    I just fixed my door handle yesterday as the little threaded rod that connects to the latch had fallen off. I wish I would have found this video BEFORE I started that job!
    One thing you might want to add to help your viewers is that the threaded rod attached to the handle is only threaded on one side. The plastic coupler is held onto the threaded rod by a sliding plastic coupler that essentially ‘completes’ the capture of the threaded rod since internally it only has threads on one side. To remove that piece, you have to slide that coupler back to let the rod come out. Likewise, when reassembling, you have to push the sliding collar back down firmly. Otherwise, the rod will pop out after a few uses or even on the first time you open the door!

    Thank you for showing 2:56 - that little clip had popped off in cold weather and I had to get my big mitts in there. The brass piece pops down from the top and the black piece slides up to close it. Really tight in there ❤ 🇬🇧

      Got new parts today $5 eBay to repair the broken parts. Went smooth and key works perfectly, UNTIL I installed it on the car with handle. Key will NOT spin. I’m stumped. Removed and tested. Works perfect. Maybe the door lock mechanism won’t let it spin and it’s locked. Sucks.

    Thanks for the video!! I’m going to be wrapping mine next year, and so this is super helpful. Do you have a video on how to remove and replace the badges and lettering? That’s the other part that I’m curious about, since I’ll have to remove it all when I do the wrap. Thanks in advance!

    Hi. My driver’s door window drops when opening the door but then goes back up whilst the door is open and you let go of the door handle.
    It’s not the handle micro switch. Seems to be the door catch, which I’ve lubricated but the problem persists.
    Can you help please?

    While on the topic of door handles...Have you had any issues with the window not coming down quick enough to clear the top/frame and sticking/catching and popping? Thanks for the video!

    • @HelpMeDIY
      @HelpMeDIY  3 года назад +1

      +Jacob L. I haven’t really, but I think part of it is getting in the habit of lifting the handle, waiting a second, then opening the door. With any car like this you have to have a little patience :)
