Try “Combine Down” instead of “Merge Down” to put the two elements together. It makes kind of a folder that holds both layers together. So, when you move one, the other moves too. but they remain independent and editable. You can also drag even more layers into the folder. Great way to preserve your work without merging. 😄
This is a wonderful tutorial, and I thank you so much. You’re a wonderful quilter, a fantastic teacher, and incredibly considerate person. Thanks for helping all of us.
Hi, after a week of visiting the grandkids, repairs to our pickup truck and getting the flu, I'm finally starting to feel like myself again. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead! Thank you for this video!
Thank you! I got Procreate years ago but haven’t used it, so one of my goals is to learn how, AND I’m a quilter, so just for fun I searched for “Procreate and quilting”and your wonderful video turned up! Thank you for the step by step tutorial and the inspiration
❤ OMGOSH, this video is AMAZING! I just got a new iPad with the pencil so I can play with Procreate for quilt designing and your excellent tutorial has mega-inspired me, so THANK YOU!!! 💗🙌🏼
This is the video I've been waiting for! My iPad is 10 years old so it might be time for a new one, but I have been wanting an app that I could use to draw out quilt designs. Thanks so much for a great intro video to explain how to use Procreate!
Thank you so much for these tips. I have had my iPad Pro for 2 years and added Procreate almost immediately when I first got it. I didn’t know half the stuff you showed. I would love another video like this showing us how to do quilting things. The other videos I have watched were mostly from artists and I couldn’t translate those techniques into usable options for quilting related tasks.
Megan, you are one of my favorite You Tube quilters. You are so generous and thoughtful with what you share. I don’t even have an iPad but I watched and got really good tips for use with other programs that I have. That makes you a great educator! You are on my “must watch” list. Thanks so much.
I just found you. And what has become my usual procedure, I have been binge watching your videos from the beginning. They are great! And so useful!! I haven't been able to quilt for several years. When I was quilting before, all I would attempt was quilt-in-the-ditch or cross-hatch. As a result, I have many ufo's. You have given me the confidence to try fmq because you show patterns even I think I can do. I only have a domestic machine, but you show how to adapt your designs. I can't wait to start sewing again. Thank you as much for your encouragement and instruction. Please don't stop. God bless.
THANK YOU! I am so excited for this video! My iPad is far from new and I don't have a pen but I am going to give it a try now and see what I can figure out. I appreciate you explaining some things to get me started and playing around with it.
Wow I am super excited to give this a try! I am new to procreate so I am still learning and would love to learn more..please do more videos on creating this way!
Mind. Blown! My current iPad has some scratches/nicks in the screen which make it not so fun to use an apple pencil. It's also *way* old (first gen iPad Pro). I've been thinking about getting a new one, but worried I wouldn't use it. After seeing this...I can see SO much value in using that device! Maybe I'll upgrade after all! Do you use Procreate to design piecing, too? I'd love to see a tutorial on how you design your quilt tops!
I'm going to take a look at this program. I currently use Sketches on my iPad with long arm customers to audition quilting, but this seems a little more intuitive. Thanks for the video!
I love watching all the creativity and capabilities that some tools,, like a tablet can offer to a quilter. However, unfortunately, I don't see an opportunity in which I will ever be able to ever afford any type of tablet 😕. I only recently was able to get a new laptop courtesy of my Mother and it was on sale of $300.
can you tell me what your "set up" using procreate is? which ipad / pen / how many GB do I need if all I am using it for is quilting any other additions?
Hi ty for sharing! I've been using procreate in the last week to practice free motion feathers is there a way to not get the prefect shape I hold the pen down and it goes to the prefect shape I don't want it then.

This was amazing. I felt very overwhelmed by the app, but now I feel ready to get started. Thank you so much!

I love these little tips. Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to do some longarm quilting

I’m so happy to see you and learn for me it’s wonderful because all we hear here in Europe is the war and we are all stressed. Thank you
Wow I could grab a dashed brush to simulate seams! Can't wait to try this in conjunction with EQ8!!!

Great info on creating a quilting stencil for quilting. Thank you.

Great video simple and to the point just what I was looking for to make my barn quilt template
Thank you so much for this video! Exactly what I needed to help me with designs!

Megan, this was so helpful. Thank you
I could not figure procreate out. Thank you for this video.
This is so cool! I can share this with my daughter so she can help me design a quilting pattern for her college graduation quilt.
Thank you for another great tutorial! As a newbie to freemotion quilting on my own this is perfect and doesn't seem too challenging technically!!👍
Thanks!
This is wonderful! Thank you for sharing❤️
Great tutorial. Thanks
I've been using procreate for awhile, it's so helpful 💜
Thank you so much!
More of these tutorials with Procreate! Maybe to design a simple appliqué with shapes! Please.
Interesting will investigate app.
Looks like a great tool. Any good recommendations for a similar app on android?

What type of screen protector do you recommend? Is it a “paper” screen protector?
Is there a way to import photos of fabric into palettes so that you can drag and drop into the shapes?
How much is this app subscription? Any in-app purchases?
Can I download to my android tablet
What if I want to do this on a tablet? Is it possible?
which stylus do you use? I only plan on using procreate for what you demonstrate not for digital artwork.
I use the Apple Pencil 2. I tried a few other stylus but nothing works quite like the pencil.

just click the undo button and it'll go from the "perfect shape" back to your original linework :)
