  • Recently, the Hoboken NJT station has been experiencing some challenges with tidal flooding. This station is very close to the shoreline, and at high tide, the water sometimes floods the tracks at the end of the station. Fortunately, this condition is being alleviated with capital investments.

    Love the new swimming lanes integrated with the tracks ...

    The track with the newer style bumper must be the track where the imfamous 2016 crash took place.

      @fiercingdragon Год назад +5

      Yeah it is supposedly the same track the crash happened in 2016 indeed. The train during that time didn't slow down

      I'm pretty sure salt water can fck traction motors and the running rail ground of electric trains.

    Well, those wheels are getting a good wash 😄 🌊 This looks like the Sea Level rise they predicted back in the 2000s. I imagined it just like this...

    • @F40PH-2CAT
      @F40PH-2CAT Год назад +7

      No. Sea levels have not risen at the predicted rate. This is tropical weather exacerbated by el nino....natural forces.

      I have seen pictures of Hoboken tide flooded years ago. It was built too low.

    I got off the F train and there was water everywhere
    The station was hooked up to a special water works
    And the cutest things would roam around! They were called Water Foxes! So small but so fluffy

    If the water level went over the tops of the rails, would all services be suspended? I assume that there must have been some speed restrictions in place due to the flooding

    • @MilwaukeeF40C
      @MilwaukeeF40C Год назад +2

      No third rail but you do not want to take risks around any rails with electric trains. The running rails carry the ground path. It is possible for something to create a less resistive path by touching the rails.
