Thank you for watching this video! We are having a big push trying to get the subs up for the channel, please consider liking and subscribing and I am sure I will see you on another video!!👍👍❤✔
Ah the mix tape and Mr Benn. Two Core memories of my childhood in one video! Looking forward to seeing the Monster Beetle refresh! Great video as always 🙌🏻👍🏻
M, check the connectors, Tamiya (Molex) connectors are known to cause just such a problem. Swap them with anything else and see if the problem is still present. Awesome video guys!!!!
LOL!!! The tumbling terror there at the end!! kind of reminds me of the goofy spy gags in like Austin Power or something where they have to tumble across the room to avoid danger but do it in an awkward and silly way! The cutting out issue is weird especially if you have already swapped out the motor and esc. I guess something in the receiver could be getting hot after some time and freaking out but it is very unlikely. I hate the electrical gremlins like that! I am looking forward to the new look of the MB!!
It reminds me of a Critter how it scutters around tumbling as soon as it gets the chance. I think stripping it down is the best bet with it now really. New look coming soon! 👍
Friday morning, fresh coffee and a new RC So & So episode - what could be better. But than I was shocked. Bob Ross will go away?! As a true Kid auf the 80ies (my first RC was a Frog back then) I grew up with nights of watching him on Tele after the normal program has ended - sad day to loose him here again. But hey - time for something new and I bet it will be awesome as always. PS: When the motor won't run but the steering works I doubt it is something within the receiver.
I have a fresh coffee also on the go, happy Friday! Here in the UK we had Tony Hart doing similar things to Bob Ross, but the new design is not related to a painter 😂 something definitely strange is going on with the power. Investigations are needed 🤔👍
Subbed! Fun vid! For the cut outs, have you checked the gearing? Everything freely moving? Could be a heat thing. I love my MB, though it is quite modded. I hope you get the internet back to the overlords on time btw.
Welcome onboard and enjoy the nonsense! I do think it will have to be stripped and mods investigated, I bet it’s something obvious that wrong, also the internet is back safely 😆😂👍
Again a great start in the weekend. The Hoff teared down the wall? Our history books have to be rewritten🤣🤣🤣 Maybe the ESC shut down because of the diff. I you're using the standard, it intents to widen itself and then the hearbox. Therefore it's more resistence, by bending the gear box, more mechanical inprecisements and more amperage. The MIP ball diff is a great replacement
I remember him on top of that wall with his jacket covered in lightbulbs! ThTs a good tip with the diff as it does become frustrating when it goes on the blink 🤔👍
Am I a bad person as I have one of these thrown in the back of the garage in a cabinet and also the qd (quick drive) version p.s love the Mr Ben throw back used to love watching it when I was a little boy 👍👍👍
Cool jumps, splashes and tumbles fella! 😂 Of course the monster beetles still relevant..... well it certainly is for old farts like us.... Urm, I mean anyone who grew up in the 70s /80's! 😉 I own 3 of them, and take one of them out every week. Once you have fitted an MIP diff, upgraded the motor, replaced those lousy CVA'S with better dampers, limited the travel in the rear trailing arms(to stop the dog bones getting spat out) and re enforced the rear body mount bar with meccano it's actually a damn fun and reliable rc with pretty good handling! Can't go wrong with an ORV or a CWO1 as far as I'm concerned! 👍 👍 👍 👍
Thanks for watching and that is a right list of suggested upgrades, almost sounds like Tamiya only supply half the kit 😂 I will discuss this with the Chief Engineer as that might solve our issues, thank you 🤔👍
@@RCsoandso Those ORV Chassis are fine for an occasional gentle run, but definitely need time/money thrown at them to have some real fun! I found the tamiya super stock rz 23 turn motor really pepped it up(28,000 rpm). The MIP ball differential ain't cheap, but is pretty bombproof and improved the handling. It has totally resolved the common issues of the gearbox plates warping, leading to the bevel gears jumping about and shredding and that awful clicking sound they are renowned for! I replaced the shocks with some aluminium dampers with some light oil from JKRC.... pretty reasonably priced and have made it a lot more stable/reduced body roll. I put a very small nut each side on the underneath of the chassis where the trailing arms compress to, this limits the travel of the rear arms enough to stop the dog bones from popping out when jumping etc. Hope this helps mate. Alternatively, sell the beetle and get another trusty lunchie! 🤣 😂 🤣 😂 👍 👍 👍 👍
@@yodadarksideGreenHawksRC crikey, all that would add up to the cost of a new Lunchbox! I think it could be worth pricing up though. Funnily enough I have just bought some aluminum dampers from JKRC for a project I am working on, far cheaper than any othe option I found!
Hi there and a great location for some Rc action, however, perhaps since the late 80’s financial institutions moving into industrial parks for there call centre locations, have now been updated, since the hah hum…..Covid-19….now those of us that worked in these types of locations, well, we’ve been moved back to our homes, with our trusty broadband connections, a laptop, a monitor and headset….sorry, I used to be an engineer out on the road, until two artificial hips later, meant a career change to insurance claims, then Covid-19 caused the revelation of home working since. 😊😊😊😊😊best wishes 😊😊😊
Yes I know what the ‘Home Office’ Life is like, the commute is a lot shorter. I think a lot of these places have been on the decline for years and with lockdowns they suffered the final nail. More places for RC fun though! 😂👍

0:41 IT Crowd reference!
Top marks👍

I used to love Mr Benn as a kid, the design is mapped out and as long as the Chief Engineer doesn’t get the shakes it should look good 🤔😂👍
Great video as always. The 80's rocked in neon colours, Miami vice style 🍻Look forward to the new paint job 👌
Yes I seem to remember having day-glow socks, for no other reason than it being the 80s 🧦🔌😂👍

It’s weird, it’s almost like it just wants to give up after 30 mins, I think something sinister is going on 🤔🕵️♂️😂👍
The monster beetle is definitely one of my favorites that I want to add to my collection.
Great video 👍
It’s got a great look and I think it’s one of the strongest designs that Tamiya have done 👍
I still like running my beetle and lunch box from time to time… it helps the enjoyment to do a little upgrade to get them hitting 20mph tho
Yes throwing these classics around can be fun, I might do some speed tests soon and see what chaos that will cause 😂🤣👍

@@RCsoandso Yupp, and he still believes in it. But he's kind of cool and who am I to change it🤪.
Relevant! Yes. Looks like a blast to rip about. ( I loved the IT crowd reference.. Don't break the internet!)
It is a great one to throw about, when it works. I think it’s the best representation of the internet 😂😆👍
cool rc and great run
It does run well when it wants to. I’m sure the new look will do it wonders 🤔👍

Good 'ol Hoff 🖤 Larsen Scanners for the win!
I heard someone made a Cylon toaster, that would be something to boast about at a cocktail party 🍸😂👍

Maybe liberate them from the cabinet and give them a glimpse of the sunshine. Mr Benn was ace! 👍
Still an awesome car
It is so recognisable, a real corner stone of Tamiya design 👍
😀I use hobbywing esc , never had any problems and waterproof Enjoyed
I’ve just used a Hobbywing in a project so it will be interesting to see how it gets on 🤔👍
Lately saw the video from a Japanese guy drive his 1:1 monster beetle.
Yes that looked awesome, need a big garage though 🤔😂👍

My guess is a bad receiver. Great video.
It might be as most of the electrics have been changed 🤔 Thank you for watching, it’s very much appreciated 👍
