Love your blouse. It's reassuring to hear you talk about boo boos. I too look at some youtube channels and see all this perfectness going on and I think to myself..... I must be loosing the plot. I have been sewing for decades and I still mess things up occasionally.... but no, apparently I'm normal..... phew, that's good to know. Thank you for helping me to be kinder to myself. I love your vidoes.

Lovely video! An adorable top. I remember being 13 years old and marching out to the garbage can to toss a skirt that I was trying to make. I had finally lost my temper after trying to insert a zipper several times. Yes, things do happen sometimes! But if you keep at it you end up with more successes than failures! 😅

Hello Lucy, have you thought about making this top into a summer dress, perhaps with a frill at the bottom?

Looks nice, Lucy! A question: I am learning to use bias binding lately, and I was wondering if one could use bias binding at the neck on this top instead of a facing? Or is it better to stick with a facing? Thanks!

I'm a viewer like you , but in my experience , yes you can. It all depends on what sort of look you're after - a facing adds weight and sits nice and flat , giving a lovely classic finish. With a facing, you understitch to stop it rolling forward , I love the look - you also don't need to have visible stitching on the front, so it looks expensive. Binding is a great easy quick finish, but you'll have topstitching, so in my opinion it looks less expensive and a bit "scant". For sporty casual wear I would use it, but not if it was for a good outfit. With binding, shape it first into the curve and lightly press before sewing it. It will shape the curve and sew better .... also take your time , sometimes it can wave a bit when top stitching

Lovely blouse and fabric 💕. Love your videos Lucy, they are so helpful and informative. I found your high round back adjustment particularly helpful, but have you done one for a high round back for a raglan top?

Did you do any adjustment to the shoulder or back seam? It's really cute and fits you perfectly!
