Angelo B. still, 3K people viewed this and not a single comment on how brilliantly the young man played this

i think this is overshadowed by Liu and Fialkowska's videos that presents his whole etude repertoire

the piece is just incredible but the end is a bit strange

I think the sudden ending almost leaves you open because it is supposed to mean it is the end of one revolution, however there will always be another one. Not many countries have one revolution, a revolution is not permanent.

@@moonwalkinmyers3431 I don't know if I'm crazy, but I hear the ending as C: IV iv Isus4 I. given the C major chords some bars before. obviously it could also be the V of F minor, but I hear C as the root, even with the descending line obviously saying C7 to F. I hear it as a I IV I. Anyone else hears it that way?

@@sebastianlionelmartinez6305 I am not the greatest when it comes to music theory (I am still learning) but you are probably right- the chord does not sound like it comes from nowhere, yet it still has tension or a feeling of incompleteness when listening to the whole piece

@@sebastianlionelmartinez6305 C is the root in the ending, and you are correct in that assertion. That iv is a borrowed chord from the parallel minor and the Isus4 usually functions as a subdominant due to the perfect fourth it has which makes it sound like a IV^6/4 that wants to resolve the fourth degree of the scale to the third degree found in a I

I agree the ending is strange, but this recording I’ve linked below does it very tastefully in my opinion, I think it works very well if executed properly!
