Perfect locations for a good comparison Aldryn. I guess what strikes me the most is that this level of high quality video is available on these sub-250g drones. Nice work.
How dji mini 2 create picture is good but if you take it umder low light ,you see the difference, and also autel have 3 ways obstacle, microfon on drone it worth with price
I own the Mini 2. That Nano+ video was sharper. Looked very good. I was impressed. The price and the reliably I know that I’m getting with the DJI will make me stick with what I know though.
Great comparison of an area I enjoy so much and always make it a point to visit when in San Diego. I have the Mini 2 and this side by side seemed to favor the Mini 2. The color definition seemed better and the definition was defined. Based upon what I saw here, I made a good choice. Have to say I love your videos! The total presentation is professional and well thought out and put together and the music choreography is by the best. Thanks for that!
Best comparison video yet on these 2 drones! The dynamic range and detail of the Nano+ is super impressive. How did you find the connectivity? Any issues with obstacle avoidance or range? So many questions and so little time!
My autel xsp had the occasional disconnect issue. I'll be getting the one you just tested. 250 grams. Great camera and video with sensors. Again great video
Love the colour science from the Nano. Wish it was as agile as the Mini 2. Like all Evos they are slow moving forward. YRGB makes a huge difference with the Nano. More details in the shadows can be achieved with Mini 1 and Mini 2 if you have a LOG converter via post processing . Good comparison as usual
Have the nano lite or standard the images coming out of it are very sharp been enjoying it quite a bit, the app had update yesterday and also a firmware update not sure exactly what changed but the drone has been a steady flyer and I noticed my speed felt faster after the firmware update.
Thanks for the video, nice comparison I prefer Nano's image, it looks to have a better dynamic range and the color profile looks little more natural, I think It would be easier and more flexible to color grade it too.
Thanks for this comparison! Nano+ has more dynamic range and more details. What are your experiences with color grading the Nano+ footage? That would be a cool video.
The nano + video was slightly better. I just did the new update from Autel yesterday. I’ll be test flying to see if the reported problems were corrected
The Nano+ camera is well worth it. We will see what the high end Mini 3 costs. I bet it will be similar to the Nano+. If they are not banned in the USA
Looks like the nano has clearer footage. Bit of a worry losing contact but well done with the recovery. Will be interesting to see what the mini 3 (if there is one) has to offer. Cheers.
the camera is very impressive on the nano+ but like you stated fly path defiantly need some firmware updates to iron out some issues with the drone nice video great work

I'm not so sure about that. If you look at the mini to the trees or darker greener. The Nano is showing you more leaves but it's a wider green and it doesn't look natural.
Good vid..thanks. On first viewing the Nano looks to have a better image but on the second viewing it looks a little overexposed and the mini a little too dark but I think I prefer the mini Image quality

I like the Autel for the quality of video. I own most of the models from both Autel and DJI (from the mini to the Phantoms) and I've been a big fan of their products. Due to the geo-fencing in the Puget Sound (Seattle) area I was forced to purchase an Autel EVO ll. I have to say I was surprised at how superior my Autel experience has been compared to DJI. No fly-aways, no prohibited flights (in legal areas), and the footage is excellent right out of the camera (not dark and colorless like your side-by-side showed.)
I actually liked the footage from the Mini 2 better than the Nano+. It almost looked like the Nano+ was in some type of log profile. Both are great, but the Mini 2 offers a better value. You can buy two of the DJIs for the price of the Autel!
Hate being poor that nano+ looks amazing. I have the mini 2 but going to have to start saving for along time. I'll be stuck with the mini 2 but still a great drone...
Great video mate. I like nano so much and with the disconcerting well Nana's a new drone and dji had that many problems it wasn't funny. And I still have problems with my Dji mini 2 not happy with dji. And I really want the nano with follow me and so many more features 👍👍👍
I gotta be honest ,I have funds set aside for the Nano + but so many folks are having problems ,I own the Air2s,Evo2pro and MP2 ,I think I might hold out for the Mini 3 ,12 degrees out in the Alleghenies so I have time to wait
Look at the detail in the dark trees and you can clearly see which is better. That detail in the shadows from the Nano+ RYYB is great with 40% more light to the sensor.
Nice review Aldryn, clearly the larger sensor on the Nano makes a huge difference in the detail. I understand they are both sub 250g drones but we're really comparing apples to oranges as far as pricing. Let's see where the Mini 3 lands in all of this....: )
Great testing Aldryn, the Nano+ footage definitely looked better. And it should look better, it's almost twice the price of the Mini 2. As far as weight is concerned the Nano+ might be in the same category as the Mini 2, but as far as price is concerned, it's really in same category with the Air 2 series of drones.
comparison for market/budget is : Nano vs Mini 2, Nano+ vs Air 2, Lite+ vs Air2s sure, Nano+ is < 250g, so thats a potential plus for it against the Air 2 for some (but I guess less wind resistant) I think Autel have been a little smart, to try to place drone in a slight different price band and tech feature set to dji. of course this assumes they are as reliable, otherwise its for nought really. overall, I think if you need a sub 250, so Air is not an option, Nano+ hits the spot.... camera quality better than mini2, and probably at least as good as Air2. Id guess if/when we see the mini 3, then its going to be pretty comparable to the Nano+... and also in price (as the prediction is it will be more expensive than the mini 2)
I'm not sure it's useful to compare the Mini 2 to the Nano+, whose sensor (and price) is almost double. Why not compare to the plain Nano? Or, considering they are in the same price neighborhood, the Nano+ with the Air 2S?
Prices soared, the chip shortage took its toll. See how much the MAvic 3 vs Mavic2 pro costs when it came out. The new mini 3 won't be $ 300 either. You pay for additional technologies, a larger sensor, a stronger gimbal, a better tonal range, sensors to avoid obstacles, etc. You also pay for the fact that the prices of electronics have gone up. It won't be cheaper. We will compare it with the mini 3 when it comes out.

Winds of 40km/h are not so rare and for me is a deal breaker to switch for something that in spite of a better camera, will loose on flight reliability.

Great comparison video. I believe I would have bought a Nano ➕️ over my Mini 2 if they were in the same price range. Nano ➕️ does have the better picture.
Hi Aldryn. Nice video with the Nano+. I don't think that it is a fair comparison between the Mini 2 and the Nano+ as they just compare in terms of weight. The Nano+ camera is much better than the Mini 2, in terms of camera specs it sits between the MA2 and the A2s. The new RYYB sensor catches more light (also the F1.9 aperture) and has a greater dynamic range. You can see the details on the darker trees where the Mini 2 is just a dark spot. I have seen night shots of the Nano+ and it is even more impressive.
I couldn't see much difference watching it on my phone. I watched it again on my 4k TV and the nano looked far better. Far better details in the shadows and the background in focus and sharp.
The Nano+ is obviously the clear winner but it is difficult to work out exactly what is going on because in most sequences the difference is huge but in a few the Mini2 was a lot closer. There did not appear to be any direct sunlight altering the auto exposures but maybe it was just a question of where the brighter parts of the sky were in relation to the cameras. The shots looking directly down at the beach appeared at first glance to be quite similar. I've only watched this once on an old tablet but tomorrow I will try on a nice screen. I'd love to see you do a comparison with an Air2S in good light - please !
