Great information for all of us TY 👍 love all the tips
Great tips !!! Thank you ! ❤
Very good advice for beginners but also a good reminder for the more experienced as well as we can often be tempted to skip these very important steps! May I also add how important stay stitching is! I always enjoy watching your weekly videos so much and look forward to them every Friday morning.
Thank you Connie, you are absolutely right about stay stitching, such an important step and so tempting to skip as a beginner. Thank you so much for your kind words I really appreciate them.
Wow - thank you, Lucy!
I started my sewing hobby last October and am now obsessed - my poor house feels neglected, I'm sure.
Very useful tips, have subscribed.
Have a good day x
Hi Laura, that is music to my ears - someone new to sewing always makes me happy because i know how much joy you will find from it and someone new to sewing finding my videos is even better, thanks for the sub and I hope you enjoy our big catalogue of videos and new releases each week.
Good tips for every sewist, Lucy, thank you!
Thank you Mara that's really lovely of you to say.
Great tips lucy, I just need to relax and take my time for better results, celine
Good tips! Im going to try a peasant top for my first clothing project. It should give me a little room for error as it is a loose fit.
Really good tips Lucy. Thank you.
Thank you Peeshy I really appreciate your comment
Thanks Lucy, even as an experienced sewist it's good to be reminded of these things. I would also add basting to my list. If in doubt baste a seam first - can save making mistakes.
Hi Jean, great advice, thank you for sharing, so so true.
Love your videos Lucy. Can I add, that when testing, tension, stitch length, needle size, etc. on a scrap, use a contrasting colour thread. It's much easier to see whether the tension is correct. Also, don't omit stay stitching.
Thanks Lucy, I found those sewing tips extremely useful.I am I suppose a " confident beginner " and still making mistakes which l continue to learn from. I now slow my sewing down, when I first started sewing I was so excited to be making a garment that I tended to rush through the process and often made the big mistake of sewing when I was tired, not a good idea !!! Also important to measure twice and cut once !!!!
Totally agree Jennifer, I used to be exactly the same, so excited and determined to sew. It is all part of the learning process and even learning not to sew tired is a good lesson. Thank you for watching.
Really helpful thank you
Question on the magnet ... on the back of the packet it carries a warning for interfering with the computer programmes in machine. What do you think? I'm a bit frightened to use it on my Janome TXL.
Hi mistakes, hahaha, even at my age I’m still making mistakes. One never finishes learning.
Exactly... a mistake is a lesson learned....
Yes 100% agree I will never stop making them and thankfully that means I will never stop learning.
@@grumpy_poo yes indeed!
I wanted to get a Husqvarna machine. I see you use one. Have you ever had problems with those machines after they moved their assembly to China? I live in Canada so unfortunately I won't be able to purchase a machine from you, sorry.
