I am making bread at home every weekend. I use bread flour, oat flour, rye flour, whole wheat flour and inclusions of my choice and I naturally ferment it (using sourdough starter). Not only I have lost 18 kilograms in the past 5 months, but digesting the home-made bread is easier and since it takes a lot of time to ferment, taste is incomparable to the store bought versions. I think balance is the key, you can eat amazing bread and still lose weight, if you do it properly.
I absolutely LOVE ezekial bread! I’m not keto anymore but regardless this is the best and highly rated bread on the market. Although expensive it’s completely healthy and delicious 😀
I used Ezekiel for years but it really has no taste. I'm using Bread Alone my boss uses it and got me hooked! It is not low carb but most breads from this company have about 4 ingredients that's it and there is 1 that has about 3
I have no cravings for carbs anymore since ditching them ..if I make a bolognese for kids I just have it with a big bowl of mixed salad. I love it ...cauliflower rice is lovely with a curry...etc
Some people also mention ezekiel bread as well; I've never tried it I have no idea if it's healthy or not. To be honest, if I ever happen to visit the area where my father was born, I'll visit the local bakery that makes bread in the wood oven. I used to have it as a kid when I was on holiday there and when it came out fresh, it was umami.
Yes! Reading the labels on all store-bought bread/wraps is super important. Your recipes look great 💚 I make my own sourdough bread from a starter. I slice, freeze, and then toast it because it is more of a resistant starch. I also do the same with sourdough pizza dough, bake & freeze.
Hey autumn, have you ever tried using cottage cheese in your smoothie recipes? I tried it today and it is my new favourite thing!! It adds a different creaminess than yogurt and is sooo good
Since I am on Keto plus intermittent fasting for quite awhile now, I needed a bread. I test my blood glucose every time I eat something new. I make a fantastic loaf of bread containing Vital Wheat Gluten, Oat Fiber and Lupin Flour. couple eggs, some yeast and butter and seeds. It's fantastic and does not spike my BG. Most or a lot of store bought Keto breads still spike my BG.
I look at minimum fiber / carbohydrate ratio of 1:5 It is possible to find 4 grams of fiber for 22 grams of carbs - close enough. Yes, it is important to watch for seed oils. Aldi also has a cheese wrap.
I’m not quite sure how they can say flourless because from my understanding, they still mill the wheat after sprouting (which forms a flour). Either way, Ezekiel is fine, it’s just not a low carb option. This list is for low carb breads.
I rarely eat bread anymore knowing what it does to my body ... but when I do have a hankering for a BLT I used a my favorite "regular" multigrain toasted. This would be a treat meal . .I have used the egg wraps but sometimes you just want bread LOL!!!
Hi Autumn! Thank you so much for this!!! I miss eating bread, so this was SO helpful and I'm excited to try some of the products and make your bread!! 🥰
I miss bread but I can definitely live without it. I am starting to have some bread as part of a treat meal. It’s the simplest things sometimes that turn out to be a treat. I am so carb sensitive though…Great suggestions 🤓. Thank you Autumn 👍❤️🇨🇦
Haven’t tried this yet, but I have heard of thinly slicing the egg wraps and throwing them in boiling water to heat, and using as a noodle. Thank you for the info! Hope you are feeling well in your pregnancy.
I suddenly am having issues with Glutan 😢 Now making my own bread but no grains! Thanks for sharing. I think that Keto Thin bread may be an option for me ❤
Thoughts on sourdough?? I've successfully lost inches and weight while having 1 slice with avocado, eggs and veggies as one of my meals but would still like to hear your opinion. (I'm also doing 16:8 IF) Thanks!!
I’m interested too! I do know you have to search hard to find sourdough (or make it) as most sourdough in stores just adds the flavor and shortcuts the fermentation process. But I did enjoy making and eating it over the pandemic!!
I like the egg wtaps from TJs but I eat Ezekiel if I want bread. I don't eat bread daily & it's the only one with ingrediebtsI like. Im not going to deprive myself
You do what works best for you! Some people are severely carb sensitive and traditional breads are not an option for them. Having alternatives can make their lives a lot easier :)
Autumn what about the egg white bread that has been all over social media. Some recipes use egg white powder and some actual egg whites but all diy. What do you think about that bread? Thanks
Alot of the egg based ones just taste too eggy and have a spongy texture. Not bad and work but not always what i want to eat. I definitely recommend siete almond flour tortillas, the coconut wraps she recommends and just homemade cauliflower flat bread. I agree ezikeal bread is pretty great too
@@AutumnBates I totally understand that and agree with you. However, I'm not sure about their other products but one of the main reasons I decided to get their almond flour tortillas was because it actually didn't have the casava flour in it to my surprise. It does have tapioca flour and xanthan gum in the ingredients. I'm usually pretty carb sensitive and this didn't affect me surprisingly. I don't eat them all the time but I thought it was a better alternative to most things. I would prefer to make them at home as well though.
While I was doing OMAD I tried one of the commercial paleo "bread" products and it flared my eczema as it had inflammatory oils (sunflower, safflower oils) I decided no bread was better than itching.
Thank you for your review! My husband and were trying different bread substitutes but they a caused gastric distress. Oh, I tried the coconut wraps after watching o e if your videos and I had to laugh, the wrap was like a giant fruit roll-up texture. 😂 it was even sweet tasting even though I read the ingredients carefully.
You might have gotten gastric distress because many of the low carb breads rely on those sketchy ingredients or A LOT of fiber that I mentioned in this video. Try some of these and let me know how it goes!
@@AutumnBateswhat's your opinion on arrowroot flower? It's in the base culture bread. Wondering its nutritional value and whether it's good to have on hand in case I want to make my own bread at home

Depends on the individual. For some people foods that are nightshades or those that contain lectins can be an issue. For many others, there’s no problem at all.
