EU Schiithead here too. Very happy we have an EU shop but the pricing man. One of the perks of Schiit is that they're very competitive priced, but that's US pricing, here in EU they're actually overpriced. almost €700,- for a Modius/Midgard stack
Also you need to just work in the cost of shipping into the gear or at least at certain price barriers. It’s a bigger deference than you think especially as it’s impossible to audition your stuff
Jason: Know the history of audio is full of tired engineers and designers who thought they might be crazy or people thought they were. We still speak their names today and some of their companies. Twenty years from now, people will remember Schiit and the people behind it.
Company leaders could all take a Paige from Jason's book. As a fan and a customer, I alway's feel like he is telling me everything he can without setting me up for disappointment. He also appears to balance challenging and protecting his employees simultaneously.
Great wrap up. I currently have a Gumby MB / Jot2 and a Bifrost 2/64 MB / Jot2 setup. Gumby 2 is tempting- always hard to talk myself into it when I don’t know what will be better or different. Same with Mjolinir 3.
Do you anticipate any hifi magazine or RUclips reviews of the Gungnir 2 soon? I’ve seen the Super Best Audio Friends one and one on Head-Fi, but would love to see something from The Absolute Sound (seem to have liked Schiit in the past), Stereophile (also seem to have liked Schiit), Old Guy HiFi (always talks about how much he likes his old updated Bifrost), Scientific Audiophile (snarky like Schiit), etc. Trying to decide whether I want to bite the bullet and spend more for a DAC than I’d hoped to and get the Gungnir 2 or wait on hopeful updates to the Bifrost with Unison 384, Multiform, and Forkbeard later in 2025. More reviewer takes would help with that decision.
@@GD710ASt I pre-ordered my Wotan a few hours after I happened to see it on the website (I got serial # 19). The website says that it weighs 54 pounds, but UPS said that it boxed up weighed under 45 pounds. My son-in-law wondered if the left something out, like the fire-suppression system 🙂
@@judmcc #19, wow, good luck with the repair. I’ll be keeping an eye on the Wotan for a possible upgrade down the road. I have an Aegir 2 now. While I like the schiit version of class A, I would like a more power for my speakers. Also have a skoll, kara, and bifrost 2/64. I love schiit products and what the company stands for
It would be great if a Laiv direct sales model could be adopted - I would jump onboard with Schiit really quickly, but import duties are a pain and once accounted for mean Schiit loose the value proposition a bit.
I think yall need to pull the Skoll and give all the owners some credit to whatever replaces it. For many your phono is what got us into your gear.. making one that’s been very notoriously filled with issues isn’t great
I think that if you don’t want to do “Speakers” then you should work on some level with Chesky Audio! $995 for a pair of American Made Speakers not as big as Maggie LRS+ needs these!!
I do not want to see rekkr going away after I suggested Schiit make magni sized speaker amp years ago. I just purchased one and would like to see its support and development continue in its form factor. Otherwise you would have nothing to complete the desktop stack.
@@mitchy5994 but then he goes on saying that if they ever think about making a streamer it's going to be expensive. I was thinking just a schiit streamer as I already have a Bifrost DAC

Big fan of Jason & the Schiit products. The elephant in the room is, are the Schiit products going to go UP in costs from all these NEW asinine Trump Tariffs? Hope these new Trump Tariffs don't screw over US businesses having to pay more for Parts etc....
Please make EU shop fully stocked.. Shiithead from across the pond.

Thank you for all the Schiit! Keep on Schiiting. And for the record, I love my Rekkr!
I personally would love to see another take on Sol and I'd sell my Rega in a heartbeat if you guys did that.

Love my original Vidar and Sys!
One thing I retained at the end of the wrap-up … Valhalla 3 in Jan 😅
Not much infos on it do you know more?
Superb discussions ! A genius ! :) I recall years ago that Jason did not want to be in the software development business... !!!
If using two Gjallarhorn in mono will both need to be FB or is one with FB enough? Thanks! 🎵
My Wotan blew up and caught fire 2-3 days ago. It is on its way back to you for repair. It was great until it caught fire.
Holy Schiit, I wonder if that’s a potentially widespread issue with the Wotan. Would love to see some reviews of this thing
@@GD710ASt Jason did mention Wotan's blowing up early on. I had mine about 14 days when this happened (maybe caused by a short circuit).

@@GD710ASt My speakers are inefficient, and they say a max of 200 watts, so the Wotan seems like a perfect fit.
Why not do a project with the “NEW WESTERN ELECTRIC” in GA? If you would tell them we will buy ??? Maybe they could give you a fair price…?

Hello guys thanks for the shit products love them
Jason seems like he's aging backwards! 🤓
Is a deb app made using Debian?
I’m happy you navigated through 2024. As a joke…people ARE everything you can imagine but im sure you know that…
Did someone say something about fork-beard? 😄
Schiit streamer anytime soon?
Yes, need that streamer.
He said not on the plans for a long time, because he can't think of anything he can do that others already aren't doing.

Your name says it all. People with TDS suffer from Tariffs Syndrome.
They should not as the vast majority of parts in their components are USA sourced: Woot!
Yes but not cuz of tariffs. Im glad i got a vidar 2 when i did… asking an app to it made them raise the price and im not sure who asked for that
Of course costs will go up. Retaliatory tariffs will be imposed and parts WILL go up. Tariffs hurt every consumer.
