    So refreshing to hear someone enjoy the massive world. I just began playing my 3rd playthrough after about a year break and love gigantic games, there's just so much to do. I'm sick of watching reviews where whiners complain about a game being too large. Listen, if want to do reviews and create content then sure, you'll have to move on to other games, but if you're someone like me who doesn't buy every single game out there then you'll want your games to be large to get your money's worth and enjoy the ones you do buy by not blowing through them in 15 hours.

      Valhalla gets ALOT of hate as it isn't like the original Assassin's Creed games. It is however a great RPG with some Assassin's Creed elements, and I love it! I've put over 400 hours into this game, but only like 15 in Battlefield 2042 and COD. Well worth it!

    Just 2 small critiques: It is a waste to build the Stables in your settlement. There's one in Repton & if you follow your brother North as your 1st mission, you get all Horse's skills from there. The 3 st buildings should be: 1) Blacksmith (mandatory anyway) 2) Barracks, so you can get warriors to do raids from the start 3) Assassin's house, so you can get started with assassinating members of the Order.
    I find it easier to finish Norway before getting to England as you're higher level from the start & you can kill the Drengr (Erik Loyalskull) in Norway to get the 2nd best spear in the game: Fafnir’s Fang before going to England. He's high level and hard to beat, so keep him for last, right before leaving Norway.

    • @IronsideGeorge
      @IronsideGeorge  Год назад +1

      You know it’s actually really funny you say that because I initially did have that tip in the video, but in the end decided not to pop it in there as the sentence flowed better. Should have mentioned the barracks though - so much information to get in it slipped the net! ✌️
      Fafnirs Fang was one of the first weapons i found but I was too impatient to get to England before exploring all of Norway 😛

    You can turn the assassination so you kill them in one blow. In the settings, Some may see it as cheating but its not it's what the games about. Plus if you stab someone in right place like they would die anyway which you do stab them in those points but it's not a.instant death. So turn it off so it is.

    Good tips in general. I used to think that double spears are the best. Actually, there are other options much stronger for other playstyles. If instead of parry, you like to dodge...just equipe 2 daggers and watch for yourself what happens....I've bought a couple of spears at the store and got the otthers of the game...and just out of being bored, tried double daggers. There is nothing to compare. YOU JUST STAB THE HELL OUT OF PARALISED ENEMIES. The damage output and frequency of attacks is just out of this world. But use Yngling Seax as main weapon and Kopis at the other and Mentor Set and viper bow. It's just 3 x times stronger than double spears IF you like to dodge. Weight around 50 make you able to perform 8 dodges in a roll even. IF you like parry, double spears and you don't need to move that much, specially for L, L, H combo or parry -> H and it's stronger than double daggers. Again, depends on playstyle, this game is balanced and there are many playstyles, much more than Odyssey. Funny thing, I wasn't going to play valhalla because of people in general taling bad about the combat system...it's amazing how people can say dumb shit, valhalla combat system is awesome. Balanced, diversified, there are many strategies, the pace is optimal (at least for me, as games are different to every different person who plays it). I love Odyssey, but truth be told, if you just equip a bighorn bow, or just use the +200% all damages ostraka, or anything like that, and the game is broken at level 15. Not in Valhalla. There are people using double shields in this game! I think that is cool.

    • @IronsideGeorge
      @IronsideGeorge  Год назад +1

      Thanks dude! I’d still say dual spears are top tier, but you’re right about the combat it’s really diverse. You’d should try a bearded axe in the right hand and a short sword in the left, makes for a really fun combo. I have used double shields before, it’s not the easiest! 😂

    Valhalla and Odyssey are 2 best AC games, idk what anyone says. You just need to stop taking it as an AC game and completely forget bout assassins. They are amazing historical fantasy games, easily can compete with games like Witcher or Skyrim

    • @IronsideGeorge
      @IronsideGeorge  Год назад +1

The only thing I wish they’d do different is get rid of the whole animus junk, it’d be awesome just to focus on the hidden ones and just play as their story arc while in the fraternity. I don’t care about any of the out of the animus characters or what they’re doin lol. I just want historical badasses in cool era’s of time.

    To add to the charisma there is at least one world event that requires you to be at least level 2 it's a short quest you will definitely come across since in the main story when trying to find a rat who betrayed one of the people you are to make an alliance with I won't go into many details because spoilers but when you investigate the longhouse tunnel and follow the yellow paint there will be a farmer with a rat problem kinda funny while looking for a rat you find more rats lol but you just have to talk to a cat lady nearby who will have one dialog option and is locked behind level 2 charisma. Haven't seen any other cases where you require a charisma level but I assume if there is one there will be another with a higher skill requirement

  • @dazdavis7896

    Brush with death and heavy dual wield. Most important skills to get, especially the first one, so go for those if you’re new…. And, spears are really not “by far the strongest weapons”.. great swords do a lot more damage than spears. Dual great swords, like the Excalibur with the Surtr sword with all critical runes absolutely annihilates. Dual 1H swords wrecks too. The katanas are great. Multiple others. It has the best special attack out of any of the weapons. Just equip 2 1H swords and hold R1 and watch the bodies drop. Also, yes, the helix store items are worth it. But either way, go after the Thegn suit as early as possible. By far the best suit in the game early on. It’s one of the best suits in the game period let alone at the beginning.

    If you're like me and got the ultimate/gold edition. Start the Ireland dlc ~lvl 55 or as soon possible.
    You get to start your own trading station which collects resources passively over time which can be sold for silver. This helps massively as silver is very hard to come by early on.
    Get the skills Idunn's Heart & Grit asap. They make your Eivor extremely hard to kill and you can tank the freezing waters of Norway without fear of dying.
    Spend the free 300 helix credits on the small resources pack and upgrade your rations or gear for early boost.
    Go with the flow storywise since it'll take you to various places. I explored first only for the game to send me to places I already cleared thus wasting time.
    Mop up afterwards places still unexplored and have fun 😁

    From a new player:
    1. "idyllic" doesn't mean "frozen hell" and Norway was done in like 1 and a half hours if you're following the story
    2. upgrading buildings costs a lot of resources and I'm not sure how to get them
    3. the skill tree is just the Sphere Grid from FFX with a Norse coat of paint
    4. I just stick with the axe I started with because I understand the timing
    5. Parrying is easier than in DS or TW3 but I don't think it's as essential as you say
    6. Flyting was a real thing and predates slam poetry and freestyle rapping by a millenium and is definitely not a combination of the two.
    7. Raiding is necessary in game but it's the most polite correct viking raid ever. I laughed my ass off at "killing civilians will cause desynchronization" (whatever that means). Definitely takes you out of the game if you've ever looked at a history book (to say nothing of the silly haircuts and armor).
    8. I've made it like 30 hours in and haven't upgraded my rations. I still have 1.
    9. No argument.
    10. Stamina is restored by light attacks. Might be worth mentioning that.

    5:02 or just so happen to have been born in a non English speaking country (The overwhelming majority)!
    Context: I was born and live in a country where English isn't the 1st language, luckily through watching movies and (Obviously) playing games, not only did I learn it, as I can pretty much "pick up my end of the couch" in a regular conversation, however I barely managed to get the timing down when flyting, mechanics that rely on people being relatively well versed in a specific language, are usually a problem most people tend not to worry about, for the simple fact that they don't need to!

      Yo dude - it was a tongue in cheek comment. I’d suggest though, and you can do this in the options, to change the language to whatever you fancy. @@user-xt2rb3no5b If you already bought it, I think the best you can do is to play it and say it by yourself, I just think that the Witcher 3 is a much better game, and I say it because this one is clearly trying to implement many things that worked for the Witcher 3, but they can't match the writing and the world building, the characters back story, as someone who was hoping to play something that could match that (because that's what they were clearly trying to do) I was disappointed, but maybe if you play it with different expectations you might enjoy it

      @@felipemotorhead thanks for replying. The Witcher 3 is a really good game. I didn't realize Ubisoft was trying to mimic it and definitely agree that they wouldn't be able to write a story at that level.
      I mainly got it because I was interested in the Viking aspect of it. It looked great visually and was on sale. Not a huge gamer and figured it would be entertaining for a while. I guess if there isn't anything to specifically avoid I'll just drive in and go from there. Hopefully it's not as bad as people have said it is. Didn't even look up reviews until after purchasing.
