Nano+ would be impressive if it has a more budget friendly price. But it’s the total opposite. Very pricey! I’d rather have the Mini 2.
And it’s so overrated it’s subpar with claims of this and that
It’s price is no where near what he claims jn the video. In fact it’s so far off it is borderline smear to keep the video up with giant onscreen price of 949

Absolutely worth the price, if camera quality matters most. To me, it does. That's a 0.8 inch sensor on a 249g drone which is unprecedented and a huge improvement over mini. Notice the shadow detail on the tank and the greater dynamic range. Heck both Air 2 and Evo 2 standard are 0.5.
Can you do a low light test with it Ken? No one on RUclips that knows what they're doing has put comparisons up yet (that I can find)
Been a fan of Mini 2’s performance since day 1. You get premium quality for a more friendly price.
If price is all youre worried about i syppose youre on target. If you want a drone with bestbflight times in its class.... Brilliant image quality and non geo fencing option the Nano outshines DJI. You get what you pay for
For some reason I still prefer DJI
You didn't even mention the main reason I will buy the Nano+ and gleefully retire the Mini 2 I already have: geofencing! Where I live I have had several instances in which, after getting LAANC approval, I was unable to get a DJI drone to take off due to firmware or data communication issues with DJI's geofencing. I already replaced my Mavic Air 2 with an Autel Evo 2 Pro, and I'm soooo much happier. Once I can get my hands on the Nano or Nano+ I'll be done with DJI for good.
One super important point is they don’t geofence their drones.
I think geofencing is a good thing, at least as a UK flyer. The Gatwick incident almost got drones banned completely.
@@barnibussnaples6561 that Gatwick thing was such bs, I was reading an update about it the other day, they reckon there might of never been a drone, and it was all blown out of proportion. Drone reputation has never recovered from that incident.

The Nano Plus price is $799, not $949. The $949 price is for the Premium Bundle. Not having DJI geofencing: Priceless.
Coming in under 250g is obviously why the comparisons are always in the "mini" class, but it would be awesome to see a Nano+ comparison to the DJI Air 2 when it comes to functionality vs price. I REALLY wanted to love the Nano, but it's hard to justify dropping a grand on a first gen unit with such a chaotic first month rollout.

Also: your videos are so funny, Ken - I still sometimes go back when I need a laugh to when you crashed the Phantom into that big building, and hit the Home button ON THE WAY DOWN after it crashed...lol

Ken; it's $599 for the Mini 2 and $949 for the Nano+ - both with the fly more combo. Or $449 and $799. Still a significant difference but not as much as you were thinking. Did you notice how much better the video quality was with the Nano+? Autel says to compare the Nano+ with the Air 2s as Maxwell Lee said on your show.
I don't think the Nano+ compares with Air 2s but with the Mavic Air 2. The 2s has a much bigger sensor and specs.
@@armandoferreira8790 : Not that much bigger sensor. The Nano+ has a .8" and the A2s has a 1". I believe the Air 2 only has a .5" sensor. I'm not knocking the Air 2 or 2s. I had the A2 and have the A2s now and love it. There's also the new RYYB tech that allows more light to get to the sensor on the Nano+. Nothing is written in stone right now. We need to get these little Nano's in our hands to do some real world testing to find out.
I'm only saying the Mini 2 is the wrong drone to compare the new Nano+ to. The only thing it shares with the Mini 2 is they are both sub 250g drones.

Yes, the only thing to compare the Mini 2 with the Nano+ is the weight. Being in Europe, for me the weight is really important because of the flights it can do and the license required to fly it.
@@armandoferreira8790 I understand your situation in Europe and the weight limits. Yes the sensor size is between the A2 and A2s but the new RYYB technology also enhances the camera making it closer to or the same as the A2s. Right now all we have is a few videos by influencers but soon we will be able to test them ourselves which will be the real test.
@@SW-Video I am very curious to see the performance of the RYYB sensor. Currently I have a 2 yo Mini 1 and I am looking for an upgrade.
The Nano+ is my current choice unless DJI releases a comparable Mini 3.

Camera is waayyyy better... but i wonder how the standard nano cam looks like
So I am getting a Nano+ next week. The selling point for me is no geo-fencing. I fly mostly FPV but I am starting a side business, and to not have to deal with geo-fencing will be a game changer. This will be my first Autel, I've had DJI and all the frustrations lol. THANKS KEN!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m definitely not confident to spend that amount of money on Autel especially now we have a much better option which is the DJI Mini 3 Pro.
@@charlesniemi7779 I don't know that's it better...yet. The way the specs read the cameras are very comparable. I do like the idea of vertical video tho. Still no complaints with the nano+. Better and better!!

As always, DJI way more polished in every aspect, and for 1/2 price. I don't believe anybody will spend double the price just for those sensors, especially when Mini 2 survives almost any crash. Also I am surprised nobody noticed that jello effect in Autel video, very annoying. It would be nice if DJI has some serious competition, but Autel doesn't seem to be the case.
To be accurate & fair, the Mini 2 Fly More Combo is $599 (US dollars) vs the NaNo+ Premium Bundle $949.
The $350 price difference gets you a more up to date tech, better camera, obstacle avoidance sensors, tracking and NO GEO FENCING 😁 😁 😁
I won't buy another DJI joke until they stop keeping control of MY drone is US airspace. Two times on the job and the controller wouldn't take my waiver info. 45 minutes each time fighting with the Chinese overloards and not getting paid. My Evo is awesome.

Big user and fan of Autel products. I have to agree with you on the price point here on the Nano+. $949 puts this drone cost near the DJI Air2 platform at $988 for flymore or Air2s for $999 ($1299 for flymore) which is arguably a better drone. I feel as though the Nano is leaning on the diminishing return side of the spectrum. It’s a shame they couldn’t get it closer to DJI’s price point
Ken appreciate the review I had a DJi Phantom 3 pro and it is terrible on losing signal. Got the Mini 2 and LOVE IT. Nano + is to expensive so will Wait and see what the Mini 3 brings. GREAT JOB!

Only a small difference but $949 is the price of the Nano+ Premium bundle.... The Mini 2 Fly More Combo is $599. You were comparing just the Mini 2 alone at $449 to the Nano+ bundle. Also the lower priced Nano has an excellent camera as well with all of the obstacle avoidance and most of the Nano+ features. The Nano Premium bundle is $799. The Autel Nano/Nano+ will briefly be the kings of the sub 249 gram drones until the Mini 3 comes out later this spring with a low price and improved specs over DJI's earlier generations.

I just paid $700 for mine on Amazon with 2 extra batteries, case, Charger & more. I also have the DJI Mini 3. Not really sure what one I like best yet! But the camera on the Autel is better so far. I will be using them for our Relaxation Channel.

Good pilots dont need sensors period. Besides for that price the battery should slide in very easy.

The nano camera sensor is closer in size to the air2s than the mini. Just going sub 250 the nano is far superior but I agree it should be compared to something with the same price.
But the evo light is the equivalent of the air 2
His numbers are off. The nano+ premium bundle is $949, the nano+ itself is $800. The nano+ premium bundle is more comparable to the mini 2 fly more combo which is $600. Sensor and price wise he'd be better off comparing the mini 2 and just the nano...
Yes but the nano and Dunnill premium prices are closer to the mini than the nano plus

Having bought an Autel back in October 2022 and crashed it in January, I can tell you that Autel customer service is shockingly bad. I had a crash with a Mini years ago and the customer service is not even comparible. I would urge anyone thinking of Autel (mainly due to the no geo-fencing) to think again. It has been one of the worst companies I've dealt with in the last 30 years.

I've had a careless experience as well but I'm lucky I mannage to fix this drone myself
@@Matanumi Well lets just say that he diagnosis report from Autel came to a total of over 1,200 euros. A guy locally is hopeful that just the camera ribbon needs replacing as it flies just fine. I got stung for over £50 import duty as they dont declare them as temporary imports as a repair always would. They just want to sell you a new one. Mine was 6 months old.
Your price comparison of Mini2 $449 vs Nano+ $949 is incorrect and misleading . In your video You are comparing the single Mini2 price to the nano+ premium bundle. The mini 2 fly more combo is $599 vs Nano + premium bundle at$949. Drone only price is $449 vs $799. A more reasonable comparison would be the mini 2 vs the Nano which is at $649 / $799 for single / premium bundle.

@@KenHeron great thanks. I wouldn’t pay $200 more for the nano vs the mini 2. Certainly not $400 more for the nano +. Autel’s pricing is whacked and going to bite them in the ass IMO.

Did you really compare $449 to $949 when the latter is for a fly more package and the former is basically drone with one battery only? Also I love that Autel has no geofencing. That can be seen as a big plus for many.

@@KenHeron thanks for the video I also find your weighing the units of interest. I did not know the DJI is 236 grams, that allows for some accessories like a wetsuit or light hub

A little deceptive comparison there, Ken. You compared the cheapest version of the Mini 2 to the absolutely HIGHEST price bundle on the EVO. Probably should have mentioned the different versions of the EVO as well. Not cool…but you still are.

Autel pricing thier drones like they are the more established and reliable brand,not to mention their awful batteries and buggy app. They copy dji and sell for a higher cost.

This comparison it's not very wide, the hover on the Autel it's worse as you can see with your naked eye.
The speed of the drone, the wind will take it everytime.
The hovering (record while hovering) it's 10 time worse than the Mini 2... this drone really doesn't worth even 500$, to be real!

The real difference is that Autel does not restrict your flying like DJI can and does do. I do like a foreign country telling me when I can and cannot fly. For that reason, Autel wins.
