Another good tip would be to determine where that light penatration in the water column is,would be to look at what depth the vegatation stops growing at. Plants need light to grow.😉
I like mudlines also. Where the muddier water meets clearer water. It can be a key area no matter the depth. Bass can hide in the muddier water from the baitfish in the clearer water.
Got to use my new core tackle swim jigs today. The action is fantastic on them, especially with that deal trailer. Are you all planning on making a 1/2 oz version with a more stout hook? I fish a lot of standing timber with giant bass and I worry the hook isn’t ideal for that scenario. Keep up the great work!
It seems to me that the light dispersal depth is at least twice the depth at which you can no longer see your bait from the surface. For you to see the bait the light had to travel from the surface to the bait and then back to the surface, hence twice the distance. The light to the fish doesn’t have to make the round trip. Also consider that the fish eyes are more sensitive to light. Have you ever snorkeled in the lake? Try it and you will see (no pun intended) that there is light deeper than the depth at which your bait disappears when viewed from the surface.
And I use that tip with spinnerbait fishing. Fish them at the dept they disappear from your sight. It’s accounted for idk numbers of more fish over the years that I caught that otherwise I wouldn’t have.
This is what I notice watching most bank beating bass fishermen. The amount of time that their presentations spend in the strike zone is atrocious. They are wasting alot of time and only have their lures in the strike zone for a couple seconds per cast. Not going to catch much like that.
Thanks, Matt!! Appreciate the insight on light…key to fish reactions!!!
Any time!
A solid one, really helps appreciate the mid water column presentation. Great work as always Matt
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you. Now I understand the mid water depth of shad balls better.
You bet!
So the bottom, the top and everything between. Great insight 😂
Haha
I love ledge fishing when TVA is generating power. All about current. Great video Matt
Couldn't agree more!

They call it the outside weed line

I agree with what you are saying but what my experience says is the depth at which you can no longer see it is a key strike zone
Ambush light .Thanks Matt .
You're welcome!
This makes perfect sense!
Thanks
Good tips Matt
Glad you think so!

I have a question. You say you build your own rod. Do you build rod for other people. I need a good chatterbait rod.
I don’t but you can buy my signature rod build kit for chatterbaits from Mudhole.com CB907 kit
are we talking like seeing in the water with or with out glasses ?
Glasses
You keep giving good advice like that and someday yur gona go pro 😂😂
Maybe one day haha
I thought he was going to say 'thermocline' as the 3rd, but not the light dispersion area
Yes the Thermocline is definitely a very important key!
Thermocline is very important as well
@@MattStefanFishing That’s why angling is so enjoying. Things are always evolving & fish adapt as well. Mother Nature looks after her children 😊
Great content as always but a bit sad to realize that the scrrens tells you were they are without all the knowldege you posess. But keep em comming!
