I didn't mean to sound like My life has been shattered, just changed radically. And this music takes me back to that time which now seems like so long ago. Divorce and all the BS that goes with it is tough, But it has been a blessing, not destructive. Imagine spending half of a twenty year marriage in misery. Putting on a fake smile on Sunday, and the rest of the week is termoil. Now we are both happy, It is still a bit of a sad note though.
This music takes me back. Back when I went to church, my kids were little and my marriage was still together. I have lost any trust I used to have in churches, my kids are grown up now and I'm divorced. Still love the music, it's been a long time since I've listened to any of it. After hearing that song I have a bit of an ache in my heart. I'm still a believer, and I have a wonderful girlfriend. I haven't been in a church in three years. Why am I sharing this shit here on you tube? Don't know.
One thing I can tell you is that you have to pray and let God guide you to a church. Anything can happen when God plans it. Maybe he can find one that's so much fun you'll get hooked. Maybe he'll find one for you that needs a shot in the arm and wants to use you to make it happen. Don't ever underestimate the power of God or what he can do for you in church. I know the churches you're talking about. They may be dead. But rest assured God is not. And he really loves you.
Thanks for the thought. I've never been happier in my life. As far as true followers...believers. Some of the most sincere thoughtful and loving Christians I've met have been outside of church. In fact, almost all of them. You'd be surprised how many God fearing believers you will met ina bar on a Saturday night, I'm not kidding.

I've been a member of about 5 churches over the last 25 years. Do you think I haven't prayed? Oh yeah I guess I don't have enough faith. I've heard it all.. What's the difference between praying and begging? If you have to keep praying for something that is such a basic "need". Then maybe after 25 years you figure out that you've spent a third of your life begging and waiting for something that doesn't exist. My problem is I refuse to be a part of the church cliques.
