Exactly, the wix will work just fine. Just make sure it has a bypass valve, some don’t and the OE Perkins one requires it…. I’ve been using Mobile 1 M1-102A and SuperTech ST3614 on my Perkins 403F-15 for the last 5 years, at 1788 hours now, the engine is impecable.
I don’t see any problems here, the “wiggles” are for fitting a bit of extra filtering media for the long service intervals. I’ve been using Amsoil Full Synthetic diesel oil with the Mobil1 M1-102A and some Supertech ST3614 filters on my 403F-15 powered generator for the last 5-6 years, well over 1800 hours on it and it runs like the first day, engine is impecable on the inside. But yes, there are some crappy filters out there, *ahem! fram…* Just make sure it has a bypass valve, some like the Fleetguard LF3874 don’t. The only problem I have with the OE Perkins filter is the lack on info on where it is manufactured, the filtration efficiency and micron rating…
Uhhh-- What's the implication here? Unlike a garbage fram orange can filter, there are no obvious deficiencies here. Just because one has squiggles and the other doesn't shouldn't inform our opinion of merit.
My perkins just hit 28k hrs. Wix been on it ever oil change. Runs my home 24/7. Those sqeegly lines don't mean anything. Lol.
