Your singing tone really touched my soul. Especially the Aeolian Harp, no. 7 and the middle section of the octave etude. Your performance of the etude in thirds was unique. The c sharp minor etude was an expression of someone or something that Chopin lost.
Stunning interpretations of these fine Études! Love the short improvisatory introductions to each one; really created a unique and refreshing listening experience. And what a wonderful full tone from that restored vintage Steinway.
What a breath of fresh air to hear the manner in which these interpretations harken back to late 19th/early 20th century performance practices of allowing the individuality of the performer to beam forth, especially with the tempo nuancing, relatively light pedal, singing melody and short improvisations between movements. Also, what a fantastic sounding piano! Looks to be from the 1880's?? Just magnificent. I'll be returning to these performances many times, for certain.

Such beautiful tone and interpretation. I am mesmerized! Thank you, Ms. Penneys, for sharing this with us. I feel incredibly fortunate to be one of your students ❤ 😊
Bravo, Rebecca! Stupendous playing, so elegant, full of grace, ease, and the right Chopinesque touch and phrasing. Oh, and I love the modulatory bridges between the études, making them all interconnected! Wow and bravo❣️ 👏👏
I was glued to my screen and utterly mesmerized. Your command of the playing apparatus, the wonderful Steinway, your aural awareness, these incredibly beautiful Etudes done justice...not sacrificing their beauty for reckless speed. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.❤❤❤❤
I enjoy your performances greatly. Thank you! This is the way I imagine Chopin being played, with heart and virtuosity tempered with restraint and deep concentration on the melodic line.

Thank you, you know you are a wonderful artist and play like my mother did while I was under the piano putting my head up between the beams 90 years ago. Bless you for this beautiful playing.
Here I am in Austria…was ready to go sleep (it‘s midnight here), and got this video suggested. I just wanted to listen into it for a minute. Now - Not even thinking about sleep anymore. Just at number op25,4 and will not go to sleep until I heard all of them. Deeply moved by your immense heartfelt musical feel, breathing and phrasing. Never heard them played in this chamber music approach, nevertheless with this amazing, relaxed technique. Stunning. No wonder, that Rubinstein (who I also love) was one of your mentors. BTW, I am convinced, this is the best environment to hear his music - there was a reason, why Chopin did not like to play his music in big concert halls, but preferred Salons. This is really amazing. Thank you for sharing! ❤
Agree that this environment, house, salon fits so well; - read your comment and am deeply moved, too, breathing and phrasing, fx. the long chromatic run in no.7 is "muted" as soon as possible - it is maybe half pedal, maybe not, I don't know, but the significance is that the phrasing is not broken. I get goosebumps and tears again, and did not know that I would feel so much love for this music after so many years and so many listenings, so many performers. Your comment was very welcome.
This lady gives back to the etudes what thousands of pianists have stolen: their poetic character. Have you ever heard the thirds played like that? That‘s how we should imagine these jewels played by Chopin or his best pupils. I do not remember having been moved to tears when listening to those pieces.

Thank you so much for sharing this jewel.
Appreciate! THANKS SO MUCH
Curious, I also thought of Beatrice Rana when listening to these... much better than many renowned virtuosi who lost their soul practicing night and day
@@daniele8716 great to hear that ! We’ve got refined ears 👂
Maybe you would need to listen it by me on RUclips. This plattform hyde my version to people
Such beautiful tone and interpretation. I am mesmerized! Thank you, Ms. Penneys, for sharing this with us. I feel incredibly fortunate to be one of your students ❤ 😊
Thanks so much Hanbo --appreciate your taking time to listen
You truly are fortunate. Her knowledge and foremost taste are needed. I hope i can learn much from watching these!
Bravo, Rebecca! Stupendous playing, so elegant, full of grace, ease, and the right Chopinesque touch and phrasing. Oh, and I love the modulatory bridges between the études, making them all interconnected! Wow and bravo❣️ 👏👏
you don't known piano , false video in op25-12 right hand don't plays always , bad joke
many thanks
Me recuerda a mi interpretación de estos Estudios que subí a RUclips hace algunos años. Aunque yo los toqué algo más joven y además me gasté mi buen dinerito.
So nice to hear someone take time with this music. Thanks for playing for us!
THANKS SO MUCH!!
Speechless with this FANTASTIC INTERPRETATION!
Chopin, would clap sis hands for you!
Thank you so much for share your talent with us!🇧🇷
I was glued to my screen and utterly mesmerized. Your command of the playing apparatus, the wonderful Steinway, your aural awareness, these incredibly beautiful Etudes done justice...not sacrificing their beauty for reckless speed. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.❤❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Sublime playing, full of transcendent beauty.
many thanks
Bravo !!! Beautifully played. I look forward to hearing Op. 10.
I was listening to a very careful instructional technique honed over many years by a true musician into perfection.
My guess is Chopin would have played around himself with this intro!…. He was such a free improviser
I enjoy your performances greatly. Thank you! This is the way I imagine Chopin being played, with heart and virtuosity tempered with restraint and deep concentration on the melodic line.
Thanks so much
Marvelous. It’s so inspiring and wonderfully intriguing to hear this level of technical proficiency and musical expression and interpretation. Thank you.
Thanks for your kind words!
the best recording I found of this! It is extreeemely well played!
Thank you to the bottom of my heart for this amazing music. ❤️
Thank you, you know you are a wonderful artist and play like my mother did while I was under the piano putting my head up between the beams 90 years ago. Bless you for this beautiful playing.
Brought me to tears, so beautiful
@@donaldaxel THANKS SO MUCH....appreciate
THANKS SO MUCH appreciate your listening
I wish I had had teachers like Penneys. Her pupils are lucky. I will gain what I can from RUclips.
thanks so much
simply beautiful❤❤
I never tire of watching and listening to you dance over the keys. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks a ton ❤
This lady gives back to the etudes what thousands of pianists have stolen: their poetic character. Have you ever heard the thirds played like that? That‘s how we should imagine these jewels played by Chopin or his best pupils. I do not remember having been moved to tears when listening to those pieces.
Your comments are so generous & kind! Thank you ❤
Спасибо большое, великолепно, побольше бы таких людей. с уважением Сергей г. Йошкар-Ола
