This is pure genius! We're building a John Suscovich tractor and I used your idea to mount the wheels about 2/3 from the front. I'm 64yrs and I can pull it around with one hand now. It was so simple and easy to add on. Thanks so much for sharing.
I like your idea. I am not elderly, elderly, (62), but I am disabled. I only have one leg, so picking up heavy things and keeping my balance is a little tough at times. I will definitely use your system when I put together a chicken tractor for myself. I am wanting to keep 4 to 8 hens for eggs, so the idea of a nesting box on the end would be fantastic.
Thanks for the video brother. It is much appreciated this way. Just got done building our children tractor and was looking for wheel ideas. Glad you shared your brilliance. Big thanks from North Carolina.👍🏽👍🏽
It looks good and functional but since you were keying in on the elderly I have a suggestion. Make the "front wheels" to pivot or swivel so that it can be steered without having to drag it sideways. Probably easier said than done with those kind of wheels but it would a good feature for people who are slowing down.
Great concept. Super easy to push. A lot of other tractors are clunky and take effort to pull or drag. I have a tractor I have made that is 6ft by 8ft. This just might be the thing. Thanks for sharing.
I love this design......... brilliant !!! I am going to do that to mine. I think I may modify the front a little so I can steer it to make it easier to turn. Thanks
Please share your steering idea when you can. I move mine sideways now because it doesn’t roll. Made it out of hog panels and very tight wire. It’s been working and the fox is ever present.
im old too i like this cheap to build had to make some improvements on the bottom to put the wheels on but no biggy. washers and easy to move to put in my barn for winter... good job kiddo
Dude, that is brilliant!!! I have had to lift mine up to add and remove the wheels each time I move it. Going to change mine to your way, so much easier. Thanks
I like the design but I definitely don't like those harbor freight wheels. I built 7 moveable above ground garden beds with them but those wheels do not last more than a year at a time. At least in my climate in Northern California. I started switching out the wheels this year finally but I just had to get through my stash of harbor freight wheels. The first year I used those wheels I was disappointed that they got so weathered. That year which was 5 years ago, I would buy $100 worth of backup wheels since I was changing them every year. I'm slowly moving all the wheels to solid wheels but they are quite a bit more expensive. I appreciate you putting this video together and the design. Keep up the great content.
I’m looking for a quick consult on the math I might use to figure out board length / wheel placement. I saw the video with your dimensions but my existing coop is a bit longer.
Cool idea... Could ya give us the wheel plans with measurements??? I have a tractor i made out of an old truck topper, but its so heavy, thus I think would work. Ty for the great video , volume is aluttle Løw
@@mercyfarms7231 PLEASE DO! Really want to build my own! Would like to make it a little larger but need to know how much larger I could go w/o messing up the mobility of it. :D
IF YOU PUT A ROPE ON THE FRONT OURS EASILY SLIDES IN THE DIRECTION YOU ARE PULLING.YOU CAN ALSO MOVE WITH A RIDING MOWER IF NOT ON FLAT GROUND.THE MORE UNEVEN THE GROUND THE HIGHER YOUR WHEELS NEED TO RAISE.THANKS FOR WATCHING.
Hey, I'm implementing this wheel system for a Chicken Tractor. Thank you for putting it together. Quick question for you. Is there a way to integrate a steering mechanism? My Chicken Tractor is 4x16. I need to drag it around the yard and it would be great to see one end or the other actually turn to make it easier to avoid yard obstacles? Maby a front end of an old lawnmower? I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks
Put one wheel perpendicular to the others on the front of the box . Push or pull the nose to the side with that wheel engaged (set up as a 3 wheeler for this maneuver with the sideways wheel fixed for adjusting nose angle. Worth a try? I’m trying this on mine this week. I’m in flat ground though.
I was thinking of an old two wheeled dolly. Remove or adapt the lifting plate, drill an oversized hole into it and put a gate hinge pin on the chicken tractor. Then all you have to do is hook the plate onto the pin and let the wheels on the dolly lever it up.
You wouldn’t be able to make it turn with the tires fixed in place. You would need an axle and a carriage pivot bolt in the middle. Someone else has a video of homemade radio flyer. Their idea is a little much, but cool idea.
I have a better wheel system I can raise or lower both sides at the same time at the front or back. I'm starting to post video's so it may be a couple weeks before I can show mine. .

I have to agree. Not only is this the best wheel system to move a chicken tractor, it's also easy to install. Thank you for the idea!
Perhaps the best I've seen yet. You have my vote for simplicity and cost effectiveness. 😁

This is the best solution for tractor wheels I've seen yet. I can't wait to upgrade mine.
Would love to see basic dimensions....supply list. What is the largest you could build and still move with ease?
Thanks for the video brother. It is much appreciated this way. Just got done building our children tractor and was looking for wheel ideas. Glad you shared your brilliance. Big thanks from North Carolina.👍🏽👍🏽
This was perfect for our set up. Seriously helpful. Even my 4 year old can do it.

Wow!! That's so simple, well thought out and a great solution!
Excellent idea. Best engineering for older folks especially.
THE BEST Chicken tractor wheel system anywhere!

Love it brother! Brother from the same father and a different mother. He is high and lifted up and the train of His robe fills the temple.
This is the best use of wheels on a chicken tractor. Roll Tide.

All chichen tractors wheel seen so far this is the best mechanism ever, thanks to you, love you.

Awesome setup! I'm putting this on mine ASAP. Thanks for sharing!
Just perfect. Thank you, brother!
Ill give this one a winner. I almost bought the one for $300.
I really like this but I’m wondering how to keep predators from going underneath?
That's a pretty awesome design.
Thanks
Nicely Built Brother,well done.Thumbs up🤠
Thanks

I like the wheel system Great work‼️
I love you builds and ideas. I wish you would do more. :)
Great setup! Definitely the best so far.
Best design I have ever seen!
Thanks.
@@mercyfarms7231 I love this tractor. I would like the plans for this design.
Do you have a video showing how to build the wheel lifts?
Simple effective and practical nice job
What a fabulous idea! Thankyou for sharing.
Nice! But you could get away with just two wheels if you find the balancing point.

Me too. How big are the wheels?
I will try to post a new video with this info in it in a few days..and thanks for watching

Did you see the wheel assembly video?
Love your Ultimate chicken tractor wheel system. Could I have the plans for 6 X 6 tractor and how you completed the wheel systems. God Bless
Please provide the wheel systems assembly plans.
That is slick!
Bud from the wheel bolt to the bolt on the back of the wood, what is the measurement? It looks to be about a foot.
Thank you for this video!
Yes 10- 12 inches we I'll be good.
Also check out wheel assembly video.thanls
This is genius, I think I’ll add this too my chick tractor
That looks awesome I have a 5x10 dog kennel I'm making a chicken tractor out of
I did my 2nd chicken tractor with a kennel. I had my brother weld a aluminum frame for it to sit on and put tin on top. 😊
Awesome! Thank you for showing this ❤
May God bless you sir 😌
Could I use wheels like that on a 12 x 16 ft trailer? And change the front wheels to a swivel type for steering? Enjoy your videos. Thanks
Thanks. This is amazing and genius!
What a great idea. I want to build one now.
I would love to know how to make one of these. I am not elderly yet, but it is coming. Thank you
Great design. How do you steer it? You don't always want to go in a straight line.
We put a wheels on casters on one, but ours wasn't that heavy you can easily pull the front over in the direction you want it to go
i put 2 swivel wheel in front i also got from harbor frieght
Thanks a lot! Great idea.
Love this simple idea
With 4 wheels is it still easy to steer?
Well done. Hope you can make more videos.
How do you turn it?
That is what I need to build I have about 60 chickens and I need to make movable coops for them
Hope all works out well for you!!
How long is the wood piece, like 2 foot, and how far in did u mount wheel , like 8 inches or so?
Great idea! How many chicken do you put inside this 6x6?
Hey sorry for delay, 3 hens 1roo. And move it at least 3 times a week
I would love to know how you did the wheels including the hardware used to lift and lower it.
Watch his other video it shows the assembly!
Great idea thanks glenn
Great video 👍‼️‼️
well done. Love it, thank you for sharing
What size bolt are you using?
Sub #504, lol. Fixing to watch. Edit: I like the ease of movement and the ease of adjusting to sit on ground. How is it to turn?

Gonna try this. Appreciate it!

Casters on one end?
Move two of the lift mechanisms to the front panel and put a caster on each of them and it should turn much easier.
