    There are the 'purists" who have a big hate for the use of capos. I've never understood it. Just because a song was recorded in "A" does not mean that this is your singing range. But more importantly, some progressions have you on and off barre chords quickly. While you'd love to learn to do that smoothly, throwing on a capo and NOT doing that makes the song much more accessible. Keep working on the barre chords, of course, but if a capo makes your guitar experience better then go for it. BTW: Glen Campbell was one of the greatest guitar players who ever strapped on a guitar. He once said "I am king of the capo". If it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me.

    Hi Lauren, thanks for your great video's! Very helpful for me as a beginner. A question: if the capo brings the guitar out of tune do you have to take the capo off to get in tune again or can you re-tune with the capo still on? I mean; do the strings glide/slide under the capo or will they stick?
    By the way: would you be so kind to play Mother Goose from Jethro Tull's Aqualung? A great song to play with the capo on I guess. Thanks!

    • @LaurenBateman
      @LaurenBateman  3 года назад

      I retune with the capo on the guitar. If remove it and retune it, the same issue will happen. Jethro Tull huh? Don't think I've done any of that music.

    • @LiamEserda
      @LiamEserda 3 года назад

      @@LaurenBateman thanks again for your answer. Ok clear!, capo on when retuning. Jethro Tull of course not everyone's cup of tea.
      I'm a huge fan of the Beatles too. Some idiots who are planning to buy and play guitar say: "I will begin with some Beatle songs, just a couple of some easy chords." Whahaha; let them play the intro of: "I feel fine." That's tough, those barre chords! And stretching your pinkie. And for instance the strumming on "All my loving". Have you done a video on these songs? If not: could you please do that? The Beatles were great pioneers in music, they will never be forgotten and their songs will live on forever! Loved your "Norwegian wood" and "Come together". Kind regards, love your tutorials!

It looks like the fingerboard is separating from the neck, and you people must have recently re glued the fingerboard, so you're using this ugly freakin' thing to clamp the fingerboard while the glue dries. And you can't wait for the glue to dry, so you play the guitar anyway. LoL! And I'll call ANYBODY'S bluff on your excuses for using it too.
