    Well presented Steve. I have been playing guitar for over 50 years and the advantages of using a capo and different types are unlimited. Some of the most sophisticated playing in history was influenced by or done with a capo for amazing dramatic affect. Slides, bars, toothpicks, rubber bands, combs, hair barrettes, chopsticks, sea shells, river rocks, old sticks in the woods, toilet paper rolls, beer cans, and anything imaginable is a form of capo and all used for different sound experiences. Creativity and expression are what music is all about.
    Thank you for sharing your thoughts, talents, and experience. I share and recommend your videos to all the people I know that want to learn or improve their guitar skills because you have a well thought out program for any level musician. Of course I share tips and advice, but I really appreciate the resources you provide.

    Another great use for a capo is when you have a second or third guitarist who wants to play a different voicing to the same chords.

    That was really helpful, I can use that. Hope these two blokes are surviving the Lockdown with a full gig list diary and no sniffles. I womder why he used a dreadnought, as opposed to a 000? That (D-28 maybe?) cannon is huge. 🙂

      Awesome, Tadpole! Yep, I think that's a D-28 Steve's using. :-)

    Hi steve Can a capo work on electric or just strictly acoustic

  • @JenniRenee
    @JenniRenee 10 месяцев назад

    So if for example it’s in the key of f# you would put the capo on the open f# fret? I hope that makes sense 😅

    • @stinemusiclessons
      @stinemusiclessons  10 месяцев назад +1

      hmmm let's see if this helps. When you play an open E chord 022100 and you put your capo on fret 2 (which is the note f#) the chord is now an F#. Imagine playing a 6th string barre chord starting on fret 2 (again f#), your first finger is acting as a capo and the other fingers are making the E shape.
