I got my first doll when I was 7, Caroline Abbott I absolutely adore her and will always be my favorite except I’m eyeing my dream doll Kanani and waiting for the perfect one. But I would recommend to anyone seeing this if they don’t already have Caroline she is beautiful and the most wonderful hair and I love her and I just got Maryellen last week :) I’m happy to see other people older collecting them and it makes me happier to see people like me collecting them at an older age and I adore these videos :)

This video I have watched 3 times before tonight, now watching it for a 4th time tonight it hits a little differently as I have just purchased my first American Girl doll. In my 2 years of doll collecting, American Girl dolls never appealed to me, don't get me wrong, they are beautiful it's just I am Australian and never grew up with them so I am sure there is a big nostalgia factor that plays into this doll line. Anyway, watching this video again while my first American Girl is in transit to me. I am so excited. I hope you are well friend.
Manifesting a good condition Cecile for under 100 dollars for both of us. She's impossible to find at a good price in decent condition. I'm a casual collector and I LOVE hunting for a good deal on a doll with loose joints or stains or messy hair and touching them up but her rarity coupled with her spiral curls means you either see her for like 500 dollars in box or for 150 with a ruined wig😭
Wow I bought my Cecile 5 years ago. I don't remember what she cost, I think it was about $200. She had all of her pieces and I still love her so much. If you're looking for a good price I've had really good luck with Facebook marketplace.
@@cthulhucult3230 I actually ended up finding a cecile on ebay last year! She's in great condition with all her pieces. She was a bit pricey but with all her outfits included I couldn't pass her up. She's such an exciting find.
you dont understand how excited i got when i saw this when i clicked on youtube, OMG!! i love and missed your AG videos sm, and all my doll videos are literally my fave to binge watch!! I love it!! :))
@@xCanadensis it's such a loss for AG as well, especially since they run the doll hospital. if a doll's head was defective, they could still use its limbs for parts!
It's possible that they do it at some stores as some do have hospitals but ours was a temporary pop-up one. They were so serious about us destroying them that we literally had to send pictures to corporate to prove we did it... it was definitely surprising. They're very protective. Their return policy was way too lenient :/ We had a kid come in 3 times during the time I worked there returning Tenney dolls with slightly messy hair and random clothes and then buying brand new ones the same day... Basically infinite Tenney's. AG actually has a surprisingly high manufacturing cost but they care A LOT about customer satisfaction. I believe when I worked there it was like $40 just to manufacture a base doll, not counting the packaging or clothing or special features like Josefina's earrings or freckles. (this wasn't something I could confirm but the regional manager said it in a meeting once when they were trying to get us hyped about the quality and value of the product).
I have no interest in american girl dolls but your voice is so soothing that i need your 1-hour long videos to keep me awake while studying. Thanks, brook!! ❤

my favorite american girl is probably molly. she was my mom’s favorite too, and my mom fought so hard to get her for me years after she had retired, so she’s really special because of that. i also got emily maybe a year later, and i completely agree, i love the best friend dolls so much-i currently have emily and ivy and hope to expand-and it’s such a shame they retired pretty early on.

I had a cheat sheet ;) I used to have videos for each doll so before RUclips forced me to delete them, I wrote down the dates so I would never lose them! I used to remember them all but after I hit like 15 I couldn’t do it anymore ;0;
I have a list too! Not the dates just the names lol those TM get hard to remember what I came up with when you get to as many as I have lol I’m at 84 total now!! 😂

I was wondering if you have any tips on how to clean your American girl dolls? I am unsure how to go about it since they have fabric bodies and stuffing?
I honestly don’t mess with the bodies but you an take the stuffing out, wash the body and replace with new stuffing if they’re mildewy or stained or something. Toothbrush and soap/water for the body/face (just avoid eyes and wig cap with the water and soap). If the marks are BAD and not ingrained (highlighter or pindot would be ingrained stains that have to be removed with acne cream and sunlight) then baking soda+toothbrush. You can use a magic eraser ONLY ON THE LIMBS. Magic erasers are actually just fine sandpaper so they will remove paint and blushing from the face
Your mom is so sweet for getting you some of those dolls. My first doll was unfortunately a create your own that looked nothing like me. Huge fail but I can’t sell her cuz it was my first.
Hi again Brooke, so guess who I found at Goodwill for $7 today? Truly Me #23! Funny coincidence lol. My first American Girl, as I much prefer My Life As and specifically the older Madame Alexander My Life As dolls with their beautiful face sculpts. But I like to let the tide take me where it wants to go also and I thought number 23 was pretty and interesting so I bought her. She is wearing Felicity's BeForever gown so it was an awesome deal. By the way right now there is a really cool My Life aquarium which lights up and really works for sale at Walmart for about $12 with lots of colorful fish!! Thought you might like to know. I always enjoy watching your videos and comment here and there, and I hope you get your Cecile. :) I do prefer the AG dresses on dolls and I buy them. I may also get Mia St. Clair someday as she is my favorite American Girl.

I have 13 American girl dolls and my favorite is Samantha as I have my childhood one from when I was 9 in 2003 and now my 35th anniversary Samantha as well and Samantha honestly just related to me really well personality wise and over the years I've had so many Samantha moments and with me being 27. Five are childhood dolls (Molly, Felicity, Samantha, Nellie, Marisol) and then I bought Maryellen a few years back for myself because I fell in love with her story. I always wanted Addy, but I don't think I have the room for her right now. Your collection is amazing! You're so lucky to have all those cool thrifting finds. My area is super lame when it comes to thrifting and secondhand stores (small towns be like that sometimes), so I've actually never found any AG dolls while doing it. I had #23, she was my look alike doll. Mine was Pleasant co and I got her in 2006 at AGPNY. I named her Katrina!! I also had Kirsten, Jess, Samantha, Emily, Kaya (pleasant co), Chrissa, #35 (Maddie) and #49 (Savannah). Unfortunately in a desperate quest for money I sold all my dolls a couple years ago :(
This was so fun! I enjoyed hearing the stories of how you ended up with each doll. What does "White Body" mean? I'm not an American Girl collector so I'm not familiar with the terminology. 😅
A white body doll literally has white fabric for the torso instead of the tan fabric. The only dolls to have white torsos are Sam, Molly and Kirsten from the first few years of production. So basically white body dolls both literally have white bodies and are early production dolls.
It’s basically a flex only to AG collectors. Just means it’s an original run one (the oldest are actually numbered and signed but then they did just white bodies after that until they switched to more flesh-toned ones)
Ehhh. Stronger, yes. But the dry rot isn’t actually a dry rot, it’s a chemical reaction to the hair/the air around the doll generally. I haven’t discovered the secret but ortho bands didn’t work unfortunately
If you really want to goober up the eye mechs so they don't sleepy eye, just use an eyedropper to put a few drops of water in each eye, it will make the mechanism stop working like your #23 by the time it dries. Just don't do it to PC dolls, it might cause some silver eye. But my Kit was out on the rain when I was bleaching a stain out (oops sorry Kit!) And didn't expect it to rain...her eyes now behave like your #23

And while it is of Hebrew origin (see the bibilical Tamar), it is a very popular name in Russia and in Georgia (the country in the Caucasus, not the state in the U.S.A.). I cannot afford to buy American Girl dolls because even if I could order one on eBay or Amazon, the shipping feas to Central Europe are "astronomical". Their names are Sabrina Elizabeth and Sage Nicole Copland, Molly Jean Maclntyre , a doll is not Lea but I liked the name so her name is Lea Amy Clark,Julie Marie and Juliina Sophia Albright who are twins and Juliana goes by he middle name, Felicity Beth Merriman , Elizabeth Jean cole, my last one is Josephina Marie Montoya Romero
You'd think they would donate the not perfect dolls maybe to kids who would never be able to get one. That would have been too much for me also to destroy a toy like that.

oh no i'm so sad to hear about what the store workers have to do to the returned AG dolls 😭 if i had to trash a doll like that i would never recover

I’ve learned the hard way that magic erasers are sandpaper and that’s what the magic is… I wouldn’t want to lose their blushing or face paint

When I brush my dolls hair I use wigs brush from Sally's . If works really well. I found out about u when I looked up rainbow high dolls.
Me too :) I have a big paddle brush and a styling brush for them! The AG brush shape is a terrible shape for them haha

And while it is of Hebrew origin (see the bibilical Tamar), it is a very popular name in Russia and in Georgia (the country in the Caucasus, not the state in the U.S.A.).
