What you did reflects on our culture, the culture of Sanatana Dharma, what some might call the basic tenet of Hinduism: Do no harm: ahimsa paramo dharmaha. This cobra, too, is entitled to live out its life in accordance with its dharma. Had this wandering cobra entered a car at a house in Texas, California, or Montana, in the USA, the car owner would simply have picked up his shot gun and shot the cobra, and gone to a beer shop to buy a barrel of cold beer, and invited his neighbors for a cobra-barbeque party to celebrate the event. If this wandering cobra had arrived at a garden in China or Thailand, the home owner would have put the bag with the cobra in it in boiling water and then cooked and served it with mint and basil or tomato sauce. I am not making this up; you can see in RUclips videos of chefs cooking a cobra by first putting it in boiling water, bag and all, and then serving it in fancy restaurants for $59.95 a plate. The cobras might just be passing through the house or plantation, sometimes due to disturbance from people or dogs these snakes would take refuge in the car as an emergency.
