    What's the secret to creating unforgettable blues guitar solos? Ever wonder why some guitar solos just stick with you, while others fade into the background? It's not always about the flurry of notes, but rather the space between them and the choice of each note that truly makes a difference. Dive into our latest video where we break down the art of blues guitar soloing into digestible, impactful lessons.
    Discover how the power of silence can elevate your solos, crafting melodies that resonate, and the significance of restraint in music. Learn to express more with less, using just four notes to convey a range of emotions and stories. We'll explore lead guitar techniques that add depth and color to your playing, challenging you to think differently about your approach to the guitar.
    Unlock up to five different ways to play the same four notes, showcasing the versatility and creativity that can come from limitations. Get grounded in the B minor pentatonic scale, and see how a deep understanding of scale structures can provide the building blocks for your creative expression. Lastly, I emphasize the importance of phrasing-how to make each note count, each silence speak volumes, and turn your solos into coherent, expressive narratives.
    Whether you're a beginner looking to start your journey in blues guitar or an experienced player seeking to refine your skills and find new inspiration, this video is for you. Click play now to transform the way you think about and play guitar solos. Let's unlock the full potential of those strings together!

      Fantastic to hear that Rodney! Yea, as you can see - it's more about the technique and the phrasing more than it is about knowing a million notes all over the fretboard

    Hi Will. Which model Srat is that? It almost looks like the SRV model, without the stratchplate.

    • @willripleyguitar
      @willripleyguitar  9 дней назад +1

      Yea, it's got SRV colors for sure but it's a 2005 Custom Shop model that I bought about 6 years ago. It's one of the heavy relic'd models. Originally I was going for a John Frusciante type of look but I changed out the pickguard for a black one which I felt matched me a bit more. I put some Eric Johnson pickups in it (not because of EJ but rather they are just slightly modified vintage style pickups and a friend was selling them). It definitely gives me everything you could want from a Strat! What are you playing?

      @@willripleyguitar I play a grey/gold 1999 Strat, or maybe 2000, a 'Roadhouse' model, that is USA built, with Texas Specials, and a JCM. You guys use 'programs' that play into the PA? Seems amps are old news, now. lol, I think I will put this lesson onto my laptop and listen endless times last thing before bed, through headphones. Get it into one's sub conscious.

      @@WEEwillycoolb68-q5r nice man, ain't a thing wrong with that set up. JCM 800 by chance? I have a 80s Jubilee right now but used to have a JCM 800. Right now I'm using a Boss TAE which is an attenuator and IR loader (Basically means that it provides speaker emulation). I used it for this lesson through my Fender Super Reverb. But also the vocal mic picked up a bit of sound - The 2 sources sounded pretty good together. I've use the TAE always for my Rip It Up Club weekly live lessons and for RUclips. I've used it for live shows too, but I don't find it necessary. I do see myself using it if we fly into shows. Then I just bring my amp head and the TAE. Did you get a chance to grab the jam track and reference material? Give the techniques a shot over a jam track! But I hear ya, they've shown that our brain soaks up the info into our sub conscious like you're describing. Here's the link: www.willripleyguitar.com/best-blues-guitar-solo

      @@willripleyguitar Hi Will, my Marshall is the JCM 2000 TSL model. It is a combo, and is so heavy. It has the two speakers, and makes anything sound good. Had to have work done on it some years ago. It has quite a bit of what looks like solid state, but still sounds so good. My Les Standard has 480R and 490T pups, and that is so creamy. My Hotrod is very good as well.
