How to make Gumpaste / Sugar Shoe Cake Toppers with Template

- Hi and welcome back to my kitchen. I can't quite believe it but this is my 100th video tutorial on this channel!
So for this weeks cake decorating video tutorial I thought I would take inspiration from the first video I ever uploaded which was a mini pair of shoe toppers for cupcakes and create a larger pair of peep toe shoes to go on the top of a cake.
The best thing is I haven't used any moulds. All you need is my free downloadable template. Just print it out and you're ready to go. In the tutorial I show you how to model the heel of the shoe, how to use the template to get the shape of the shoe, how to add the main body of the shoe and also how to finish it with a pretty bow.

Can i use fondant in stead of gumpaste?
Congratulations on your 100 the video. Adorable shoes. Does gum paste come prr- dyed? What is the drying time? Keep on caking.
Hi Lorraine, Thank you so much. For these shoes I actually started with white and coloured the gumpaste myself. I usually find this works better for me as I can get the exact colours I want this way. In terms of drying time these didn't take that long to dry. After about an hour they could hold their shape, but I left them overnight to let them set completely.

Hi Carolina, I am so glad you like them, thank you. I used gumpaste (Squires floral paste) for these shoes, but you could also add tylos to fondant to make them.
