Get the ULTRA and have best of both worlds. My bike is making 119hp and 129trq its crazy fun. And when I ride alone and wife doesn't ride I take the tour pack off takes 2 minutes. Set to side and go rip around town and it moves even faster with tour pack off. plus, I love the extra lights on the front for visible reasons.
Yeah, I just mentioned the lights to my wife this morning. I am pretty shocked that everyone says the ultra, I didn't even consider it and from what I'm hearing it makes the most sense! Thanks again!
@@streetsean it most definitely does because it comes with the whole package and when you want to take it off you have the option to do so. So it’s like buying 2 bikes in 1 lol.
Just purchased ultra limited 2012. Low mileage. Great motorcycle. I've had two street glides. Ultra the best way to go. Humble opinion. True touring bike.
Yes, the ultra makes a lot of sense. I actually picked up a '16 ultra with low mileage and then traded that 2 months later for an Indian '17 roadmaster. Similar bikes, just the roadmaster was a better bike and a great deal.
I have a 21 ultra in the snake venom paint color and its nice to go ahead and have the lowers, and extra lighting and tour pack.. My is stage 2 making good power and i have detach where i can take tour pack off and can be a street glide when i want or tourpack on when you take a weekend trip. and the lower fairings is worth having for cold weather
Snake venom is the nicest colour Harley has come out with, in my opinion. I am really leaning to the Ultra as it just makes so much sense. I just didn't even think of it when we decided to get a touring bike, but it's top of the list now. Thanks
Yes, I got the ultra. The sales guy said to not bother taking it off as it will rattle and you'll find that you use it more than not. But it's still on my list of something I may do
I got on both before committing and I get what you say about value, but when I rode the Streetglide I felt I was one with the bike versus the Ultra. I get that it checks all of the boxes but for you to really love your choice you'll need to get on both and see which one you instinctively want. For me I got a 2017 Streetglide and I love it
That's the one I originally went to look at, a 17 and an 18....love the bike. I'm more with the value now though as we would want to get a tour pack put on for trips...but you're right, I need to ride them to see. Thanks!
I have an ultra minus the tour pack it looks like a street glide, if you’re worried about people’s perception that you’re riding an old man’s bike get a nice loud exhaust and run at full pin, or do what I did and buy a Hayabusa to run when you feel like going fast. You can’t look fast if you’re always going slow
Haha... that's a good point. I've finally hit that age where I don't care how I look anymore, but I do like the look without the tour pack. I did buy an ultra and had it for about 6 months and traded in for a roadmaster as it had all the things I was going to change on the ultra. Ride safe
I have an Ultra, Best friend has a Road Glide. Guess who ends up carrying all the extra shit when he runs out of room? And it is cheaper to go from Ultra to Street than Street to Ultra. And I would never give up my lowers.
So it's more like a pick up truck, I can get down with that...haha. I say I don't like lowers but I'm the first to complain when I get a rock or bug off the shin....I am leaning towards an ultra now for sure. Thanks!
I settled on the ultra. I'm around 5'9" and I do see what you mean about the height. I look like an idiot sometimes trying to get the kickstand up...haha
Test ride a Heritage you will love it😎 Realistically how much two up will you be doing? My wife and I ride all the time 4-6 hrs regularly, I’ve owned a Sport glide, and both your other considerations. The Heritage is the most comfortable HD I’ve owned.
My wife doesn't ride, and as of now doesn't plan to, so do ride two up probably 75% of the time. My wife really likes the look of the heritage, but we would be looking to do longer trips on our next bike so thought a proper touring bike would be the way to go.
Through the whole video, you never once mention the most important part of choosing which motorcycle. You don’t say anything about test riding either bike. Do that with your wife, then make a decision. No one’s opinion should play into your decision.
Yeah, you're right! We did demo ride a new Street Glide and my wife hated it but it was because it didn't have a back rest. She will be more comfortable on either one compared to my sport glide. We did rent an Indian Roadmaster a year or so ago and she does like how comfortable those are and that would be similar to the ultra. Thanks!
I will say this, I bought a fat boy the wife hated the seat it had a back rest we demo rode a Ultra she loved it, i cheaped out bought a classic spent a ton of money adding the lowers the rear speakers and other things test ride some bikes if your going used you should be able to find a street glide set up with a tour pack but keep in mind the Ultras have dual cooling and SG don’t! The lowers are nice on any ride of 500 miles a day for a week ride safe
@markfrank2454 My wife doesn't mind the ride on my sport glide with the saddlemen seat and our little back rest, but only for about an hour. I think she'll be good on either of the SG or UL, but you do bring up a good point about the lowers and the dual cooling...we do want it for long trips so the decision should be easy. Thanks!
You are weay wrong on the only difference. The largest difference when you get to the 8 valve system the cooling is only available in the Ultra . Nice to have the Cooling to maintain your motor. 114 are amazing. The ground clearence is much better on the Ultra and handeling is better.
Seems to me like you put form over function. I feel like you care more about what other people think about you and your image based off what you said. Who cares about geezer glide or road sofa or what other people think. The truth is, if you’re going to really ride and be two up a lot then the Ultra is the obvious choice. If you’re only riding 2,000 miles a year and “bar hopping” around town and the occasional “bikes and coffee” then get the street glide.
I agree with you 💯!!! We have the Sport Glide for the bar hopping, and this will be mostly for long trips. In all honesty, the trend seems to be buying a Road or Street Glide so when I went in I was only looking at street Glides, never even occurred to me to look at an ultra. I think it will come down to the deal I get, but I am leaning toward an ultra now though. Thanks!
This is what I wanted to say. Glad he came to his senses and went with the Ultra. I was shopping for bikes last month(actually started as shopping for Dixxons). I had my heart set on a 13' road glide CVO(30k miles). The dealership tried to sell me on a new road glide instead by having me test ride a new bike as well. They really tried pushing the new bike and didn't want to listen to me about wanting the used cvo(I ended up walking out and Im lucky I didn't buy on impulse)... I went home and did some research. Over a couple of weeks of visiting the dealer and researching online... I found a 21 Ultra Limited in s ake venom with 2k miles on it and I told them I would only pay cycle trader's fair value(it was 8k less than asking). I walked out with a damn near new ultra limited for 21k that the daughter feels comfortable riding on and that I still feel comfortable riding in the cold. Call it a Gheezer glide if you want, but I don't see many road glides out in the winter. That road glide cvo sure was sexy though!
@andrewfegal The Snake Venom is one of my favorite colour's that harley has ever done! Great choice, and yes, I think you made the right decision. I think people calling it a geezer glide are just not "wise" enough to know the versatility the tour pack brings...🤣👍 Ride safe!

Get Ultra Limited with quick release tour pack. Throw tour pack on for long trips. You also get the extra day time led lights
Yes, I got the ultra. The sales guy said to not bother taking it off as it will rattle and you'll find that you use it more than not. But it's still on my list of something I may do
I absolutely love my 2021 Ultra.
I'm warming up to the idea more and more!

The ultra sits higher so if you’re on the shorter side get the street glide I think it’s balanced better also.
I settled on the ultra. I'm around 5'9" and I do see what you mean about the height. I look like an idiot sometimes trying to get the kickstand up...haha

Bro, quit yapping on and on and just go get the Ultra.
Thanks, you’ll thank me later. Done!
Wise words!!! Let's get er done!!!👍
Ultra is the best

Once you have it you won't want to go back unless maybe I become single.

@@streetsean test ride should do it
