Just confirms that I really need to sort out the windbreaks! My little mixed hedging is so slow as we are up high and quite exposed - and I planted them 6 years ago! The roses did well though and I was able to harvest the hips! Thank you for a delightful tour over the months to come - cheered me up no end - before I thought ugh, I have a lot to do! LOL! xx
Hedging/shelter belts can be very helpful indeed. We did choose faster growing evergreens as such, for a few reasons. I can’t wait for my roses to get bigger and provide lots of hips, had a few this year, not enough to do anything substantial with, but they did only get planted early last year 💚I know the feeling, I do get really excited and also a little overwhelmed doing these videos 😂 all the best for the year ahead and thanks for watching✌️🌿
Thankyou so much for the reminder of the beautiful bounties ahead. Withe the weather so miserable and the frustration of needing to plant seeds, it was a great reminder of time, patience and abundance ahead. Thankyou xx
Glad you enjoyed it Christine, it’s a big task putting these kind of videos together, I really enjoy doing them though, as it’s such welcome reminders in every way … stay tuned for part 2, in a few days 💚✌️🌿
Superb Awesome, I really love your video because I feel you are so talented with what are you doing ! Keep your face always toward the sunshine and shadows will fall behind you. Hope you are doing well and healthy and I wish to you all success around! Put all my full support for you.
It’s truly amazing what you guys produce…. I know you have a good amount of ground which helps but also it’s just knowing how to do it it to get the best from it. Haven’t really got a clue, just try to do better each year… all we can do is our best.
Doing better each year, is exactly how we have learnt too ... and is the best way in my mind - trial and error/success and learning by actually experiences, I think helps the knowledge stick best 💚 and besides, every garden is going to be different, we can offer ideas and inspiration with our methods and then working out whats best in your own garden is all part of the fun and experience. ✌️🌿
You guys are amazing. I sincerely hope others listen and learn from you. You have shown all the hard work and careful planning really does make a massive difference when it comes to harvesting and eating the most delicious seasonal produce. Home grown tastes so so so much better. I wish you well for 2025 and please keep us posted on your progress. Thankyou x
Hi Suzanne, thank you so much for your lovely comment. Homegrown food is so much nicer and better for you in every way for sure 🙌 stay tuned for the second half of this vid in a few days 💚✌️🌿
I applaud you for working hard providing your own food not depending on grant like in my country. Most village we have enough land to grow own food but all my neighbors they will tell you it's hot or they don't know .I bring seedlings for them even fruits all goes to waste 😊😊
Thank you 🙏 and good on you for doing what you can to encourage others and growing what you can yourself. It is so very rewarding in many ways 💚 appreciate you watching & commenting ✌️🌿
Hi, so glad you enjoyed the vid 💚 The mushroom buckets are made by a friend of ours, we've had a couple of requests about how they are done, so I am hoping to do a vid with our friend sometime this year to do a 'how to' mushroom bucket video, so stay tuned ... and also for part 2 of this video, which I will hopefully have ready in the next few days 🙏 Thanks for watching & commenting ✌️🌿
Wow 😮 I would love to grow my own mushrooms around the house if I could and how would I do that please? Amazing video to learn for me a beginner and thank you 😊
Hi, I have just been in connact with our friend who makes the mushroom buckets up and I am hoping to film a video of the process with him this year, if you would like to see more on innoculating outside beds check out this video here: ruclips.net/video/9ooMBx1d0C8/видео.html So glad the video was helpful for you, part 2 will be out in a few days showing the second half of the year, July-Dec, so stay tuned for that one 💚✌️🌿
How many digress do you have inside and outside the tunnel through January till March where you live? Do you use any heaters in polytunnels during these months?
Hi, our lowest out side temp goes down to -5oC but only usually the odd day or 2 that low. The tunnels will go to a simular temperature, but offer for wind protection and better heat when we do get sun, encouraging better growth. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching 💚✌️🌿
Simply beautiful, this abundance of crops: but it should be sufficient for at least 10 peoples. When do you have time to eat all of that? I wish you for the next years peace and good health. Katharina from hungary (with two high beds and a small herb garden within the food forest only)!
Hi Katrina, what we grow can defo feed more than just us, we do gift a fair amount to friends, neighbours and family too and we COULD grow even more in this space if we had more hands! It does feel that nearly my whole life is either growing, preparing or cooking food!! 🤣 defo not something I am complaining about though, as it also feels very nature and how it’s mean to be … kind of a modern world way of being a hunter gatherer 💚🙏 happy growing to you for the season ahead too✌️🌿
Hey Sean, Nice, Onions, Aubergines & Peppers for me, shortly followed by Beets, Lettuce & Toms ... I can't believe how quickly its getting to that time already!!! What date do you start your sowings? Oh and yes, we are Vegan, so we eat A LOT of veg 😃 We do eat the occasional Pheasant, if we came across them mindlessly killed where we have a lot of shoots in our area 💚✌️🌿
@ 1st week in January for 1st sowings of onions & lettuce, usually just to test viability of seeds. If anything comes up - bonus , if not throw out old seed & re-order

Great video. Where do you buy those hoops for the cloches
Hi Andy, the hoops were made by one of our neighbours, from scrap metal and gifted to us, they are so so useful 💚✌️🌿

My 1st sowings are cauliflower, onions, lettuce & tomato.
I can’t remember if you’ve mentioned it before but are you & Dan vegans ?
