I got saved listening to a hyper Calvinist radio station back when i was 19 yrs old listening to the old recording's of spencer, martin loyd jones, pink, james montgomery boice and the rest, i got to the point where i had to leave that bunch where they obviously corrected the book and at age 21 heard Dr. Ruckman's video on " basic Manuscript evidence " and audios like this one on Calvinism and the Doc was definitely the best teacher the Lord sent me to listen to ...at age 42 now, this is what still makes youtube worth it...thank you for posting this

At 15:40 is he says "This is the system, unconditional election which means God elects without any purpose" I'm sorry but this is nonsense and is not what Reformed teach...For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Ephesians 2:10...This verse is one of the purposes Reformed teach for why God elects...I'm sorry but you can't take this guy serious. He really butchers and misrepresents Reformed teaching.

He also says Calvin had Servetus burned at the stake, the man was already condemned to be burned at the stake by the Catholic Church and the State Council ruled that he was to be burned...it was a a complicated historical case but it seems ironic a Protestant would charge Calvin in the Servetus case which is one of the ways Catholics argue against Protestantism.

For example, John 3:1-15. Nicodemus, an Israelite teacher, is NOT born again. To be born again, you need the cleansing waters and Holy Spirit.
Ezekiel 36:22-27, the cleansing waters will be providing by God and God will put the Spirit within His people.

Gruet’s book was later found and burned along with his house while his wife was thrown out into the street to watch.” (C)”Calvin cut off the head of Jacques Gruet “for having written impious letters, libertine verses, and for working to overthrow ecclesiastical ordinances.” (D)Quoting Stephan Zweig’s “The Right to Heresy”: “Jacques Gruet was racked and then executed merely for having called Calvin a hypocrite.” (E)”This regime was resisted by a party incorrectly described as ‘Libertines’, which Calvin succeeded in overcoming by force. More or less Unitarian in their views, they were required to sign a confession drawn up by Calvin in 1558. John Calvin is a man who is held up by many evangelicals as an example of the most perfect systematic theologian that ever lived. And yet it would appear that he did not even meet the basic requirements of a NT overseer/bishop as to godly character! 1 Tim 3:2 An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not addicted to wine or pugnacious, but gentle, peaceable, free from the love of money. The New Testament approach to false teachers is the precise opposite of what Calvin’s modus operandi was: 2 Tim 2:24 The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, 25 with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, 26 and they may come to their senses {and escape} from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will. As to the relationship of his doctrine to his practice, as he plainly taught that everything that happens is God’s will (I can provide the quotes if you would like), then it necessarily follows that he considered everything he did as God’s will, even having his detractors beheaded, burned at the stake, or banished. I’m saying that one’s theology inevitably works out in one’s practice, and this was all too apparent in the life of John Calvin. If I had someone who disagreed with my theology put to death (had I the political power Calvin had), would I be qualified to teach the Word of God? One’s actions don’t have any bearing on the authenticity of one’s teaching? It seems to me that we should hold ANY theologian to the same moral standard as any other teacher in the body of Christ.

I find it notable that Ruckman cited to Exodus 3:19. "I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand." That verse explains God omniscience. Ruckman then skips all the way to Exodus 8:32. “And Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also, neither would he let the people go.” His conclusion is that God did not predestinate Pharaoh's actions. Ruckman claims that it was Pharaoh who hardened his own heart and God did not predestinate the hardening of Pharaoh's heart. Ruckman makes that argument by skipping over and not mentioning Exodus 4:21.
God told Moses before he even returned to Egypt that he would harden Pharaoh’s heart against the children of Israel so that Pharaoh would not let them go. “And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.” (Exodus 4:21 AV)
Exodus 4:21 impeaches Ruckman's Arminian gospel. The problem with Ruckman’s Arminian analysis is that he purposely overlooked a key passage (Exodus 4:21) that clearly states that it was God who planned ahead of time to harden Pharaoh’s heart. If Ruckman is the bible expert that he claims to be, that would mean that his failure to mention Exodus 4:21 was purposeful. It seems he has avoided Exodus 4:21, because it impeaches his Arminian theology.

It us God's will to save the world, but they might be saved because they also have a choice in the matter. Matthew 23:37 (KJV) O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

Once a person believes they become elect to be conformed unto Christ’s image, but his point is that unconditional election is completely Gods choice without any regard to a man’s choice, but in the Bible God elects according to foreknowledge, not unconditionally. After the Lord saved me, I was IFB for 35 years and KJV only. By the way, responding to the lady below, Martin Lloyd Jones was not a hyper Calvinist, Calvinist, yes; hyper Calvinist, no. Nevertheless, I’m so grateful That God led me to reformed theology. I doubted my salvation for 35 years because of the hyperfocus of judging oneself perpetuated by IFB. Now I look at Christ. We are saved by works, just not our works. We are not kept safe by our works but the works of Christ. It is all of Christ. How glorious is he! How merciful is he! He is worthy of all the praise. Salvation is of the Lord; the only thing I contribute is my sin.

In God's FOREKNOWLEDGE, He knows who will be saved or not saved BUT He does NOT withhold the Gospel from the lost. It is His will that ALL come to repentance. Jesus died for the whole world. Calvinism is a man-made doctrine. We are totally depraved people without Jesus BUT Jesus' atonement is not limited. God knew that most of Israel would reject their Messiah, but did that stop Jesus from trying to saved Israel? No!! He wept for His people.
John the Baptist was the forerunner to Jesus and he taught repentance to Israel. Praise God, there was a remnant that was saved.
If you are in a Church that teaches Calvinism, please leave. There was NO new doctrines given by the Holy Spirit after the Book of Revelation was written. Salvation is by grace through faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. All have access to this grace BUT we all have a free will. God knows what decision you will make but He will try to save you anyway.

Piffle!!! I wish Ruckman was still alive so I could ask him about the very first verses he uses to "refute" Calvinism (Ezra 7:13-16, Ex. 35:21). Where do these contexts show they deal with salvation? The verses he quoted at the beginning that Calvinists (and others) use, deal with "coming, knowing, and being granted" salvation by GOD. NOT by the will of man! Calvinists don't deny free will exists in humanity, it's just that man can only do that which is consistent with his fallen nature, and what man CANNOT DO, is choose or know God without the activity of God The Holy Spirit!! It is His job to convict people of sin, righteousness, and judgment. It is His job to regenerate. "Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost" 1 Cor. 12:3.---- So if the Spirit is not IN us, we can't confess Jesus. If the Spirit is IN us, we are born again, regenerated, justified, and saved. It's not complicated.

    Appendix III
The Meaning of "Kosmos" in John 3:16
It may appear to some of our readers that the exposition we have given of John 3:i6 in the chapter on "Difficulties and Objections" is a forced and unnatural one, inasmuch as our definition of the term "world" seems to be out of harmony with the meaning and scope of this uword in other passages, where, to supply the world of believers (God's elect) as a definition of "world" would make no sense. Many have said to us, "Surely, 'world' means world, that is, you, me, and everybody." In reply we would say: We know from experience how difficult it is to set aside the "traditions of men" and come to a passage which we have heard explained in a certain way scores of times, and study it carefully for ourselves without bias. Nevertheless, this is essential if we would learn the mind of God.
Many people suppose they already know the simple meaning of John 3:i6, and therefore they conclude that no diligent study is required of them to discover the precise teaching of this verse. Needless to say, such an attitude shuts out any further light which they otherwise might obtain on the passage. Yet, if anyone will take a Concordance and read carefully the various passages in which the term "world" (as a translation of "kosmos") occurs, he will quickly perceive that to ascertain the precise meaning of the word "world" in any given passage is not nearly so easy as is popularly supposed. The word "kosmos," and its English equivalent "world," is not used with a uniform significance in the New Testament. Very far from it. It is used in quite a number of different ways. Below we will refer to a few passages where this term occurs, suggesting a tentative definition in each case:
    1. "Kosmos" is used of the Universe as a whole: Acts I7:24--
"God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is Lord of heaven and earth."
    2. "Kosmos" is used of the earth: John I3:1 ; Eph. I:4, etc., etc.--
"When Jesus knew that His hour was come that He should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved His own which were in the world He loved them unto the end." "Depart out of this world" signifies, leave this earth.
"According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world." This expression signifies, before the earth was founded-compare Job 38:4 etc.
    3. "Kosmos" is used of the world-system: John I2:31 etc. "Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the Prince of this world be cast out-"-compare Matt. 4:8 and 1 John 5:19, R. V.
    4. "Kosmos" is used of the whole human race: Rom. 3:19, etc.--
"Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God."
    5. "Kosmos" is used of humanity minus believers: John I5:i8; Rom. 3:6--
"If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you." Believers do not "hate" Christ, so that "the world" here must signify the world of unbelievers in contrast from believers who love Christ.
"God forbid: for then how shall God Judge the world." Here is another passage where "the world" cannot mean "you, me, and everybody," for believers will not be "judged" by God, see John 5:24. So that here, too, it must be the world of unbelievers which is in view.
    6. "Kosmos" is used of Gentiles in contrast from Jews: Rom. 11:12 etc.
"Now if the fall of them (Israel) be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them (Israel) the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their (Israel's) fulness." Note how the first clause in italics is defined by the latter clause placed in italics. Here, again, "the world" cannot signify all humanity for it excludes Israel!
    7. "Kosmos" is used of believers only: John 1:29; 3:16, 17; 6:33; I2:47; 1 Cor. 4:9; 2 Cor. 5:19. We leave our readers to turn to these passages, asking them to note, carefully, exactly what is said and predicated of "the world" in each place.
Thus it will be seen that "kosmos" has at least seven clearly defined different meanings in the New Testament. It may be asked, Has then God used a word thus to confuse and confound those who read the Scriptures? We answer, No! nor has He written His Word for lazy people who are too dilitary, or too busy with the things of this world, or, like Martha, so much occupied with "serving"," they have no time and no heart to "search" and "study" Holy Writ! Should it be asked further, But how is a searcher of the Scriptures to know which of the above meanings the term "world" has in any given passage? The answer is: This may be ascertained by a careful study of the context, by diligently noting what is predicated of "the world" in each passage, and by prayerfully consulting other parallel passages to the one being studied.
The principal subject of John 3:16 is Christ as the Gift of God. The first clause tells us what moved God to "give" His only begotten Son, and that was His great "love;" the second clause informs us for whom God "gave" His Son, and that is for, "whosoever (or, better, 'every one') believeth;" while the last clause makes known why God "gave" His Son (His purpose), and that is, that everyone that believeth "should not perish but have everlasting life." That "the world" in John 3:i6 refers to the world of believers (God's elect), in contradistinction from "the world of the ungodly" (2 Pet. 2:5), is established, unequivocally established, by a comparison of the other passages which speak of God's "love." "God commendeth His love toward US"--the saints, Rom. 5:8. "Whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth"--every son, Heb. I2:6. "We love Him, because He first loved US"--believers, 1 John 4:19. The wicked God "pities" (see Matt. 18:33). Unto the unthankful and evil God is "kind" (see Luke 6:35). The vessels of wrath He endures "with much long-suffering" (see Rom. 9:22). But "His own" God "loves"!!

    John 6:37-39 KJV
[37] All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. [38] For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. [39] And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
    Romans 8:29-39 KJV
[29] For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. [30] Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. [31] What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? [32] He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? [33] Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. [34] Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. [35] Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? [36] As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. [37] Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. [38] For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, [39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The above is not what the Bible says about salvation, therefore it is heresy. This is only one of the 5 pedals that they hang their theological hat on, and 4.5 of them are incorrect. The only half that they got correct is the fact that predestination is a Bible doctrine, but it is not about salvation. Predestination is the act of being conformed into the image of Jesus Christ, something that only happens after you are born again. The first step always, when attempting to taint Calvinism as wicked “heresy” (when, of course, it is nothing but Sola Scripture), is to misrepresent and mischaracterize Calvinism from the get-go. For instance, my dear Wormwood, always suggest that Calvinists believe humans have no “will,” choice, or say in their “destinies.” Additionally, make ‘Sola Scriptura’ out to mean something entirely different than what it actually means, so that your opponents cannot use scripture (i.e. Jn 6:44) to buttress their points. Lastly, make very sure you appeal to people’s vanity and desire to be gods themselves! Tell them that Calvinism robs them of all volition and choice and that your way is the way where THEIR ideas and understanding are pivotal, deep and entirely separate from anything like God’s Will or some such. Your Loving uncle. Rob

2 Peter 3:9 (KJV) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
1 John 2:2 (KJV) And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Hebrews 2:9 (KJV) But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
1 Timothy 2:4 (KJV) Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Here is a verse that shows that people resisted God's will and instead did their own will.
Matthew 23:37 (KJV) O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
Also here are verses that show the reason ("for this cause God shall send them strong delusion ") is because they first "received not the love of the truth that they might be saved"
2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 (KJV) And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Because they first believed not the truth because they had pleasure in unrighteousness, for this cause God sent them strong delusion that they might believe a lie and be damned. It was not an eternal, arbitrary, unconditional choice by God to damn them to eternally to the lake of fire, but in response to them first not receiving the love of the truth. Then "for this cause" God sent them strong delusion that they might believe a lie and be damned.

These people are level one thinkers, I don't mean that as an attack on them, it's just that they are not very adept and wise with deeper understanding. It is best to give false Christianity one fastball, waist high, down the center and if the audience rejects their weaker position, just leave them to themselves. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink, unless you have a block of salt.
