I've done this with Rit dye but differently! I soaked the boots, but I made a really thick cream out of two packets of the dye and painted it onto my uggs. I left them for six hours, every hour I would wet down the dye with a paintbrush. After the hours were up, I whipped the remained of the dye off, wet the boots with the brush, and whipped, six or so times. They were jet black, looked new instead of worn chestnut. It took six days to dry. Then I went insane with a teasing brush on the inside.
This was really pleasant to watch. I enjoyed watching her process and the fact that she was so clear and direct. I cannot stand people who talk incessantly about themselves in videos. Thanks for the tips ❤️❤️❤️
Very interesting. I think the technique was great maybe just a bit more dye and longer soaking. To all the peeps feeling bad for the boots, the labels and the fur, they were THRIFT STORE BOOTS! If it weren't for ppl like her showing us , and experimenting, we'd have to try it ourselves! Kuddos to her! Getting uggs wet doesn't ruin them although I try not to. I've actually washed a pr of my daughters old one trying to get them back into shape. The dye does fade though which is why I'm here trying to find out how to re color them. Everything else's does fluff back up ...eventually. Thanks!
I don't understand any of the negative comments! You did a really good job on these boots and the whole point of this is just to have fun. The new color is way better than the original and I think they look great! Pretty much look brand new 😊
Wow I am amazed how nice they came out.
I think it would have worked better if you soaked them over night and maybe used a brown shade also you are suppose to rinse in cold water to set the color and if you add a cup of vinegar it helps

@BrandNubia what the fuck, you just answered Gargles hate with more hate....and the funny part is you are making a fool out of yourself because you can't even write properly. BTW you idiots; we are all equal in the eyes of the truth.
P.S you're a hypocrite when you say "all love and no hate" nice try, & the mountains are part of this planet dumb shit.
Hey Grargle, go grargle some whispy balls--
p.s your ruining being white for everyone....
@Grarglejobber. I thought you was the biggest dirtbag asshole punk for your comments, then this idiot @brandnubia stole your spot. People like y'all ain't shit
@@grarglejobber4263 what does her skin color has to do with her dyeing her boots? This was the worse ignorant comment ever. If you don’t like the video just keep it moving
I'm confused I thought they were supposed to be black.
Candace Gray ...me too ...lol
Throw the whole video clip away
Candace Gray lmao
ahahaha dead
A lot of times you have to repeat the process, it all depends on what color your uggs started at. darker colors dye easier when going black (obviously) tan/beige uggs may need this process up to 5 times over to achieve a solid color. At least she got us started (:
Hi,
After watching your video, I decided to dye my thrifted (and faded) sand UGGs yellow. The color didn't come out quite like I was expecting; it was supposed to be sunflower yellow ,but came out mac and cheese yellow/orange and look pretty cool. :)
I didn't want the label in the back to get dyed over, so I went over it with a white wax candle, which seemed to help as that area absorbed less color than the rest of the boot.
I'm obsessed with dying stuff, white sheets and blouses. I'm doing a pair of Merrells and a purse next. Yours came out nice, wish me luck. I usually leave stuff in bin with a brick over it in yard but can't with suede.
I actually dyed an old, ugly, light blue pair (what was I even thinking) and they came out pretty nice.
I think the suede spray is easier and faster and safer for real suede.
What’s it called the spay
@@amandahidalgo7119 there is a spray brand called Saphir, this is for suede and leather shoes... they have a waterproofing spray that comes in colors
when you use Rit dye you have to use extremely hot water + a cup of vinegar and leave in for a long time. you don't put then in there while their already wet. u do it while its dry. it worked for me. she just did it wrong. and to turn from brown to black you might need more than one bottle. I would suggest you use a color that's similar to the color it is already. I did this to get rid of my water spots.
Dominique Jones I want to change my Chestnut colored boots to black any advice?
Very good, informative video. The RIT web site says that when dyeing 1 pound of dry fabric in dark or bright colors such as Black, Dark Brown, Cocoa Brown, Navy, Purple, Wine, and Dark Green, use double the amount of dye (2 packages of Rit powder or 1 bottle of Rit liquid) in 3 gallons of water, so maybe if you had used two packages of the dye, they would have come out darker and more black?
Did you ever try to dye them again? Also I forgot, the brown stuff in the first water I'm guessing was the original boot dye coming out? Because that's how mine did when I washed them. And they've always faded onto my light colored clothes IF ever they got wet. I wonder if soaking them in salt would help keep them from fading? I used to add salt to the wash on new things that I new were going to run and it helped tremendously. Thanks again!
Omg finally I got an idea to fix my babies it’s there stained badly! Nothing else has looked good but this love it thank you
I really liked your idea but I was wondering: wouldn't the UGG Australia logo on the back cover up with dye too?
+sparkle shine the boot and the tag are different material so they will not dye the same way in any circumstances
Grargle Jobber how you figure she black if you go to her Channel that’s not a black girl commenting you really sound racist by saying that and that goes to show how dumb you are she acted about the material on the logo dyeing too nothing else grow the fuck up!!!
Even if I had a dark basement ain't no way I'm going down there 🤣🤣🤣🤣 thanks for the video
Wow. TERRIBLE. If you still want to try this. Soak boots as she dis the 1st time to remove dirt but let them dry before attempting to dye. Also put a grocery bag in the shoe before you stuff it with newspaper or else it will soak up the die. Then dye use liquid dye instead of powder and pour the dye directly into the trash can. Soak 2 hrs instead of 30 mins and always rinse with COLD water. You shld get way better results
show me ur socks when u take boots out 😂
Yeah that part I’m worried about too, I’ve got 4 to dye
I don't really like them all too much but it is a vast improvement from the hideous beige color they were prior.
Stuffing it with newspaper stretches it out more than you probably want it to though...
still cool showing us how to possibly dye uggs. From what I've seen, I've ruled it out though
Wait so, the pics at the very end... Were those before pictures to compare or are they after pictures? Because if they're afters, they lost a lot of dye...
+Usagi Tsukino After pictures. The end result wasn't very good because she just should've let the dye set it for a day while it dried in and then rinsed it.
Use cut up pool noodle next time instead of the newspaper.
To everyone that said the boots didnt turn out right: @ the beginning of the video it says "how to get the Denim look" the boots were not supposed to stay black...they looked nice
Ikr!
The dye didn't take very well, because you need to add 1 to 2 cups of vinegar with 1 cup of non iodized salt. I like to buy my dyes at Blick Art stores. Kudos for giving it a try...you will do better next time!!!
Exactly what I needed. Thank you so much!
those looked horrible
itsscrilla lmao
I think you did a great job. They look a ton better than before and it worth a shot to save them. I'm definitely trying this.
You need to dye them twice and wash them in the washer in between (use a laundromat) otherwise the dye won't come out inside the boot and will dye your socks and feet. this was a good try tho. you shld try dying them again!!!
>use a laundromat
Of course a black person would think "how can I make this someone else's problem". This is why nobody likes you guys lol
Does the inside still come out fluffy??
Does the dye get all over your jeans when you tuck them in?
Angel, did you have any issues with the dye getting on your skin from the inside when you wear them? I don't wear socks with my Uggs and, I want to dye mine black.
You just wasted 9 minutes and 31 seconds of my time🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
True 💯 lmfao
Exactly!! A whole 9 minutes.
Good video! Never would have known Uggs could be dyed. I have a red suede boot and I think I'll try to dye a stain on the heel.
LiS Wright No trust me don't. If it is real suede water is bad for it and can ruin it.
The end result was very good but she just shouldve let the dye set it for a day while it dried in and then rinsed it. It like tye dye to be hinest but the end result it so cute
What the hell?! I'm totally confused. I thought the boots were supposed to be black?
Rit dye is fabric dye not suede dye but you can buy suede dye online for about $8. It will give you the color you want.
when you soaked them in the water the first time why was the water brown?
+HayHay HanHan because they were fake and it was probably cheap quality due to the fact that they are not authentic uggs. you can see from the sole, uggs dont have that pattern.
HayHay HanHan they were dirty
also wonder how they die at the factory to get the fur fluffy. maybe they blow it dry? Would be interesting to see.
I thought UGGs were leather (suede)? Doesn't seem wise to soak leather like this, does it? Why didn't you use a leather dye?
What about the UGG label?:-( :-/
I can’t believe how warn down the soles are! Someone really loved those boots.
Did you do anything to protect the label , or did the dye just not absorb into it ? xx thanx
Did they change color any?????
Why was the water brown when you put the uggs in the bucket to soak was it from the boots👢
Because uggs r sheep skin that's dyed so the brown due was comming off
they look terrible afterwards to be honest
Why are you talking to yourself -.-
xxMOOxMOOxx I like the idea of your comeback but it doesnt rlly make sense..
Festive Phan Trash I heard her
thanks! how long did they take to get completely dry
The beginning of the video says they’re supposed to be a denim color
was it still soft after or did they become hard?
Defff gon try this at home tomorrow!! Thank u so much xo
ummmm what color were they suppose to be?
Jena' 😂😂
why didn't the boots dry up black what kind of color was that
+Domo Sanford I think it was because she washed all the dye out or that the dye wasn't good quality. A for effort though :D
+Judith Boggie If you don't rinse dyed things until the water is clear, the dye will rub onto your other clothes and anything else it touches. RIT dye is just terrible dye
DulceVlogz Yeah, RIT dye is cheap and accessible but only because it sucks.
+Domo Sanford Looks like a dark brown to me.
You Tube please don’t put this on my algorithm
Great video!thank you so much!
I love your videos, but I have to say I almost think they were better before you dyed them.
Lye" as in the stuff you make soap with? xxx
They weren't even black :/
Wtf?! That was a good a mess... Before AND after!
Jessica B.
Always a troll. U are a sad little man. Is your family aware of how unbalanced you are? I am actually being serious. Get some help, there is a big wonderful world outside of your room and away from the computer. I know it must be hard to be so strange, but some therapy could be of a huge benefit to you
You're not serious with this video? Its totally unsuccessful
Brilliant, thank you!
That was a waste of time
nooo rinse in cold water 😣
Why would you fix old offbrand boots when you could just bye new ones?
Well ain't this a cheeky comment, maybe to save waste, save money, save the planet, not be a wasteful shit person?
Are they black?
Thank you great! Besides not everyone has a basement so could have left that out. But otherwise really informative
lol it bascilly didnt dye anything but the heels
i know
Vanessa Oscar looks good though
I would have used several packets, not presoaked the boot in the water, just put them in the dye cause they would have absorbed more of the dye that way. I also would have left them in the dye for 24 hours.
they're cute!
So it looks like that didn't work so well!!?
where do you buy the dye
Nice job!!
Thanks for the info on dying the boots!
What color was the label? :)
ok also you should use suede dye, not material dye in the pack like you did, if you want to try it again do this www.amazon.com/Angelus-Suede-Dye-Oz-Red/dp/B00FE1KLZO then also read up on how to "restore faded suede ugg boots" you will get results on google. Hope you get better results next time. thanks for sharing.
I like them , yall some hating as people
i don't think ugg boots should be getting that wet.
+Alissa Padi i heard it was bad to get them wet and that the fur gets all weird and the suede gets stains and it gets hard
Not true! I wash mine in the machine and they come out like new!!! (Not often though)
Oh no!!! Poor poor uggs :/
I have bailey bow black uggs and they look nothing like that
you really messed up the boots
Cutco!!!!!! That's the first thing I noticed is the spoon lol good job tho
Know I know what not to do. You should try again and show what to do to be successful. Thanks
Brilliant!!
Poor uggs :( i will never do that to my pair
RIP all your WHITE socks☠️🧦⚰️🤧
what about the label? the fur inside? ohhh my gosh..
Those arnh real uggs
Did she say uh oh?
4:20 "uh oh"
Reading instructions is not as common as one would think....is it?.....
😮
omg your fur!
cool
Those are fake ugg boots
but they were thrifted that's why! :)
not the shade of black I expected...that was a lot of work...
Just buy a new pair those are all worn up
The Uggs are fake because look at the bottom of the shoes they are not suppose to have that design. The reason why the boots lost so much dye when she soaked them is because they are not authentic Uggs.
Danira T uggs changed their bottom in 2009/2010...her bottoms are the older ones.
Mamma mia!! Throw dirty water down the toilet and flush! Not down the sink! I’ve seen this done in England aswell and I find it disgusting!
dude the dye didn't even stick 😂😂
