- Today I give my opinion on if installing caliper covers is cheesy. I purchased the CCI Caliper covers but never installed them. Are caliper covers a cheesy mod or is this mod a good alternative to get that performance brake look? Are caliper covers considered fake brakes? Not a fan of the covers....I had mine painted, was $700 to get it done plus they installed ceramic pads for me at no cost so no more brake dust!
I’m definitely going the paint route. I’m going to use the G2 kit. From what I’ve seen that paint is really high quality and pops

They are cheesy if you make them look like a branded big brake kit, but the idea of them isn't cheesy, as they can also help you protect your brake calipers, by preventing water and dirt from getting into them.
Yes, they are cheesy but if you like it, that’s fine but I like the way you’re going now painting them I have seen that set on cars and it is the best looking set 😊😊🇺🇸🇺🇸

Those caliper covers are hella cheesy my dude. Glad you're not going that route. They will fit a Charger, a 300, & a Magnum. 👍🏼
As for the G2 Caliper Paint, that's great stuff! With the right prep work, it'll look hella nice! 😉 Without the prep, & without letting it dry properly, it's not gonna look very good at all. Big issue is that brake fluid will take it off before it fully dries. When I used it on my previous car, I ended up doing a 2nd coat a few months later. I would highly recommend getting brand new calipers, & painting them instead of trying to paint your originals. It'll look way better if you do.
In all honesty though, it'd be better if you went with an aftermarket brake kit. Like something from Baer, Wildwood, or R1 Concepts. You'd get better performing brakes, with better stopping power & heat dissipation. Plus they come in numerous colors to choose from. ✌🏼
Lastly, you need to return that Walmart jack. It won't lift your car high enough to get under it. Plus your car weighs more than 2 tons, so you'd really be stressing that jack.
