Paula! About 6 months ago I came across your sour cream pound cake and i make it once a week for a little elderly lady who ho is very ill and she just loves it. My sister is her sister in law and care giver and we have all decided that she has been so good to us and if she wants to eat pound cake every nite so be it! Now I don't pre heat the oven, I put the cake in and then turn it on. I have had many of her relatives over to pay me up to $25 to make them one...IT IS JUST THAT GOOD!!! So thank you very much. I don't make this cake for money, lol. I just give them a list of what I need and if they buy a dozen eggs and a 4 pk of butter I get a little extra for my cake and its enough.BTW I have been out of sour cream and substituted Greek yogurt and works wonderful too!!!!
Ms. Paula. I bought your sour cream pound cake every time I went to Walmart. My sister passed away, and she loved you so much. Her name is Spring. Blessings to you. 💙
Auntie Paula I have your mixer and I LOVE IT!!!!! When I do my videos and be adding all that butter, I say "Paula Deen is my Auntie, but she just doesn't know it"! LOL!!!!! This has been one of my favorite and most enjoyed videos. Aunt Peggy is a cutie pie and those little boys are just the cutest little things. I just smiled through out the whole video. Thanks for sharing!
I made this (the recipe was from one of Molly Katzen's cookbooks) for my parents (now departed) and they loved it. Since then I made it sometimes when we had company, it's always a favorite. The one I remember had flour, etc, sour cream, vanilla, and lots of cinnamon and I think cardamom, nuts and chocolate optional. I think it would be lovely with lemon, or orange and cloves with walnuts. ❤️
I wish I had an Aunt Peggy!!! God love her!!! Pound cake is my favorite! My grandmother used 10 eggs in her pound cake, with vanilla and almond flavor. I have to try your recipe:)
tammy martin Just follow the recipe for any pound cake like this one especially and use the vanilla extract in Butternut extract. Just substitute any flavoring that’s in the recipe.
Hey Paula, I love going down memory lane, Aunt Peggy is the queen, and this recipe is full of memories. Sour cream pound cake. Paula, when you laugh I start laughing 😂
Paula I so love you and your beautiful family. You all are so close and how wonderful for your grandchildren to have you in their life. You and your family are truly blessed. Stay well and continue to enjoy your life with those you love. Warmest Wishes Always.
Oh my gosh!!! I laughed all the way through this video🤭😂... With Aunt Peggy's "jest" and Paula making fun of her and her genuine laugh. This made my morning! Oh, and that cake looked beautiful! Is that a larger than normal tube pan? It looked really large. Such a great heartwarming video today!!! 💕💕💕. Thank you.. now I can see to it that the rest of my day is just as nice as watching this video was!!!!
Yes.the end brought tears to my eyes. All of our elders have passed. I am the matriarch now; unfortunately we all live in different states. We dont get to have too many family gatherings with every generation.
Good morning,Paula & Guest!🍂🌻🍂 Paula you are the busy in your kitchen! I use to love the before an after dishes in your old kitchen videos.Preparation then presentation. If you could can you possibly bring it back that would be awesome.
I love these videos there so unscripted with phones ringing and dogs barking it sounds like my house minus the kids running around. And love you aunt Peggy she so precious.
Wow! This is a walk down memory lane for me too. My Grandma gave me her sour cream pound cake recipe and I treasure it. She always had that ready for dessert. Then, while scraping the bowl, you said get the goody out. I say that because my Grandma always called whatever was in the bottom of a bowl or pan the goody. 😀😀😀 thank you ❤️ Now, please do a video of a basic yellow cake. Mine never turn out 😀
I just mixed up a batch per the recipe link for a loaf sized cake but now realize the proportion of butter is much higher than in the video ( 1 cup butter to 1 1/2 cups sugar)! I did follow the recipe except I doubled the vanilla. I also had too much batter for a standard loaf pan. Luckily I had a mini loaf to use for the excess. I wish I would have read the comments before I mixed it up - many complaints about cakes falling in the middle. The editor did warn about mixing the batter too much but by that time it was too late. Its in my oven now so I’ll update with results when its done. Update: My cakes are done. I baked 40 minutes in my Breville Smart Oven Air. Came out perfectly browned, delicious and tender. Posting on the instagram. I think secret is using right sized pans. Will definitely put this recipe in regular rotation.

I think lemon or rum or bourbon or orange flavor. Strawberry or raspberry. Cherry, lime. Walnut.almond. Or chocolate the great thing about pound cake it can be versatile in flavor. My mother in law used 7-up. We have even had coke cola flavor.

Such a wonderful video. I love the beautiful cake but most of all, I love the sweet spirit of your precious family❤️ You are truly blessed.
I watch Paula everyday. But I stg I have sent this video to all my best friends bc of Paula saying “free-balling”. BBBAAAAAAAAAAA
Aunt Peggy is the cutest thing!!!! I love to see her sitting observing at the table!
My grandma used to make Sour cream pound cake... she used to make Lemon flavored and she made Butternut. Butternut was always my favorite.
Denise 1965 how do you make butternut? Sounds good.
tammy martin Just follow the recipe for any pound cake like this one especially and use the vanilla extract in Butternut extract. Just substitute any flavoring that’s in the recipe.
Yum! Looks delicious! Love lemon everything. 🍋 Beautiful family. Aunt Peggy seems so sweet. 🎂🍋💖

Is that a larger than normal tube pan? It looked really large. Such a great heartwarming video today!!! 💕💕💕. I make this a lot. Everyone loves it. Great cake.
😀😀😀 thank you ❤️
Now, please do a video of a basic yellow cake.

Hello Paula,

Hey Ms Paula...I hope u are feeling better. We missed you. We care about Jamie BUT, the reason we watch you is bc u don’t down size the fat, in your ingredients. Ppl forget, most if not all these recipes are not to be eaten daily. They are seasonal treats and Folly’s....they are meant to be full of butter, cream, etc etc etc...So hey Bobby, we don’t hat ya, just hate ur food. Lol 😝...love ya Ms. Paula, good day Ms. Peggy....
Couldn't have said this better!
✨Oh I love, love, love these videos with your family and recipe treasures❣️Thank you Miss Paula for keeping on with the cooking & the sharing❣️🤓
Your laugh always makes me smile! I love your videos!
