So we have successfully setup this planted tank, it has been more than a week and the plants are grouping well and wild Guppies are also doing well
I used:
Organic Compost
White Gravel
Black Sand

I will suggest: cory's catfish are not good for these low tech compost aquarium . This fish can disturb tje substrate so the compost will come out. This cause water cloudiness and algae
