limits to creativity in music
Freddie Mercury. The greatest rock front-man there has ever been.
Often voted The Greatest song of all time,Freddie Mercury's gift to the world.
This song never stops to amaze me. Incredredible story telling wrapped in a song. The crime, prison, the Court, the sentence, the regret, the anger, defiance and finally resigning to his inevitable fate. A beautifull piece of art indeed!
All the moods and transitions are why its a called a rhapsody. An expression of intense feelings in a free -flowing composition.
Correct - Google 'rhapsody' and you'll see this song fits the bill perfectly.
Their manager did not want them to record this. He said it wouldn't be a hit. They did it anyway and it's the most popular and well known song of theirs. It's just genius. Freddie Mercury's baby for sure. He was incredible.

Welcome to the Queendom. The Live Aid Concert is considered the best ever recorded. Queen is 20 minutes and will amaze you.
Yes absolute must see!
Ok nice I’ll check it out
I respectfully disagree. The best concert ever recorded is Stop Making Sense by Talking Heads.
Make sure to pick the video with the 2 constables introducing them. There is a video that cuts off part of the end. Do the 4K version.
@tmcmurdo826 good shout 👍🏴🇬🇧
It's always fun to see someone's first time hearing Bohemian Rhapsody, there's no other song quite like it 👍😁
The song is about live and let live, and accepting who you are, not un-aliving yourself
I love this
Please do Queen "Somebody to love" live Montreal 81.
An absolutely iconic performance! That entire concert, really, but Somebody to Love is just so good.
