It would be great to see more of your EQ8 videos showing us how to use multiple panels on a quilt. How to layout multiple size blocks. You are a wonderful teacher, thank you for all you do!
This was so easy to follow along. I was glued to the screen watching this.I have EQ8 and really never have used it. Now I will.Thank you for opening my eyes to this program. Hello from Houston,Tx
Hi Debbe! You can find free online support with articles, lessons, and videos to help you with your EQ8: support.electricquilt.com/products/electric-quilt-8/
Your videos are very informative and encompassing. I was looking for a video that would explain the layout of EQ8, and this beginning video did a great job of that. Thank you.
I want to do the Storm at Sea quilt but with 8" blocks, also I have the accuquilt system so I have all I need for cutting,,,,my problem is designing it I have the fabrics, but need to see how my fabrics will worlk together,,,and could you tell me if the eq 8 has the template for designing this quilt? i don't want to sound stingy, but if they have that quilt design i will purchase the program, but if not i wont waste my funds,,, thanks,,,,you make everything so simple,,,
Just so you know, they already have the entire quilt Storm at Sea layout and you can just add the fabrics. You can make the blocks any size that suits you especially if you have the AccuQuilt System They are now making more blocks that will work with the Accuquilt. It really is a fun software. You would not be disappointed. You can also make your own blocks using the sizes from any of your Accuquilt blocks
#SewVeryEasy I design quilt blocks and am not a great quilter, is this software something for me to design from start to finish or is this something using existing blocks and just changing the pieces around?
Oh wow! I love this software! You did an excellent job at showing how it works too. The only thing I wasn't wild about is that you don't receive a disc or the books when you buy the software. I think they should be included automatically. That's like buying Patterns. You often have a choice between paper or download. Obviously when you choose paper you receive the pattern in the mail. I prefer hard copies of my software if at all possible. Thank you for an amazing tutorial! 🙂
I do understand as I am a paper person, but I was very happy to find that I was able to redownload it when my computer crashed just by going back online. and I love not having to take my books with me when I travel. :)
The manual is all right there under help. You just type in what you are looking for and it takes you right to the answer. No hard copy books needed. Just save the entire PDF on your computer and you can get to it anywhere at anytime.
Oh WOW!! I have EQ7 and sometimes have difficulty navigating around it - but this version looks very user friendly!! Is there a discounted price if you’re upgrading vs buying it for the first time? Also, does it transfer over your saved blocks/quilts to the newer version?
Hi KCQuilting! Yes, you can upgrade to EQ8 for a reduced price: electricquilt.com/online-shop/upgrade-from-eq7-to-eq8/ Our goal was to make EQ8 the most user-friendly version. Any projects you've created in EQ7 can be opened in EQ8.
I've had Electric Quilt for quite a few years. I love it for designing quilts or designing quilt blocks. It is very helpful. There is so much more to learn but I am happy with what I can do. Good job introducing this great tool!
when you design a quilt with electric quilt does it give you fabric requirements and block piecing instructions recommendations when you design a quilt
@@jehnamartinez906 Yes, it will tell you how much of each fabric that you need for the whole quilt or you can choose a block and get the fabric needed for that. No, it does not tell you how to piece a block.
Wow, this is something I will have to look into getting. Does the program have pre loaded fabric choices or are you able to upload and use your actual fabric choices? Thank you for another informative video!
EQ8 needs an OSX operating system. An iPad uses iOS, so it will not run EQ8. Here are the system requirements: electricquilt.com/online-shop/electric-quilt-8/#tab-System%20Requirements
EQ Mini is 89.95. I don't know if that helps. It's a "scaled down" version, with a block library of 300 and it's more user friendly. I have never used either, so I am not speaking from experience, just what the website says.
I find this program interesting and useful, but your hands in front of the computer screen is very distracting and blocks viewing the entire screen, using the mouse arrow would work better.

LOVE your tutorials! I have EQ5 and played with it way too much. EQ8 looks so much better, seems to be more user friendly.
This tutorial was very enlightening. Thank you!
I am tempted to buy this...

Is there a program that shows what Go! dies to use? Love, love, love your videos!
You can make any block to the size of your Acccuquilt System
Laura,
I would like to use this program to design single block patterns for a barn quilt. Can I work on just one block, color it, and save it?
Quilters dream very nice 💕
that shore seems like a good bit of kit to have at your disposal.
Does this program include quilting stitch designs, like swirls, pebbling, paisley designs?
This video was great! I’m thinking of purchasing. How do you get the hard copy of the reference manual?
I bought block base but how do I pull the blocks into q8. It seems like it’s separate and I don’t know how to pull the blocks over

Yes, a huge discount if you already have EQ7.
Thanks for spending my money!
lol sorry, but you are going to love it....:)
I love the black and white quilt you made using EQ8. I want to sign up for the give away but not sure how?

all the above! it has a preloaded fabric gallery, you can add new fabric lines and you can scan and add your own fabric :)
Can you get EQ8 for an IPad or do you need a computer?
It for the computer (pc or mac)only.
EQ8 needs an OSX operating system. An iPad uses iOS, so it will not run EQ8. Here are the system requirements: electricquilt.com/online-shop/electric-quilt-8/#tab-System%20Requirements
It looks like the price is $239. that's a huge price, and not within my budget. I might have asked for it as a birthday present if it was $20.

It helps, but there are still a bunch of things ahead of it on my list of things to buy. Thanks for the information though.
