this is a perfect example about why the sabre F-86 needs to be removed from enigmas until it gets some changes....its an absolute fairy tale. Not just the damage model, but the flight model (not losing speed while pulling MASSIVE G), and its thermal model makes them defeat missiles with a light pull and throttle idle.
I don't think it needs to be removed. We could prob takes it's missiles as a worst case solution, but idk. Def sucks though as F-86 is a dope plane, but it feels lame to fly it knowing how broke it is in so many ways.
Been trying for a good sortie for a while but the best I’ve managed so far is just a compilation of highlights, still sat on it in the hope I get something better. There’ll be more coverage in future though, just keep an eye out for uploads 👍🏼
Love the F-86 and Mig-15 as aircraft but not as modules personally. They and some other older modules are really showing their age now days. Unfortunately, i dont think the devs have much incentive to update them due to the way DCS is monetized. Anyways, awesome flying as usual on your part!
The Sabre especially really highlights that “Full fidelity” is a sliding scale to me, because it is borderline FC3 and doesn’t feel remotely realistic in its simplicity. Considering it sells for £40 along with a lot of other things that are done far better - the Mirage 2000 was £40 when I bought it, the difference is night and day. It just doesn’t work to call them both FF modules, yet when I dare raise this on Hoggit I get downvoted despite no one having an argument against it. Enigma’s video on full fidelity being a trap should’ve really used the Sabre to draw parallels because it really drives his whole point home. The MiG-15 isn’t far behind but there’s at least more to do to get it running - I actually guessed all of the start up apart from the fuel flow stuff to get the engine going based on how the MiG-19 works, which I found to be pretty satisfying - the gear, flaps and weapons are more nuanced than the Sabre as well. The damage modelling for them both is also concentrated, weapons-grade AIDS.
Try to create a forum where it'll give pressure to the devs to update the modules. I'd definitely support it! Tbf tho, this is best sabre to fly. It's light years better than what we have in WT or anything else, really.
I do agree to an extant as other Devs are working their way back towards some of the older Modules and really working to improve them and the systems that have been Implemented into DCS since their original release.. I think give it a little bit of time but I truly feel they will be eventually re-evaluated and worked on.. But, I do relate to your feelings.. They are not invalid at all.
I hate seeing my sabre get shot up to pieces. I dont know if you keep up with the IL-2 Great Battles franchise, but they're working on a Korean War project. Hopefully, they'll have the sabre. It will most likely be the A variant, so it will have the block cockpit, but on the bright side, it will have the leading edge slats!!
@Bullet4MyEnemy So far, they teased a B29 model, Yak 9 (late model), F4U-4B, and IL-10. They didn't say specifically the "historical context." No hint of jets, but if IL-2 put the Me262 and Arado 234 in their WW2 stuff...there's reason to believe we'll get some shooting stars, thunderjets, panthers, the og mig15 without the bis and the a variant of the sabre
I am hyped for the Super Sabre but I don’t think that it and Fresco will be similar enough for the match up to be considered parity. In terms of combat survivability the F-100 will likely be dead on arrival, it might survive the MiG-19 and earlier using speed to run away, but all the things it can run from would decimate it in a turn fight and everything it can’t run from will see it as a free kill. It doesn’t have the thrust to weight to effectively dogfight anything unless it starts behind them and they’re bad pilots. But that’s where the satisfaction of making it work will come in.
Yes, I should of clarified of them both being in the same Theaters at the same time historically and time period of development. The MiG-17 by far has the advantage in most use cases but I am more excited to see how more skilled pilots utilize it especially in servers like Enigma.. It will be very interesting to see and I am excited for that! @@Bullet4MyEnemy
Bagel is so freaking cute! My dog likes to sleep in my lap while I pilot.. and when she wakes up and sits up, my face tracker starts tracking her instead.. so she chooses where we look
SABRE pilot Mr. Wonderbroom, this is some of the best if not THE BEST flying in DCS. Salute ~S! Bullet, I am sure you will agree his flying is exemplary.
Such a shame that DCS does some things so well and some things so poorly. Compared to IL-2, the damage model is garbage. It just makes for frustrating invincible fights like these. As much as I love DCS, I hope there is more competition with it in the future. Would give them the kick up the arse to fix the core basic things instead of throwing out unfinished flashy modules all the time.
I caught some flak for saying DCS damage models were basic/bad in a WarThunder comparison video a month back but this is exactly the sort of thing I was talking about.

13:43 seems like cats know exactly when you are busy when they want their food 😁
When I fuck up my landings I pretend to have a cat…
9:42 u can feel the frustratioj in this dkgfight.

That sounds awesome, if IL-2 push into the jet age I’ll definitely check it out

MiG-17 will be a game changer with its improvements and AB.. Plus, when the F-100 Comes later that will really add some near peer game play.

Plus, historically they also where used as MiG CAP Fighters covering 105's so hehe like I said Historically it fits ;-)@@Bullet4MyEnemy

😅 That sounds equal parts adorable and infuriating
These dogfights are really entertaining to watch. I cant wait for F-4E. It'll be the plane that will pull me back to ECW.
Great piloting as always o7
Awesome video this one! I was wondering what kind of head tracking you use. It looks very smooth.
Thanks, I use TrackIR5 with ProClip
Ahhh the Viggen DM strikes again
Always cool to see the older gen plane tear up the next gen - - would be cool to se late model P51 vs F86

He certainly made me feel like I could’ve been doing a lot of things much better
his flying was terrible, his plane just has a broken flight and damage model
The F-86 is such a joke in DCS, no wonder people ban it from servers. This thing is more survivable than a MBT on god lmao
wow amazing skills!
06:21 why it did shoot like it was stuck? It's because of the neg G?
Like it was stuck? Not sure I get what you mean
